- Hey guys! I'm back with a new video of my favourite Webtoon of all time Tower of God, and with one of the most iconic moments in ToG history that just shook my emotions to the core! This is the moment where Rachel "died". Her existence was only important because of Baam, because of how he chased after her.
Now? After Baam left her because he found people that cares for him? She's nothing more than an insignificant girl who is clinging for her own existence.
And the fact that right now, the readers have pretty much forget her is such a sweet touch towards her character.
I just wished she suffered a little more
does she not exist anymore then, like in the manhwa does she not appear no more?
@@XanaxHypercarry Oh she appears, she even appeared in recent chapters. Fans hated her sure, but compared to earlier chapters like this one, their reactions is just that, "hate".
Because in the end of the day, no matter how higher Rachel is compared to Baam when it comes to climbing the tower, she doesn't deserve to be there in the first.
It's like, everyone doesn't really care what her grand plan is since all of us knew that she will probably die before she could get to her goal.

Hey don't drag us into this mess our existence has nothing to do with her we were originally summoned to protect the world when it was at the verge of extinction and still do the same even though I am envy the jealousy she is feeling is not envy that I am it's not jealousy but the will to survive she has to survive no matter what as a existence who came to light from bam she has to survive it's either she gets to the top of the tower which she can't or survive bcs of bam either as a villain or a coward

@@silfantomhifgaming Sure, killing her would have made everything feel more complete but at the same time, she's been put into her place(which also feels amazing) and now we know that bam will go for the kill next time.

That was the whole point. She was the opposite of Baam. He's basically a god; she's an ordinary person. Anyone could OHKO her, and yet she still found a way to climb the Tower. Some of it was from other powerful beings cheating on her behalf by granting her powerful protectors, some of it was from lying and manipulating others, and some was from her own relationships with others. She didn't climb fair and square or fight honorably, but she still was able to climb the Tower by working within her own limitations. I despised her when I first read the series, but as time has passed, I'm starting to see why the creator said Rachel was his favorite character.

Even if one detests the actions of a villain, in certain cases their sheer determination and will can be acknowledged.

@@Hydrobruv aye bro I’m not even gonna lie. I seen tower of god a long time ago on a RUclips ad from web toon. Wanted to read it but was always in school and always forgot to read it. Fast forward I see everybody talking about the anime and I just started watching it this year. It was my first time watching it n I started crying bruh. Cause I felt every single emotion in that damn anime. Never felt like that for anime especially with the music score to the first season. Shit was so angelic n added way more feelings and emotion to it

what i don't understand about rachel is we are told time and time again the higher you climb the pressure of shinsu increases how is her weak ass able to withstand that

@@hyperkaioken4982 Shinsoo thing is an anime only (Headon didn’t use Shinsoo on her),as you climb you get more and more resistant to it (example would be Shibisu who barely passed through Lero Ro barrier),also she is more resistant to it since she is after all an irregular… Also keep in mind that Rachel is not THAT weak,it’s just that original Bam party was THAT strong. He got into floor of test with actual monsters (by tower standards) which may be all orchestrated by Headon to give Bam strong companions (speculation)…

There's serious resentment and admiration for Baam with Rachel. She's honestly a great character. I feel like once her story is told, it may not justify her actions, but it'll be sympathetic enough to make you think you'd do some things similarly. She just gives that feeling. There's something admirable, and fascinating, about a weak person with potentially god-like ambition.
Ok I absolutely hate her but compared to other characters like white and lilial jahad she don't need that much hate all she did was attempt to kill bam and kill ark raptor and get in the way of bams plan, but compared to white who killed billions and other people who are way worse she don't need that much hate.
Bam has no resentment for her at all. he genuinely still cares for her and will save her life if it comes down to it
She may have a interesting backstory related towards Baam, but there’s nothing that can excuse his Behavior, especially when she doesn’t see anything wrong with them

As much as I dislike Rachel, I am also very curious to know her story. I don't believe it to be plain jealousy.
She may have good intentions but she’s doing the opposite of good intentions even she tells the truth, still a snake too me and nothing will change that.
I'm trying to read Tower of God but all I see is a boy simping for a girl and climbing a tower for her and nothing else and that very girl end up betraying him, there's no more plot apart from that, very boring, I wonder why people like this one
@@likeafallenangel4208 keep reading, Bam gets really great character development. BTW Bam doesn't simp for Rachel, it's because she was his light, but that light extinguished after Rachel pushed him. Trust me, it gets better despite it being annoying sometimes.
"Good intentions" She tried to kill him, she's EVIL, she's a classic abuser, she used him and forced him to become so attached to her that he couldn't function without her. That's classic abuser tactics.

Damn only reason after S2 he continues climbing is for the sake of all of his friends and to find about why she tried to kill him... untill it becomes clear that there is no redemption for her.. after that he is just climbing to find himself and to find answers about what really happened and why tower actually choose him and opened the gates for him
Yeah I can agree with you. Rachel just lost and despite her choice like telling Baam why he was locked up. It doesn't matter, girl. It's what she did and doesn't excuse her to commit such action.

Rachel : Jealous is Something that is human nature.. depending on the Person you like or hate it also can take you in a dark path for things you do.. but if u have s1 like baam then u wouldnt be stopped. u will be stopped when the dmg is already done. I respect your point that it may not be the case but do remember that in webtoon it's stated clearly as story progresses that bam even till the end ignored recheal's horrible mistakes cuz he loved her until recheal made his friends go in coma..that's when he just stopped his affection.

While bam is like a fairytail classic protag who gets all blessings and op powers and even die hearted friends rachel being his opposite has to trample over and use others to climb. She is selfish and greedy, weak with a strong will and has big dream but lack strength. So they are literally opposites rachel being like that is the only way her character can be interesting since she is underpowered

I really like reachel. I would like to know more about her. Bam... uhm well... it feels, that the script always help him and... it gets boring
Rachel is a lozzer full of insecurities, hate, jealousy and envy. No sympathy for me. She already outlived her purpose, she doesn't bring anything to the story. Giving her more screentime is a waste of panels.
To me rachel is a character that has LONG outlived her purpose.
Rachel's propose was to get bam to go to the tower and that's it.
Her purpose was to get bam to start his journey in the tower and thats it.
The authors attempts to keep her relevent after her purpose is done by giving her so much stuff to keep her relevent is utter pointless and it is rage inducing.
It is like if mizuki from naruto escaped naruto and iruka before he got beat up by naruto and then randomly shows up during the rest of the story with power ups and protection that came from nowhere just so he could screw with naruto and survive naruto's growing powerset only to somehow escape from being killed by naruto and the cycle repeats.
Heck rachel lack of anything is proof the author can't think of a use for her anymore.
So she is just in the story and that's it.
She just exists in the story and that's it.
well yes and no. She most likely has a part to play. She's the one who starts the story about her going up the tower and seeing the stars and Bam who followed her

She HAD a part to play.
She is either never going to achieve her plan or her plan will be cut short before it can even be finished and that is if she doesn't fade into the background of the story.
In which could actually happen since she doesn't really have a purpose anymore.
She had only 2 reason to be in the story.
To get bam to the tower and to have bam chase after her.
At this point in the story, those 2 reasons don't exist anymore.
Bam is now in the tower, and isn't chasing after her anymore.
That's why I called her "a character that has outlived it's propose" and not "a character that shouldn't exist".
She WAS needed in the story, keyword "WAS".
She is not needed anymore.
And i think in hindsight, that is genius way to handle her character.
She wanted to be important so badly, but no matter how hard she tries...
She is destined to just fade into the background once she was no longer needed.
I would say Rachel still has one thing. She does seem to possess knowledge about Arlene (Bam's Mother) and some backstory on Bam.

She is a plot device, not a heroine.
