I haven't been to Singapore in 25 years but I can still taste the awesome food. Wonderful hard working people. and felt so safe. People still work hard I see but appear more casually dressed and slightly plumper. The nasi goreng and fish curry were my favorite. Time to make another trip!

The Singapore street food Hawker Centers were my favourite places to visit in times now gone past. You could find a seat and nurse a cold Tiger beer and order lots of small dishes, one after the other while ice cold beer was replenished. Usually ran up quite a hefty bill on these visits but the life, the smells, the noises and constant bustle were a treat to behold. The food usually fantastic and the black pepper crab maybe the best food I ever ate in my life. Nice video bring up a lot of memories, could almost feel the smell☺️
Hawker food is generally not healthy. A lot of the items are actually worse than McDonald's, albeit 1000 times tastier. It's more of a treat you have in moderation.

OMG, I'm watching the crab man around 14:00 and I have the very same cleaver, I purchased it in the Chinatown neighbourhood of my native Montréal. I'm almost a star, eh!!
I love hawker food in Singapore especially carrot cake and char kway teow. So cheap and so tasty. Really not a fan of how the chef in this video cut the crabs claws and tail flap off and before taking the head off and killing it. Completely unnecessary and stresses the crab out. Fortunately most Singapore chefs don't do it like this in my experience.
Your video is very sharp and focused. I love how you just tell the story by showing the stalls withOUT any commentating, UNneccessary music nor shenanigans. However, there was WAY TOO MUCH TIME spent at the crab stall. Otherwise, it was a pleasure to watch. Thank you.
Maybe it is because I refuse to eat bugs, but I was more than slightly horrified watching the live crab be butchered to make chili crab. I mean, would it be too much to stick them in a freezer for 10 minutes? I mean, he literally ripped their top shell off, after hacking the claws off while it's still struggling.
Not gonna lie but it was sad seeing those crabs all tied up just waiting to die and then having there claws chopped off while they are still alive. I do love this channel tho
I'm sorry it may be a stupid question to you, but what it's the meat on the inside of the sides of the helmet like, and is their a name for it? I've never had that before! I've never had that type of crab to be honest!! Only the soft shell crab or the king crab, blue crab and the smaller kind of like the king crab! Sorry the name escapes me now!
