@@marsocmaniac6806 It is hard work for sure, and you have to be really consistent with the quality of your product. My dad started his stall in 2008, it took us a couple of years to break even and to get our name out there. You have to be a little masochistic to be in the F&B business, and you have to love it.

@@j0n3sing interesting, thanks for the reply :) so do you support him /w finance/ accounting/ pricing stuff or is it basically a no-brainer by now?
And original question’s still out there: can you afford a proper apartment by now, and can he afford to have send you to one of the better schools in SG?

Sorry, I thought I’d answered your question. You can live comfortably and provide for your family but you need to put in the hard work. That’s what I meant by my answer. It may not be bungalows and mansions, expectations need to be tempered.

This hawker has one of the most hidden jems! But beware, a lot of those top rated food sold out in the early morning. I love their lor mee, 2 competitors there Xin Mei Xiang vs Xiang Ji, the super famous one (XMX) sold out before 9-10am? Which I will never get to try. The one that I gotten, XJ, taste awesomely delicious, and the fruit juice stall beside sells some great soursoup drink! And a lot a lot more to try if you go back again, I saw there’s also a good rated kway chap (To-Risco) there. Skip the nan sing Hokkien mee, get some affordable western at Holy Grill. Whitley road prawn noodle is not bad to settle cravings but not the best. Overall so much to try and hunt for. Luckily I don’t stay nearby, I will be so overdose with all these hawker food. Happy hunting!
