- Full guide on the Ideal Logic combination boiler on how to replace and ideal logic sump and how to perform a full strip down service on an ideal logic combination boiler.
We got called out to this boiler a few weeks ago when the customer reported a breakdown, we discovered the condensate trap was blocked due to the boiler not being serviced for a number of years. We recommended a full strip and clean and to replace the defective sump.

Little different from me but I think it will help people out if you ever get this job…let me know if you want me to carry on doing these once in a while 🙌👍
Logics are by far my fav boilers. Even though early models had there issues they are very easy to work on and service 👊🏼👍🏼
Yes mate very nice boiler to work on 👍
First time I see a crowbar used inside a boiler lol. Love these boiler in depth videos. There's only so much work/experience you can get in the field, watching these really help expand our knowledge.
Crow bar for the win 😂 thanks mate glad the content helping you out 👍👍
Big thanks to you mate for your content. Been invaluable to me during my NVQ2 and now as I come to the end of my gas training. 👍👍
No problem mate hope it helps you out mate 🙌👍👍
Great work,I wish everyone were as though as you
Thanks mate 👍
Great video I have two logic combis to do tomorrow 1 full service and 1 sump replacement on two different boilers your video has definitely helped cos I haven’t done a full service on a logic combi before and haven’t done a sump replacement before, new engineer to the industry thanks you uploaded this video just in time for me to do these jobs and yes I’ve been subscribed for a while all ways watching your videos
Honestly mate it makes doing the video worth while when it’s helps someone so made my night that has, hope it helps you out tomorrow on your jobs 🙌👍
The logics are probably one of the best boilers to work on in modern History 😂😂,
Brilliant video mate,
👍👍🤜🤠
Mate love them, Logic or duotec so easy to work on I’ve found 👍
Nice content bud as always thank you....I cant wait to start my GAS training. Please keep this useful content coming. 👍👊
Will do mate 👍
Good work and good footage, What more can we ask for. Are we entertained? Yes
🙌👍 thanks mate
Top of your game here mate FairPlay
Thanks mate. Yes keep the training coming. Love the logics. At least the older ones anyway. 👍
Great video Luke. Sumps can be hit or miss. It either goes nice and smooth or a real pain 😂
Spot on mate, I’ve been in and out in 30 mins or I’ve been sweating and cursing for over an hour, just depends if the plumbing gods am with us that day 😂👍👍
We've only started getting the new logic models. I do hope they've sorted out this issue with the sump. Its the most common fault on ideal logics.
I hope they have as well it’s been a problem for a while with them
I had one of those today burner sump and flue manifold pin holed keep up the good work pal.
Thanks mate, hope your job went well 👍
Good instructive video. Have a logic esp1 myself, hate it. Can’t wait to break it and put something else in.
Thanks mate, working on them I love doing logics, would I pick one for me house…no 😂
You can put this era of logic in service mode by putting heating control on e then doing the turns to max. I find it easier than guessing the 10 o clock postion
Didn’t know that top tip mate 👍
Good stuff buddy I need one of those karcher pressure washer, they look mint for our type of work
Them great mate, I was hesitant because of price but been brilliant 👍
Another great video
Thanks 🙌👍
Top Vid Luke - good hints and tips 👍🏾

Thanks mate, he said he enjoyed it 😂although his Thursday upload was a cracking video in the shower if you haven’t seen it 👍👍
@@bluebulldog_uk yes I saw it but its normally you doing the crap jobs so you don't get home early incase the misses gives you another shinner
👏🏻👏🏻
🙌👍
Great video,
I purchased one of the karcher washers, do you think they produced to much spray back when trying to clean a ideal hex?
Great tool but just think the back spray gets everywhere
Thanks mate, yes splash back is a pain I’ve started wrapping a towel around hex just to stop it dripping down 🙌👍
Great video mate. Subscribed! Ive got this exact boiler. Its began making a rattling noice on start up and also has started doing the same noise when hot water has been running. I had a company come and service hoping it would solve the problem but it hasnt.. could i send you a video to see if you recognise the noise n help diagnose?
Cheers
Yeah send a video mate, more than likely it’s the burner on them, the plate comes loose or they become blocked up 👍

Do you have any tips for replacing the sumps on Ideal atlantic boilers were there is a metal plate directly below the sump making it difficult to remove without taking the entire heat ex out?
Sorry mate hex has to come out on them
Be careful, I've been told not to use screwdrivers or anything metal whilst trying to pull the sump off as it's an aluminium heat exchanger and can damage easily
What a load of bollocks 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Quick question, I’ve not used that rapid blue stuff before but bought some. Is it effective when the rad isn’t new and I’m just changing the valves? Or should I just use it when both the rad and valves are new? Love your content. Keep it up 👍
Rapid blue I only use on new threads and rads etc, little bit of dirt or moisture and it won’t adhere…really good stuff thou 👍
@@bluebulldog_ukthanks for the reply. I shall stick to Ptfe when changing valves only 👍
You gotta prepare for the super safe gas engineers on this ine, "never show a customer how to do a job especially when the combustion seal is broken yada yada yada"... , the real ones like myself say fuck it earn a few coin off a video if you can, great vid bud, i need to find a better hobby than watching work after work 😂
Mate I plumb all day and talk/watch plumbing all night…it’s a lifestyle 😂😂👍 thanks for the support mate 🙌
😂❤
What determines if the sump needs changing?
If it’s leaking
You’ll see the crusting starting to form, if you shine a torch from inside sometimes you’ll see the split, also analyser around the area 👍
