I find it hard to believe the prices you got on the antique finds! I’m happy for you. Yes, I would love more thrifting and antiquing.
Like I said, everything was 50% off! I got some steals for sure and honestly in our area things are just cheaper!
My husband absolutely hates flies! He won't rest, if he sees one in the house, until it's "dispatched"!!😂

Put out a cup with apple cider vinegar and just a bit of dawn. It will lure in flies , gnats, pantry moths, any creepy crawly that likes apples! If youre like me, i use dixie cups or anything disposable. They get gross with the bodies and everything...😬
Believe it or not, I have 3 out. Not one has anything caught in it!
@@seedandsparrowhomestead oh man! I had a bad problem years ago with pantry moths. They didnt try it for a while. I about gave up but then one dove in there! I used that critter for bait! Lol it eventually did work but it was a weeks! Good luck and God bless! 🙏🙏🙏

I just found the mashed avocado at Costco and had my 1st little cup today - So Good! Also, those Annie's cheesy bits are my absolutely favorite and they don't always have them. Last week I picked up 2 bags of them! Yum! AND I love the copper colander you got. It is absolutely beautiful!

I also really enjoy Costco hauls because you get to see things that maybe would go unnoticed. That is especially true for me because I don’t enjoy shopping and when I do shop, my arthritic knees are a constant reminder of why I spend as little time as possible in Costco or shopping in general. I’m glad you’re feeling better and I hope your week is off to a great start! 🤗

I found one at Azure Standards "Stacey's Organic Tortillas, they have different sizes (small, medium and burritos)
Unfortunately the closest drop is about 1.5 hours away and just not worth it for us. I wonder if I could find that brand elsewhere?
I believe you order from Azure Standard so if you plan ahead order Stacy's tortilla size 8, 10 & 12 are frozen and organic. They are excellent..😊

Azure standard has great delicious and clean tortillas :) you should give them a try
About the tortillas….I live in an area of the country where there are a lot of Hispanic people, so a lot of Mexican food options. I have found the Mission brand tortillas to be the worst option available, I avoid it if I can. The ones that seem to be the best are the locally made ones from small factories, although you might not have that available there.

I know the Azure sells organic tortillas and the brand is Stacey’s.
I wonder if I can find them somewhere else, the closest drop is 1.5 hours and it just doesn’t seem worth it unfortunately.

I would love to see antiques finds it is fun shopping or antiques. I pickled dill pickles and bread and butter pickles this week when I made a trip to our local Amish store that sells produce, plants and more . Cucumbers were 2 for $1.00 also purchased some beets, corn, green beans, celery, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and potatoes.

I find is so distracting that people have to make excuses for what they buy and don’t buy. Personally o don’t care if you eat sweets all day or you don’t eat any. I am only interested in the haul. Also I know people will make comments about anything that’s perceived as ‘ bad foods’ but just ignore that. Enjoy your shopping and your food no matter what. I love shopping hails and to see what’s for sale in the USA.
The Kirkland brand avocado mash is less expensive and excellent and yes avocado freezes very well.

We went and did our Costco hauls as well. We got a lot of the same items you did. I don’t know about your area but our Costco was a mad house onFriday morning. A lady backed into my son while he was right behind her car walking. He was ok but she didn’t even get out to see if she hurt him. What is wrong with people.

Oh no! That’s terrible! I do notice the closer to the city we get, like Costco, the worse peoples manners are and their regard for others.
We go to Costco on Tuesday or Wednesday. Not as crowded.

I would love to be shown the art of antiquing…I was never taught that how to see the pieces that match your desired home aesthetic from the thrift store or antique shop, and I’m not sure how to teach myself that now that I’m an adult lol 🤪
Thanks for your hauls! They were both fun. I hate to tell you, but I don’t think that colander is old. Usually something that old can’t be polished up as shiny.. I could be wrong, but I don’t think so. Doesn’t really matter, if you love it!
I don’t believe it’s very old but it’s definitely not new. The porcelain handles have some crazing and discoloration on them so I’m assuming it’s at least somewhat older!
That spiced rum makes the best vanilla extract!! I had to buy vodka for my batch I started in February 👎🏼 I’m certain it won’t be as good. Love your haul videos. Makes me want to switch from Sam’s Club to Costco! And I LOVE going to antique malls. I love to get an iced latte and just go browse. It’s not quite as relaxing when I take my 3 kids (7,4, and 2 year olds) 🤣
I absolutely love Thrifting! Except that I call it “junkin”! I would love to see your treasures! Little rural communities have the absolute best thrift stores.

When I don't make tortillas I will buy La Tortilla Factory Handmade Style tortillas. I used to love Angelic Bakehouse's wraps as well but they were recently closed and then bought by another company so I am not sure if we will see those in stores again or not. Thanks for the video 😁

Maybe if you decorate for fall and Christmas. You could make a video showing that and where you use your antiques to decorate with. I think it's nice when you post all different kinds of videos.
I know you do are trying to not eat gluten products. We all like things that are crunchy. Have you teied making parmesan crisps that are homemade? That could give you the crunch factor and also a wonderful nutty cheesy flavor to go with the avocado. They are easy to make and yummy. Some high end restaurants will use one or two instead of croutons, for salads.

I thought you were doing gluten free for health reasons? I'm gf -celiac. I love seeing options/ideas on yourube since i have to eat that way. I mustve missed that one when that changed.
When looking at food items that are dried/cured the nitrite, nitrate, nitride that are added are important for safety against bacteria. BUT if your trying to get items without the nitrite, nitrate, nitride just check the package closely specifically for the phrase "no added nitrite/nitrates" because some things have natural nitrites and nitrates such as celery.
I wish more were made of the natural nitrites like I make at home but the crap they use is cheaper for them and you know that they won't pay more just to make it healthier for us.
Yes! I totally understand. Natural doesn’t bother me, but not much is natural anymore unfortunately!

I have a dye allergy, blues and red. Over the years I've had to be very careful of them. I love gummed, but so many are full if them. Trader has gummed no dyes, just fruit and vegetables juice as colors. They are good. One item I found to have red and blue dyes was chocolate. Why its chocolate no need for it. So look at those ingredients. Now I have to watch sugars, as I am boardline diabetic. So now I make a form of fruit jams, with only fruit and lemon juice mashed and cooked down, till thick and freeze. Blueberry and blackberry so far.
I know a few people who have allergies to them as well. Unfortunately it seems they are bringing used more and more 😕

I do 5 beans per 8oz alcohol. So it ended up being about 38 beans.

I buy Siete brand almond flour GF tortillas at Costco. Do you order from Azure? Everybody raves about their Stacy’s brand tortillas but have not tried them as they are not GF.

Hi! Is this humidity considered "normal" in your area or is it something unusual?
It’s usually on the humid side once July and August hit but it’s been unbearable as of late. Used to 60-75% humidity but 90+??? Yikes 😂

When children are given no processed sugar (I know
it's not you), or foods with "chemical dyes", then get access to them, they tend to over indulge, and get themselves into trouble. I would consider having them drink a full glass of water, before and after an "unapproved, unnatural snack, and maybe some Greek yogurt, to coat their bellies, to help filter the bad stuff.
My 4 kids are grown; with my two daughters having 3 children each. Telling children they can't have what the other kids are eating, may end up causing resentment and a "mutiny"! I suggest not micro managing them, while at a friend's house or Sunday school. We told our children, when they were little, we expect them to always be polite, respect adults, and listen to the rules they tell the children each week. We also told them if we go to a restaurant to eat, and they are well behaved, we will continue to take them. But if they disrupt meals for other diners, we would go on a datenight alone, and they would have a babysitter. When older couples complimented their behavior, we would ask them to tell our children directly.
My sister came to visit, and we took 7 children, under 10years old, to a buffet style restaurant. My husband was out of town. A couple came over to tell us that they appreciated how well behaved the children all were. The husband asked if he could give them each a quarter.. We told them it would mean more, if they gave it to them directly!!
I guess I'm trying to say, you can prepare your children before attending church, with water and yogurt and anything to flush the sugars out of their systems with water, and try to coat their stomach, so it absorbs at a slower rate, and children don't seem to turn into uncontrollable, disrespectful, wild, kids, who want processed sugar, and want it now!!
It's so important not to make them feel different. Just tell them they can have their snack, on their way home, so if it affects their behavior, they're not in church when it happens. Giving them a choice of MORE of a "less lethal" snack, or a small piece of a "TOXIC" SNACK!!
