- My friend Dan lives in Highmore SD and has amassed about 300 cars and trucks from the hills and rural roads of South Dakota, which he sells and parts out. There are Fords, Chevys, Mopars, international trucks, etc.! The good thing about the high plains is that cars are usually less rusty than in the Midwest or east coast, so finding a car out here will put you way ahead in terms of bodywork and rust repair. Feel free to call and inquire on any of these old cars and trucks, they most likely are for sale!

That is a 1978 Mercury Capri, called a Ford Capri in England and Australia. That car is worth buying. 2.8 liter V6 with lots of go!! Engine originally developed in Germany. That is a car definitely worth buying and rebuilding. Those farmers sure liked 4 door cars, didn't they? I was thinking ho hum about all the cars until I saw the Packard in good shape, and that Kaiser had all the glass. All three of those cars would be a blast ro get back on the road again.
1978 would make it a Mk2 which would have a hatchback. This is a Mk1 Facelift 1972- 1975

It's a 74 Ford Capri. Last year of the MKI. You can tell by the big "5 mph bumper". The earlier Capris had small chrome bumpers.
so I'm glad you got the 59 ford correct. Them trucks next to it we just call them square body's.

Ford produced the Capri in the UK, the green example you showed looked identical to a 3 Ltr, Series 1, yellow Capri I almost bought at auction when I was 20 years old. The auto box had an issue, so I passed on it at the time 24:49

Ryan, you're correct about the Jaguar, looks be a Mk2, probably 3.8 Ltr engined car with leather interior and walnut veneer dash; the gangsters in London, Birmingham and Glasgow chose the Jag as their 'tool' of choice, which is why so many older UK movies and TV dramas where the villans leads the cops on a merry chase in the Jaguar 😊

The Ford pickup at 15:57 is pretty rare, it is a unibody pickup. If I remember correctly?

1961-1963 They still had a frame, but the cab, and bed were connected.
The Capri was a Ford in Europe, i think they were sold under the Mercury brand in the US for a short time
In recent years, I started to develop a soft spot for vintage International trucks like the one at 10:55. They just seem to be cool rigs.

With that said you should be proud of what you are doing . Am a Brooklyn boy even at this age I can tell some of these to put it were the sun does not shine, if they can not will not step to tell you what you should, ha, ha ,ha. You save as much of our history that you can ! I have 7 and the Mrs. Will shoot me if I bring one more home. Believe me you have show case some vehicles if I could many would be with me ! the Saab is probably a 93. I believe they came first with a 3 cylinder. 2 cycle engine. Later ones had a narrow angle V 4. The Jag is a Mark 1 or Mark 2 or possibly a Daimler. (think Firebird or Camero). The Daimler came with a 2 1/2 liter Aluminum. Hemi V8
Capri, made by Ford UK. Popular in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, 4 cylinder or V6.

Saab 96 would have to see the front to be able to tell you what year it is. I have 2 96s and a Sonet both 1968
23:20 Is a first gen (1970-1975) Mercury Capri produced by Ford of Europe, imported from Cologne, Germany. The 2800 is a V6, and that one looks to be a 1973 model. The 1979 to1986 version were based on the Ford (Fox Body) Mustang platform.

The blue Chevy pickups were 63. The 60, 61 had the bump on the outside of the hood 62, 63 the outside of the hoods were lower than the centers

60 and 61 also had four headlights, and 62 and 63 had two.
