Tony is happier behind the camera and still does a lot with the guys, apart from running Pattycake with Layne, he helps out on VP videos and sometimes Geoff's I think, and also makes some costumes.

I know the boys have been together since 1997, but THIS is the birth of the modern VOICEPLAY that we all know. They went out of their comfort zone into theatrics and costumes, and now that's what VP is known for, "the theater kids of acapella." As a lifelong Phantom phan (I've seen it live 3 times and "Music of the Night" was one of my final songs in college piano class) I absolutely love that they turned this into a banger. It works so well. Layne is amazing.
Get Voiceplay (with all their guest artists), Pattycake Productions, Home Free, and Pentatonix together. Now THAT would be one hell of a musical.
Tony sings a bit in A Crimpella
This song is awesome, the beginning of their theatrics, the beginning of them becoming the true Voiceplay we know and love. Tony is an absolute master in this, absolutely stunning dramatics and his "Sing! Sing for me!" gives me the same vibes as Geoff's "Sing! Keep singing!" from their Little Mermaid Medley...
Tony is happier backstage but is often in their BTS even now. We love Tony. Tony is an utter vibe and a total sweetheart too. Sometimes, in the Pattycake stuff that he and Layne write entirely, the performer is lip-synching in the video and Tony is singing (Bump in the Night is a great example of this). Tony also often does background voices for Pattycake stuff, as well as a LOT of costume pieces for Voiceplay, Geoff and, of course, Pattycake Productions.

I always thought it would be a good double reaction with PattyCake Productions’ Michaeleficent. (for those who haven’t seen it, it shows parts of the story of Maleficent Mistress of Evil set to Michael Jackson songs).
I really like all of the unexpected musicals, but that is far away my favorite and I always end up going out to listen to Once upon a Dream afterwards.😊

You heard that right the last note was layered, she sang a E5 and E6 and the E6 continued for a few seconds while the E5 stopped. As always you and Voiceplay never disappoint :)

It's not in a BTS (not sure there is one for this video) but Geoff explained the "mutilated hand" when they were interviewed by a local TV station before a concert, after they had released this video. He's a handy guy, done many home improvement projects, but had an accident while helping to build the set for Phantom. Involved his hand and a drill that slipped.
This is my favorite song with Tony. He's right there at Pattycake, often directing and doing costumes (he created Rachel's dress here) so my hope springs eternal that he'll sing with VP as a featured performer. If you want to see and hear him in a relatively recent video, watch Quarantine the Musical from Pattycake. That's Layne's youngest daughter drawing on Uncle Tony's face.
I too would love to hear Tony as a guest. I forgot about the quarantine song. I watched it an awful lot while I was housebound.

If you want more Tony with Voiceplay, there is also their ACA Top 10 Broadway video. Also he is in their ACA Top 10 Video Games. They also did an ACA Disney video of Disney Broadway songs but that video is on the Disney On Broadway youtube channel and not on the Voice Play channel.
This one set them on their path to the kind of stuff they do now. Previous to this, VP was used to exercising their theatrics through skits, like Road Trip, the Chicken Song, Auditions, etc. This is obviously completely different from all of that, and much closer to the kinds of stuff they do now.
Also this is by far the best non-seasonal thing they did while Tony was with them. (Seasonal selections include Grim Grinning Ghosts, First Noel.) Well, there's also Once Upon a Dream, but that's in another category (you'll know what I mean after you watch it, which I'm sure will happen eventually).
You noticed the cape flip - I love that! I think I read somewhere, that long long ago Tony was Count Dracula in Disney World ... there he got the experience. AND I think, this also comes naturally to him... 🎉😂❤
Yep, Tony played Dracula in the Beetlejuice Rock 'n' Roll Graveyard Revue for a time at Disney World. Some of his tenure even overlapped with Geoff and Kathy's.
Do miss Tony, but he does great stuff with pattycake but he is involved in the production of VPsongs /videos so still see him on behind the scenes stuff.

But no other real starring roles in videos. Audio only there’s more.
I recomend for you to watch stuck in traffic, it's another song with Tony as lead vocal, and as per usual he slays it
Why they acquired J. None is because Tony went from in front of the camera to behind them. There was a t.v. show here in the U.S. called the Sing-Off.....both VoicePlay and Home Free were on the show in the same season.....watch the challenges......i would suggest a scary one, is their cover of "Once Upon a Dream".......be warned though......>^^

I believe Tony’s cape-handling skills come from his time at Universal Beetlejuice Review where he played Dracula alongside Geoff’s Frankenstein’s Monster (and Kathy as the Monster’s Bride) At least I’m pretty sure he was in the same cast as them.
@@hwyla4416 I haven’t been able to find definitive proof, but I’m pretty sure that at least part of the time they performed together simply because Geoff and Kathy were in it for such a long time. I think that’s probably how they met him and ended up auditioning him when Scott left.

some of their old stuff that is audio only has some great remixes as well. Tony really loves behind the camera stuff so you rearly see him on screen anymore.
I do really enjoy this version. Tony does have a lovely voice, but as others have mentioned he really likes behind the scenes, and since he's done a lot to help Voiceplace and Geoff, he's still a part of the "family."
Since you seem to be quite the Phantom fan (which I'm right there with you) if you want another take (and one that has convinced me I need metal Phantom) you could check out another artist's (that I know you like) version. Jonathan Young's Phantom is really well done (so is his Past the Point of No Return and All I Ask of You.)
Another ‘song’ to hear from Tony is in a VoicePlay medley on the RUclips channel Disney on Broadway. Tony sings ‘A Whole New World’ in it. Also great in the medley is ‘Arabian Nights’ and a rather different version of ‘Kiss the Girl’ from Eli - well different at least from his version as Flounder in the Mermaid Medley.

Having seen Crawford and Brightman in POTO, I am a very picky Phan. And the first time I watched a few moments of this, I didn't like it as I didn't get it was A Capella. But then when I got into Voiceplay I watched it again, and now it's one of my favorite versions! I get goosebumps just from the intro!
I never liked the phantom of the opera but these guys turned it completely around.
Tony still has the mask. He said it was molded to his face so it'd be more comfortable to wear and sing in. It's really cool looking. He showed it to us in Pattycake Chat a couple months ago.
The only other thing they did with phantom is Aca top 10 Broadway.

A totally different genre, but given some of your comments, you might want to check out Nightwish - The Phantom of the Opera (Official Live), from End of An Era 2005. There is also a more recent Nightwish version featuring Henk Poort who was the Dutch Phantom, which is also excellent, but the 2005 performance is the most unique IMO.
