  • I lost count of how many messages I received asking for this video. I hope everyone who asked gets to see this. With this tutorial you will be able to make a Queen Sized Bed Spread. I love this pattern and have made it many times because it turns out looking SO different every single time. It changes with the colors you choose, etc. If you want this to be a King Spread? Just add borders.
    We have patterns for this quilt and the baby quilt on our website now. (Also a much asked for pattern with our directions.) Please share it with your other quilting friends so that they too can make a Trip Around the World the easy way!!
    Here is a link to the patterns on our website: www.merrymabelmarket.com/quil...

    So beautiful! You simplify all the steps so well. I love that you don’t drag it on forever, but we can watch it as often as it takes to make our own. Thanks!!

    Thank you for demonstrating how to do the TAW. I'm working on a TAW using men's shirts (a request from a friend to use her father's shirts - 19 of them). The strip method wasn't used so I had to sew hundreds of 2.5" squares together but I did create strips using your advise on making "friends" with the colors, then I used your method shown on your baby size TAW (thank you for that). The top turned out beautiful. I'm also attempting to do a quilt-as-you-go method using quadrants or maybe 1/2. To make it even more interesting, the backing is made of 5" squares of the shirt material. I may be doing a lot of un-picking, who knows, but I love the challenge.

      Thank you for sharing your experience with us! I'm so glad you were able to have success. I too have made quilts from shirts. It's a lot more work, but pretty great in the end!

    Hi there, I started to learn patchworking when i fell in love with the Around the world and also the log cabin patterns. Both i have yet to make, but i have just my 3rd top to get quilted before i can make my dream ones. This one was a beauty with the pink against the black/brown, as it showed each off to it's best advantage. Thank you for sharing both how you garnered the colours and how you kept changing them around until you got it running in the right sequence for you. Crafty hugs from Norah, Glenochil, Scotland

    How many colors to use for a king size quilt

    • @merrymabelmarket
      @merrymabelmarket  5 месяцев назад

      Usually TATW quilts have 7-10 colors. But as usual...I vote to break any rules you ever want to. You can make a queen sized and add borders if you want. Or...just make your quilt bigger.

    • @pattyhanneken3615
      @pattyhanneken3615 5 месяцев назад

  • @KM-fe7xe
    @KM-fe7xe 4 месяца назад +1

    9 different fabrics, 1.5 yards each. How many to do a king? I’m guessing 15. 🤷‍♀️

    • @merrymabelmarket
      @merrymabelmarket  4 месяца назад +1

      I've done king quilts with the same 8-10 ish fabrics. You can make the squares bigger.... or you can fmake the squares smaller and have more rounds. Get graph paper and draw out what you want. Or just add borders.

    • @merrymabelmarket
      @merrymabelmarket  2 месяца назад

      That is the center and becomes your "guide" strip so you can build the rest of the quilt. OR - maybe you mean the strips that I laid down because they didn't need sewn into a circle to be ripped apart in the same place........because the blocks were already in the right place for the positions I put them in.
