This just said Halloween: The Curse of Michael Meyers. So I thought it was the first one. Maybe that's why I have always liked it more than some of the reviews. The two that made Halloween 6 scary for me as a kid was Donald Pleasance and George Wilbur as Michael Myers. Dr Loomis' warning to the mother to get out of that house was haunting. The way Wilbur moved and clenched his fists in rage as Michael was creepy. It conveyed something more than just some crazy serial killer that escaped the loony bin.
I can't even say he clenched his fists in rage. Clenching a fist in rage typically involves trembling or shaking. But his fists were completely still, like a surgeon. As though his hands were made of stone and he kept them in a fist because his natural stature was built for efficient violence.

@@ashleylynn2701 that is Halloween 8 resurrection. After he “kills” Laurie strode he hands the knife to the patient with the clown mask and it shows him walking through the tunnel
Man, I love Donald Pleasance so much. It's awesome that he stuck with the Sam Loomis character through the whole series, despite these films being below an actor of his caliber. It's unfortunate that this pile of crap was one of his last roles, but I'm relieved he never actually had to see it.
I think the producer's cut is a pretty good movie minus the recasting of Jamie, the incest, and the scene where Tommy stops Michael with runes. The theatrical cut on the other hand is a fucking mess. But at least it's not boring. Producer's Cut - 8/10 Theatrical Cut - 5/10
While the producer's cut is definitely less of a mess and closer to an actual movie, I really hate the incest part. Even Rob Zombie had the sense to avoid that kind of dumb crap in his films (and there is a lot of dumb crap in his films) Plus, turning your evil boogeyman, a force of nature, into a mindless cult puppet really reduces the fear factor of MM.
I wanna say the producers cut is better for having more Dr. Loomis scenes but it also has Jamie getting raped in that version...seriously wtf were they thinking!?
What never sat well with me in Halloween 6 was the scene where Tommy finds the baby - it’s a crowded bus station, full of commuters going to work all morning and no one notices the bloody food prints, the blood in the sink (and Tommy’s first thought is to fondle that shit) and the screaming baby in the cupboard when they went down to take a piss. Then Tommy turns up at like 11-12pm and he’s like no shit, baby’s right here.
@@jayrob846 I think she couldn’t get through to 911 so called the radio talk show who thought it was a joke. Doesn’t affect the situation in the bus station with the baby though.

Thank you Layton for all your hard work, I love your work & hope we get another retrospective soon! 😊
One thing that I always enjoy about watching Layton's work is that he's goes all in to research the movie and always try to give a fair comment on the film. This and Jaws 4 is well known for being awful or all over the place but at least Layton lays it out on how it became a complete and total mess as well as showing how H6 was a case of too many cooks or when the blokes with too much money took over instead of leaving it to the people that had actual love for the series. And yes I would be interested to hear an in depth look at the two Rob Zombies ones and the H20 but I bet Ill have to wait until next year for those.... still total credit to Layton for making H6 fun to rewatch 8-)

You think they woulda gave her the heads up that Jamie’s role in the film was minor before letting her go through all that trouble. Also never knew about Quentin’s involvement. Looking forward to watching more of your vids. More entertaining than the movie itself 👌🎃
Where do I know that piece of music at 19:04 from? It's driving me crazy!
I love the ending where hands the guy the knife and he is just saying michaels life story basically and says now he’s back love that part chills when he says all that and walks in the tunnels
Isn't that from the beginning of part 8? I don't think I remember this scene in part 6.
@@Pocketrocket-pj1us really I swore it’s at the end of curse of Michael Myers I could be mistaken
@@ashleylynn2701 that is Halloween 8 resurrection. After he “kills” Laurie strode he hands the knife to the patient with the clown mask and it shows him walking through the tunnel
@@tylergary5953 thank you for that lol the version I seen on RUclips made it look like it was in this film
“Loses his head with a shocking demise”- genius
Man, I love Donald Pleasance so much. It's awesome that he stuck with the Sam Loomis character through the whole series, despite these films being below an actor of his caliber. It's unfortunate that this pile of crap was one of his last roles, but I'm relieved he never actually had to see it.
Even before he died, he told the press that "I'll Stop On 22." Plus Moustapha Al Akkad followed Donald Pleasance advice.
many choose to ignore what happened in the town of Haddonfield back in the seventies .
I'm loving these videos! Subscribed! Keep 'em coming man!
Thanks for the support!
Thank you for making this!
I love hearing about how disastrous this film was.
Theirs needs to be a documentary about it.
That was a great movie review from you. I actually liked both versions of this movie.
Give us the directors cut dimension!!!!
Thank you for your explanation of this movie❤
I think the producer's cut is a pretty good movie minus the recasting of Jamie, the incest, and the scene where Tommy stops Michael with runes.
The theatrical cut on the other hand is a fucking mess. But at least it's not boring.
Producer's Cut - 8/10
Theatrical Cut - 5/10
While the producer's cut is definitely less of a mess and closer to an actual movie, I really hate the incest part. Even Rob Zombie had the sense to avoid that kind of dumb crap in his films (and there is a lot of dumb crap in his films) Plus, turning your evil boogeyman, a force of nature, into a mindless cult puppet really reduces the fear factor of MM.
Both are hot garbage.
I wanna say the producers cut is better for having more Dr. Loomis scenes but it also has Jamie getting raped in that version...seriously wtf were they thinking!?
The theatrical is more brutal.
Love the Too Many Cooks shout out! Haha Brilliant!
*I would love to see a series like this on Scream*
What a great video thank you for making this I love this movie
My favorite bit has always been how many whacks it took to chop down the "little Myers" sign on the front lawn.
Honestly I Liked Halloween 4 & 5
Why don't many people talk about how Dr Wynn was in the 1978 film.
Dr Wynn was a work in Progress. I believe there were plans for his Character for sequels later.
Yes, please. I would love to see your reviews of the other movies. Because this was very insightful.
Damn ....this video is like the RKO. It came out of nowhere! Happy Halloween Layton 🤙🏻
Truly underrated channel! Love your content brother
Why didnt jamie call 911
Thaught she tried calling 911 and they hung up her thinking it was a joke its either in the director or tv cut.
@@jayrob846 I think she couldn’t get through to 911 so called the radio talk show who thought it was a joke. Doesn’t affect the situation in the bus station with the baby though.
Consider this film as the end of the Loomis saga before being retconned twice. Thorn storyline had potential.
Paul Rudd creepy perform & Donald Pleasances were the best things in the movie!
Youre channel is great bud
Better than most making of documentaries out there, love it
I agree, joe Chappell was not 100% to blame for this film’s failure but what he said about mr. Pleasance was stupid
Just discovered the channel. First video i watched.(H6 is a guilty pleasure.) Very cool videos.
Thank you!
Thank you for making this! Just finished and I’m thankful for all the extra knowledge on this! Nowww if one could find the Producer’s Cut on Blu Ray 🤔🤔
Ahh the 90s... Nothing better. How I miss them 😢
The worst part of this movie might be Paul Rudd’s weird voice affectation.
Great Work! This was Awesome! Very informative too!
Moustapha Akkad walking around like a G with his pipe 😅 what a mood!
I love the Producer's Cut of this film.
Very great work here well done!!! I highly enjoyed this. I've heard the original story of its cursed production many many times, somehow this documentary feels very fresh and interesting.
Just discovered your channel recently ty so much
Thanks for watching!
To ME Halloween 6 was the best Michael Myers movie in terms of evilness of the Myers character
This retrospective has become a October tradition for me ever since it came out.
This is the third straight year that I have watched this retrospective along with Layton’s retrospective on Halloween 4 & 5.
I was sick last New Year’s Eve with COVID & that’s when we got the H20 retrospective & it made my New Years Eve so much better.
Thank you Layton for all your hard work, I love your work & hope we get another retrospective soon!
😊
Thank you! It's right around the corner ...
@49:19, I'd say H20 is FAR more heavily influenced by the '90 slasher craze inspired by Scream than "Curse" is
One thing that I always enjoy about watching Layton's work is that he's goes all in to research the movie and always try to give a fair comment on the film.
