Caliburn was pulled from the stone. Excalibur was given by the fairies in FATE and from the lady of the lake in history.
@@skychieftain Lostbelts are failed Pan-Human History, but the event from Avalon is just the same to the real History right? By that, I meant Lostbelt 6, Avalon Le Fae. The event where the Fairies forged Excalibur and get handed to an unknown hero in order to defeat Sefar, or just the original Zero and Stay Night ancient histories are just different to what happened in Extra and FGO. Seriously my god, Fate never ceast to amazes me to how complicated the entire thing is.

Of course they do. That's the part of rules that was left out: if you summon a spirit _without_ a catalyst, the Grail chooses someone psychologically compatible with you. But since "fame" plays major role in how powerful a Spirit is, most mages try to summon a renown figure and may end up clashing with them. As you'll see.
So It can be said that He was very lucky to summon such a strong Servant🗿 but since He didn't know nor understand about the Holy Grail thing which probably why He seem don't know how to use the Mana Order something☠️
Others are lucky this dude just normal Human and only following His desires plus His Servant also seem dumb🙈 the Dude didn't try to Dodge or do anything to block the attack but that probably bcz His Master died and even if still alive, He don't know how to use the Order to save Him😬🤷🏻

To be fair, unless you have access to the original visual novel and 100+ hours at your disposal, it’s either Zero or UBW, both of which will spoil something important about the other.
And no, I don’t ever recommend starting with Studio Deen’s FSN adaptation. That will guarantee the newcomer will lose interest.
@@Nobythulhu Nope. I found it perfectly fine, to be honest. (I mean, I was already set to see it through, but still... it was pretty good. Certainly not as bad as people make it out to be.)
And as a sidenote, I personally hate that people start with Zero. It´s a prequel, you´re already supposed to have at least some knowledge. That aside, it spoils way more stuff (and more important) than other way around.

Lol spare them, i honestly thought King Arthur were a real human/hero in the past and i didn't know that Merlin and King Arthur was from the same legend. There were times where i thought, so bold of Japan to change the gender of some hero of another country? (Back then gudaguda was not exist yet, no swap-gendered okita and nobu)
Funfact: there isn't much historical proof for existence of King Arthur. We know that he probably existed, yet contemporary sources never seem to mention him, we just know that name artorius became more common after that time suggesting that he really did exist. Best proof is battle of mount badon. Even then its most likely that the king arthur we think of is really just an amalgamation of like 5 different kings, most interesting being word 'Arth' in celtic translating as 'bear' which was the nickname of one of the 5 people i mentioned - Ambrosius Aurelianus.
To add more fun to this, fate actually does explore this for robin hood - there was no original, just a bunch of people who took on the mantle of robin hood. Its seen in Fate/Grand Order.

So I will just explain who the servants who have already had their names and identitys revealed are historically and mythologically irl, notice that the Fate series takes some liberties with historical and mythological fiction so some things in the series may be a bit different then the og myths and history of characters(which is why King Arthur is a woman in the series while in the og myth/semi-historical account he’s clearly a man)
Historically King Arthur was the leader of the Celtic Roman Britons who unified several petty kingdoms in the period between Roman Britain and the Anglo Saxon conquest of Britain which was a time of constant war between petty kingdoms of the Roman celts, this King Arthur whose name was likely the Latin version “Arturious” was a great leader of the Roman celtic britons and lead a big resistance against the Anglo Saxon invasion which lead to a prolonged period of relative peace, his story is heavily romanticized but it is somewhat agreed that there was a King Arthur who did existed and did led a resistance against the Germanic invaders of Britain in his romanticized story he’s the great ruler of England and leads the knights of the round table in great battles and adventures and his great legend is defined by the legend of the holy grail and the knights search for it
The first servant you saw: Iskandar is another name for the legendary but very real and historical commander of men and the conqueror of the Persian empire, ruler of the Greeks and many other nations, the king of Macedonia: Alexander the Great who over the 30 years his life lasted managed to defeat all enemies in his way and conquer the Persian achamenid empire
Hassan the assassin was the great Islamic assasin leader of the order of the Hashassin which was a semi monastic order of Religious Islamic assassins who eventually fell to the mongol empire ,their order actually is the main inspiration for the Assasins creed original video game series.
Gilgamesh is considered to be the first recorded great hero and he was the king of a Sumerian city state named Uruk, his story tells of his greatness, hubris,arrogance and abuse of his citizens until he met a creature named Enkidu who was a wild man who could match him in physical and intelectual strength after they fought they became friends and went on to rule Uruk more kindly and benevolently gilgamesh being the king and enkidu his advisor, they would go on to defeat the gigant Umbaba(I believe that’s the name of it) and although that part of the story is a bit iffy since the tablets containing the specifics of the fight were a bit damaged at the end it appears that gilgamesh and enkidu are victorious and the goddess Ishtar comes to attempt to seduce gilgamesh but in a somewhat humorous turn of events he goes full “bros before hoes and you a bitch” on her and turns her down there’s a reason for that since Ishtar being the Godess of life love and death had a bad habit of killing her husbands but the way he turned her down was bad idea it turns out since that while she couldn’t hurt Gilgamesh since he was a favorite of the Gods she could still hurt enkidu which she did and she made him sick and he died after that Gilgamesh despairs and goes on a quest for immortality where he fights gigant scorpions and gets a pet lion and then Mets Sumerian Noah(it’s literaly a dude with an ark who saved humankind and all animals from a great flood which was sent to punish the sins of mankind…it’s Noah) and then in his quest he is denied immortality but Sumerian Noah takes pitty on him and tells him off a flower under the sea which will not grant him immortality but will keep him young and healthy while he lives while also extending his life, gilgamesh goes and finds the flower but then Ishtar(the bitch) turns into a snake and eats it while he sleeps, gilgamesh despairs but somehow enkidu comes back(not very clear why tablets are damaged) and brings Gilgamesh back to his lovely city state and kingdom while explaining to him that his immortality was already achieved as people would tell his tale as a great hero forever more.
If you want to know who the other servants are by all means ask and I’ll explain you their story, I’m a history(and law but that doesn’t matter here) major after all and would love to talk about those characters more.
Little correction, like many mythical figures, "King Arthur" seems to be a narrative amalgation of about 5 different kings, not a single one. So historically "King Arthur" as an individual never existed. However the legend of King Arthur is basedon several kings that did exist.

Fun fact: the historical basis for King Arthur was a Roman soldier named Artorius. The same Artorius that Askeladd believed in
Eh, that's heavily debated. There's many different competing theories. Most likely, he's just a legend and the only "historical" basis for him is an amalgamation of stories of many different kings around a certain geographical area in Welsh, who fought back the invading Saxons. But there is no proven historical basis for King Arthur, just theories.
Archer and Rider are my favorite character in fate zero. Acher is a more complex character than he seems. You can fully understand this by looking at all the series, especially the one dedicated to him FGO Babylonia. Rider I love the relationship he has managed to build with his master.

Gilgamesh the king of heroes he's given the title as he's history's first known hero with his actual irl legend dating back over 4,000 years ago. Being the most powerful servant in the main Fate series excluding the FGO mobile game, you'll see why he's one of the most memorable characters in all of Fate for more than just his overwhelming strength.
Well actually the Indian epics date to much before Gilgamesh's time so they existed way before him.

@@jaredhipfnner1262 it is already confirmed that the Mahabharata had existed 5000 years BC, with Ramayana occurring much before that. So the Indian servants are much older than Gilgamesh.
@@skychieftain Must correct you this is based on the date of when the epic was found when it's been dated to be created and the Mahabharata epic is between 5000 bc to 3000 bc where the epic of Gilgamesh is 4000 bc so it's not confirmed if it's older or newer so you can't say for sure that it's 5000 BC it's either that or around 3000 BC i looked it up. Plus didn't I just say I exclude FGO? Dude they're still making new servants at this point they've made so many it's impossible to keep count so who cares XD 4000 years ago is pretty freaking old so leave it at that

If you’re main weapon to fight is any form of projectile no matter what you throw arrow s bullets blades ect. You’re an archer.
To be honest, Archers are by far the most loose concept in Fate. Barely any archer is actually an archer. Many of them don't even specialize in long-range combat.
I've not seen this in the comments so i felt it had to be said at some point : servants can be summonned with different roles... Arthur(ia) can be a Saber or a Rider for example, and in both role, she'll have a good skill with both swords and mounts... They need to have 7 roles and sometimes it requires that flexibility to achieve that.
Yeah. They also never summon the full hero, just the one aspect of them that fits the role the best. So different versions of the same servant can have different personalities. Though servants seem to be aware of their different class versions. Cu Culainn in Grand Order was a caster, and he said he kinda hates that because the fight would have been so much easier as a lancer.
It would be nice if you guys react to the entire franchise, Fate Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works, Fate Heaven's Feel, Fate Aprocrypha, Fate/Grand Order Babylonia(it has a movie Fate/Grand Order Camelot and a continuation Fate/Grand Order: Shuukyoku Tokuiten)and Lord El Melloi II Case Files. Fate/Grand Order Camelot came later, but happens before Babylonia
In the Fate universe the Appearence of Heroic Spirits summoned back in time isn't the one they actually had in their time, they can be even completely different, including gender and species, 'cause they are influenced by an enormous amount of details, by their myths, the voices about them, even by moral points of view and possibly also by totally fake news. But those details have never been clear enough in these anime adaptations unfortunately, In the games there are characters that are totally different despite being the same historical/legendary/mythological/folklorists figure, like a King of Knights that is effectively a Man, and another one that is the King of Knights in the vest of a cruel tyrant as his enemies at the time described him.
So if some genders or personalities or other details aren't effectively right, in those cases is everything perfectly logic and fine.

He pulled the sword from the stone out of the stone. That sword was NOT Excalibur. He gets Excalibur much later from the Lady in the Lake. The sword in the stone is not excalibur, neither in Fate nor in the "real" King Arthur legend.

Saber is different from the rest of the servants. She's the only servant that was summoned that can't turn into spirit form. Why?... coz she was summoned with a physical body. She made a contract with the counter force moments before her death so she can be summoned and participate to the holy Grail War to have her wish be granted. So she was not being summoned directly from the throne of heroes. This Arthur is not a copy from the throne but king Arthur herself.
And also differs from the other Servants in that she remembers the events that happened during her other summonings. Though I cant remember if Zero is the first time she is summoned.
