    Ideal logic Combi boiler servicing in Guiseley Leeds, always use a gas safe engineers just take case off so first of all we are going to check inside make sure there are no water leaks we are going to remove sump cover and just check the sump they do sometimes crack just where the cover is its a little bit awkward with one hand while holding camera , first we will take fan out just disconnect the fan and take the screw out under the fan, this is the old style fan and its got a nut on it as well, now we are just going to take the burner out, we have removed the four screws now and we just lift the top off and just pulls out nice and easy just going to check all the burner and make sure its all in good condition also check burner seal , now we are going to brush all this out and then we are going to give it a full clean out, so now we are going to pour some warm water down to wash it through , so all the deposits coming out. Put the front of the sump on so we can pour more water down and put it all back in reverse order , so now we are going to put it into service mode and check high and low with flue gas analyser and check its all working safely

    I have an Ideal logic combined 30 boiler. A previous engineer did say that the model wasn't very good. I had it on one of those government grant schemes. Now Corgi Homecare aren't going to cover the repair I have been advised to have it power flushed.

    • @Skydiver1000
      @Skydiver1000 5 лет назад

      solitarymaninblack corgi and all of the other maintenance insurers have tightened up on scale and sludge. Cutting through all of the jargon you need to view any of these policies as cover for sudden breakdown and emergency repair. Corgi happily cover items which are considered wear and tear, but several of the others do not cover wear and tear. When you have the system flushed send a copy of the paperwork into them and any restrictions on your cover will be lifted. Imagine never changing the oil on a car then expecting a vehicle maintenance insurance to cover a seized engine.

    I have an IDEAL logic 24 combi and two months ago it was diagnosed with a split heat exchanger. (by myself to be honest after research)...some seem to miss the diagnosis as the water runs straight into the condensate pipe and some might think the rads or pipes just "must" be leaking..The water pressure dropped continuously, but showed no signs of leaking within the boiler....
    It was exchanged and cost me £275 by IDEAL.Two months on and it is now working but very noisy.The sound is like tacks rattling in a tin..sound coming from inside of boiler continuously.It isn`t expansion noises or pipes moving. Is it the new hex.?..Four years old and this is happening.
    Any suggestions as to what may be causing it anyone.?

    How long would you say a standard service for a combi boiler would take? In my case I've got a Ideal Logic. What's the life of these please. The last service I had the guy was in and out in 13mins, I've never experienced such a short duration for a service. Thanks

    • @indiawest2025
      @indiawest2025 5 лет назад

      I would say 13 mins is not enough, best standard service would be 30 to 45 minutes of continuous work.these boiler are very complicated and time consuming but a pro would get it done in half the time,as a pro has years of experience. best advice is to self drain the entire system out of water-ether the by the radiator vale using a hose or inside the boiler on the heat exchanger,just unscrew it a little and have a bucket in hand. and use inhibitors afterwards in the magnacleaner, and having a magnacleaner helps.

      sue rowe once a boiler cover is removed only a qualified gas engineer can recognise possible signs of danger on the boiler. you are actually paying for a service and knowledge
      either £80 for us to look
      at annually or either £3-4k boiler swap that may of caused harm or death in your property
      THATS WHAT YOU PAY FOR 😀👍

    • @jonathancollins2682
      @jonathancollins2682 7 лет назад +2

      Sue Rowe No doubt you are employed by a company, who as well as paying you your wages / salary, have other costs associated with employing you, e.g. employers national insurance contributions, Pension contributions, covering sick pay, maternity pay, holiday pay etc. So for every hour you work the company are paying you just a little more than what you actually receive in your pay packet. So a self employed tradesperson has got to cover these costs as well as the practical costs of being able to do the job as Allen has explained.

    • @Alz46
      @Alz46 6 лет назад +4

      It cost me £30 to have somebody in a call centre change the address on my car insurance. So £80 for somebody to come out and service a boiler actually seems quite a bargain when you think of all the associated costs and training involved. Some of the more basic stuff like visual checks and cleaning the condensate trap were not shown in the video so there is a few other things to check. Plus the in-depth knowledge of the other hundreds of different boilers you'll encounter.
