  • Hey you lovely lot, welcome to the second part of our Telecaster upgrade video.
If you missed the first one, you can find it here. • Upgrade a tele Part 1....
In this video, I run you through how to instal our '68 telecaster pickups with a 5 way loom and then twang the strings a bit so you can hear the difference the pickups make to the sound of the guitar. As always, thanks for watching.
If you'd like to get yourself a 5-way loom, you can find them here www.montysguit...
And if you'd like to sample some 68 tele tone, you can get that here

I did it, 500k pots, push/pulls for phase reversal and series wiring. The 68s are simply amazing. Now my affections are torn between that or my wife and kids.

Enjoyed this a lot Matt! Great demo and love your playing. Those pick ups sound amazing. Would it be insane to fit them in a Fender Custom Shop Nocaster 51! I find the Nocaster bridge too ice picky, even with bridge lowered to max! Even the 2 pick ups together sound icey.

Hey man glad you liked the video it was super fun to do. It wouldn't be insane to swap them out if you like the feel of the guitar but not the tone but if you don't like the feel or look of the guitar I would say sell it and get one you like. Hope that helps. Cheers M

Lovely playing how about a comparison of all your tele pickups can’t decide between the 68 and the Danish Petes?

I have a Tele Elite with the noiseless pickups...which I hate.
    I'm loving the '68 set.
Do you ship to the US?
If so, where do I need to go to purchase a set?
    Thanks!

8 grounds soldered to the volume pot back ?! Consider solder lug washer(s) for all grounds. Sometimes a "vintage correct" technique was bad when it was first used 70 years ago (as the "quick and dirty" option), and it's worse now that we know/can do better.

I've got a Nashville Tele and, I bought the Danish Pete set with a strat pickup in the middle but even after following the existing wiring I can't get the bridge to work 😖😖
Do I have to do something with the white wire from the bridge pickup?
Any help would be great 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾

Hey Duncan, Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Do you have a multimeter? If not no worries just wire the pickup directly to the jack to make sure it is working. Send me a picture of how it's wired to mail@montysguitars.com and I'll get you up and rocking as soon as I can. Cheers Matt

are the bridge poles flat or staggered? looks like they are staggered on this video as much as I can tell, but they look flat on the photos on the website.

'conical spring', did you say: narrow part by the bridge & wide part touching the pickup base-plate, or the other way up?
