hey bro just a heads up. I'm a trucker and most places will let you spend money in the store and get a free shower just from that, or will offer a minimum purchase of $20 worth of stuff and they will give you a freebie. Also if you get their rewards card, you can purchase $50 worth of fuel and get a free shower from them as well. most all places have this as a staple in the trucker industry..
As a former truck driver I can certify this fact as well, and the rewards points can be used to help offset cost of food purchases or can pay for the food for you completely AND at all Love's, Petro, TA's, Flying J and Pilot's you can use the rewards card to get free showers and free refills. However, big note on the Love's card in my experience, you can't earn points at the regular gas pumps and that points can be earned when purchasing diesel in the truck fuel islands. If this info is incorrect please let me know cuz thats what I've been told.
Glad to finally get a tour! Memory foam has one really bad feature for camping. If it gets cold it gets hard! That's why my parents switched back to a regular bed in their RV. I started to think instead of a fridge you were going to have "more drone parts". 😂
Cool van setup, i really like the fact that you can put almost anyhting in the van. I'd recommend putting some leds on the vans roof in case you need to do something at night.
I actually really like your videos I've saw a couple of them over the last week and I decided to subscribe and give you a thumbs up on a couple of them definitely the one where it's everyday carry it gets pretty badass have a good day man
Really impressed. Nice functional set up May be a wall of pockets on your exposed wall to store small items but still keep open feel. Use over the door shoe bag organizers. Small peg board with clamping hold downs for tool storage on wall owner desk
I feel like with enough money, you could make it a fully livable space with almost no compromises. I feel like a modern look, with cable management between the wall and the fan interior would look slick.
Danger Will Robinson! Danger! Those propane bottles do not a real valve in them, just a rubber ball that plugs the orifice. They do leak and cause explosions. But any good camping store or online, you can buy thread brass caps, with an additional rubber seal, to make sure they don't leak.
Love it. Must be lots of good little hacks that you didn't show us. Velcro spots, latches, etc. You've done well with space! Maybe some ESP8266 WLEDs? Kitchen lights.
I realized I kind of want to do basically what he has done here but with a much bigger vehicle as I am 6'5" and I like to be able to stand at my work space however I love the backwoods and the country. A mobile ops vehicle would be quite efficient for where I live which is in Oregon, as you climb up the cascades you can actually get some really good service. I just don't have the kinds of money I would need for this.
I kinda wanna put together a van of my own some day. Though said day will be a long time from now since I'm still in college and unemployed (but at least I have paid internships coming up, albeit, I do have to find one still; but it's part of the curriculum). But I already have an idea of a layout that'd work for me. It'd be very cramped but the amount of space I actually use day to day at home is very little and can easily be compressed, so I think I could make it work. Only problem for me would be water storage and dealing with waste (I have some ideas on how to manage that but it makes the setup more complex, as I'm very picky :v).
If I did a van build I'd have the bed go lengthwise but be fairly thin in terms of width (as I don't roll in my sleep and I don't need a big bed), and then beside the bed (at the back of the van) I'd put a wet washroom (all fully enclosed with a sliding door), and have all the water/waste tanks accessible from the back doors (and maybe a reverse osmosis filter with UV filter so I can recycle the grey water). As well as a washer/dryer combo unit under the bed (this would also be the only spot you could enter the bed from, as the rest would be basically walled off). Then I'd have a dinette/entertainment spot directly at the foot of the bed (a single seat with a table in front of it facing the TV), and a very small kitchen on the other side. Then with the remaining space I'd have a closet for a home office and some storage (and no sliding door on the side of the van, the only way into the van will be from the cabin). I'd also want a lockable sliding door (with peephole) between the cabin and living area and no windows. Maybe some wide angle cameras on the outside. It'd be extremely cramped and I'm not 100% sure all that would even fit, but if done right I think that's the sorta thing that'd work for me. Would really need to draw it out to show what I mean though. Would probably need one of the longer wheelbase vans to make it work though.
@@sciencescripture I want a pet fox ;o; but in Canada (which is where I am) they're illegal to keep as pets (at least any fox native to Canada, such as red foxes, regardless of if they're domesticated or not).
Are these active Antennas (do the have an amplifier built in)? If not then I would strongly recommend to move the modem as close to the antennas as possible and use just short cables to keep the cable losses to a minimum.
for your grey water tank, why not have a draining system in place so you dont have to remove it if you can have it drain into a storm drain when parked if not out in the open desert?
Isn't there a gym chain where you live? A friend lived in a van for a while and was member of a big gym chain here and mostly just showered there for like 20€/month in every bigger city.
Do you feel a rear wheel drive (with good tires) is "good-enough" for most of your travels? Of course everyone wants a 4x4 super duper rig, but just curious.
hi, have you thought to install a car kill switch or a small safe? i met once a dude who was traveling in a van like this, cool guy, he had installed the kill switch in a bobbing head toy near his windshield and a small steel safe behind that step from the side door (that white part that you can see at 1:06 under your small piece of carpet )
Is there a specific reason you went with the Sprinter over a ProMaster or Transit? It seems like everyone hates the Sprinters for cost, reliability, parts availability, and maintenance cost. Of course the largest body offers 530 cu ft…
4:01 - For the Mudi GliNet LTE Modem, did you have to adjust the EIRP for the antennas or does the SIM dictate EIRP? Or would that be the actual radio chip itself? Forgive me, just dont want Uncle Charlie knocking on your door for running a radio hot is all. (Uncle Charlie: Feds with radio monitoring equipment)
since you have already answered the number one van life question, "where do you go potty", here's the other number one question (😁) : how do you make a living on the road - only if you're comfortable answering that question, of course ?
You could get a high top van with sleeping arrangement in the top area and have all the space in the van part available. Search on google for Vanlife Goals: Hannah's dialed MTB Van Tour She has an awesome setup with a large bed.

I was planning on having a 3D printer in my van. Your overall setup is very efficient. Thanks for some good ideas.

love the industrial cabinets those are great. Wondered where you got those. I llike the latching mechanisms and the overall look of those.

Like the van, try a bus next. That’s the route I would go if ever to make a mobile command centre
Yes, finally. Thank you.
I REALLY LIKE YOUR PLUSH FOX ;O; (foxes are my favourite animal, I have a fox cabinet in my room full of plush foxes >w>).
Sure but a real pet, i.e. a dog, hak5 / glitch mascot would be even better and some places do provide domesticated fox adoption, as well.

What's that ceiling covering? It looks flexible?
I have abandoned my typical routine to watch this video.

Do you have issues with mold in the fresh water "tanks?"
Nice! Thanks dude
I think you have to keep the propane tank outside the van for safty...
