    Hi there, a huge thank you for taking time out to teach! A little background I am 68 and disabled from 2003 from a very rare nerve disease (Dr.s claim that it's one the most painful) I was bedridden for3 yrs. prior I had boxed for 8 yrs. and martial arts since I was a kid. I mentioned this because I am not a quitter. Taught myself to walk then it was time for my hands and arms. Pardon my terminology but I was also a rocker, stoner in attitude so I always wanted to learn the guitar, a nice lady gave me a "toy" guitar, that's what I call it. I found your site and what a ride it has been! I now can move all my fingers and arms, I play a little Zeppelin, and quite a few of your songs that you taught, you have been my teacher and friend thank you so very much! Sorry about the length of this note.

Just bought a used Ibanez electric, because at 57 starting all over again I don't want to die in a kitchen as a chef! I want to die in some old blues Club you are making learning all over again fun! Fantastic work! I don't care what anybody says I always called power chords!

    SHANE! First time I saw your bodhran! I've been playing for 25 years... When I was learning guitar, I got so frustrated with the DDUDU crap that I just went with my gut...and adopted tipper technique to strumming. In 5 minutes I was playing all the chords I had memorized!!
    Bodhran. Great teacher! 😁

      It's not easy , I'm doing it in manageable chunks , but the pleasure ( and smile ) you get from each mastered part really is immeasurable . Stick at it . Small steps . Nothing really worth having comes easy - If you bite off too big a chunk of steak and try to eat it , it will choke you .Small bites are waaaaay more enjoyable . More than a mouthful ... 😉

    Awesome. I bet you could do a great guitar arrangement on Same Old Lang Syne by Dan Fogelberg. That melody line is to die for. A terrific ballad probably everyone can relate to. It’s more of a piano song but you have a such a gift for emulating the piano pieces on guitar. Can’t believe Fogleberg was taken from us at only age 56 to prostate cancer. I survived it but I feel guilty-just imagine what other incredible songs he would have written if he was still around.

    Hi Shane. Just a quick question.....at 4:08 your last note before you hit c add9 is the open G. At 6:36 and 6:50 it is 1st finger on 2nd fret of G. Can you let me know if I am reading this wrong, or which is the correct one?
    Thanks. John.

    • @GuitarAtWork
      @GuitarAtWork  Год назад +1

      Hi John, thanks for that. The open G is correct as per the original song recording. . It will sound odd if you pause on it but is the right note and sounds good when strung all together. Cheers,
      Shane
