Wow, what a collection of odd ball cars. That Cadillac is gorgeous! Those Dagmars really stand out. 😍 That Subaru deserves better than to be sitting there.. 😢
Well that was enjoyable, lovley camera work buddy, good choice not to have to much music too. Think id have to go for the big old 55 Caddy. Cheers man, take care 🤘
You have my attention. A buddy of mine in Central Georgia had an orange Volvo 142 with twin carburetors when we graduated from high school in 1981. I'd love to find out more about the one you showed at the beginning of the video.
@@DeanofMachines Thanks! I took a look at the other video; it's hard to say after 40 years... But the twin carbs and the exhaust setup look the same as my friend's car had.
The Opel Kadett was between 1200 and 1600 in Europe. The 1900 must have been for the US market only, possibly even the Canadian- And it would have been the same engine as in the Opel GT and in the european Opel Rekord, that ranged between 1700 and 1900. Fun fact: I passed my drivers test in Oslo, Norway in a Kadett 1200 back in 1971!
One of my workmates in the early 80's had an Opel GT that he was "working on." Not sure that it ever emerged from the garage. The German Opels were decent little cars. Then there were the rebadged Opels built by Isuzu for GM after that. Someone need to jump on that Subaru XZT (I think) with both feet...
The story is, the older gentleman that is selling off the cars grew up on the property. Is father who passed due to old age several years ago, worked at a dealership, (opel or packard I can’t recall which) back in the 60s/70s. He would buy up old cars people didnt want anymore and eventually had hundreds of cars in the woods. A lot of the cars are family owned that were driven until they broke and then something else was purchased. Since the father died, the family has been selling off parts and selling whole cars as much as they could. Most of what is shown in the video is “show up and make an offer”

I hope this isn't a look into my future LOL
That Toyota Corolla RT43 in the thumbnail was my first car at 16. (Not that exact car)My Dad gave it to me. I wish I could find that car near me.
It’s probably my favorite car at this place.
Hey Dean! Thanks for capturing this place! I liked the opels because I'm part volvo, part opel guy 🤣
I would not have expected you to be an Opel guy Marcin! I think they're neat old cars :)
@@DeanofMachines Here in Europe, they are very avarage people's cars. But the old ones are rare too. Love the kadett wagon!
@@marcinbujok7388 LOL Very average people? Typical GM product.
She said “I believe in you.” Wow! You are a very fortunate man.
I don't know what I would do without her...
I like the Cadillac, the Pinto, and the 1950’s Oldsmobile.
I could be persuaded into buying a cadillac :)
@@DeanofMachines The interesting thing about that one is the fuel cap placement. It’s UNDER the driver side tail light.
@@kilgree Cool as heck isn't it?

Hard to beat a yard walk around especially when there are old Volvos to be had...
That Caddy... VERY tempting...
@@DeanofMachines Totally agree! Wha a statement ride that would be!
I think once my 245 is done, I'd love to find an old Amazon to swap everything into, but finding them here in Mississippi is nearly impossible.
Your best bet is to follow the west coast groups and find a solid one. Some nice cars can be had
@@DeanofMachines I often see some decent Arizona/NM finds.
@@barrets6226 That's a good area too. I have dirty thoughts of flying out and driving one home but time/money being limited...

We have another video from around the same time that shows it in more detail.

Its fun how much things change names between markets.

I like the old Opels and that Subaru. Its too bad they are really worth anything
That half of a grin clip is from a Packard Clipper. The blue station wagon is an Opel wagon from when they were sold through Buick dealers.
Yeah this guy had a lot of opels!!
Omg! Dude I need those enkei center caps. Can you get them?
Its not impossible but highly improbable. This place is a couple hours from my home
That green Opel is a Manta. Think that replaced the GT. It had a 1900cc engine.
Wonder if they like boost…
What’s the story with all the cars? Was it a car dealer? Or was it some sort of scrapyard? Would have been cool if you interviewed the owner!

I have an 850 turbo also red, would be fun to watch If you buy that and get it back to life❤
That poor red wagon needs a motor :(.
@@DeanofMachines ok, hard to find over there??
Almost looks like in sweden, a lot of europen cars😊
I found this man's collection VERY interesting because of the euro cars. Stuff you don't see everyday here in the states.
