After Gilgamesh takes Illya's heart (uugh D:) Shirou has a bit of a breakdown from not having managed to save her and Rin tries to help him. He ends up telling her about his past. Then our duo receives an interesting team up offer from an unlikely ally? o.o Hhmm...We kinda need the help, soooo I guess Lancer's part of the group now XD

Great catch about Lancer having once had a female master! It's not mentioned much in Fate/Stay Night, but is in fact a central plot point of the sequel Fate/Hollow Ataraxia (which unfortunately doesn't have any sort of anime adaptations yet)!

Lancer, Rin and Shirou are great. Their interactions are some of the best parts of the series.
Both Lancers "you sure about that?" smug face and Rin D: face are mems online. They are great.
Lancer is usually a fan fav in each war. Always a fun characater.
We also finally start getting our glimpses into Shirou's mind, why he wants to be a hero and sacrafice everything to save people. Hes just as broken as Kiritsugu so the apple didnt fall far.
Shirou really isnt doing it for himself, he truely thinks its right to sacrafice himself for others because that will make them happy. He has 0 self worth, as Rin said he is like a machine.
And again its very similar to Kiritsugu who wanted to end war by his own hands knowing full well a world without war would have no need for him and that was fine as long as his family was happy.
