    I’m gonna sound like a serious a-hole by saying this, but the only way to really compete and get people to read your stuff is to come out with the entire product all at once or weekly chapters like mangaka in Japan. Bi-weekly, maybe, but that’s my opinion on it. Sorry to whoever this may offend but when you’ve got gege akutamo coming out w chapters on a weekly basis and it’s the top manga in the world you kinda need to step it up to the point of putting yourself in an early grave or just work until you can put the entire product out. 😩

      And that’s exactly why most of those series are trash, respectfully. I mean imagine trying to release a 20 pages manga in a single week, how are gonna plot it properly and even draw it how you would like to? It just becomes convoluted and unimportant in the long run. This is why I stopped reading those weekly stuffs

      I totally agree. I’m producing much of my series before I even release the first chapter for this reason👍🏼

      Or you could go the European route and release a 180 page , hard cover bound, full color volume, once a year.

    Sounds like a dedicated social media person would benefit them. And a small advertising budget to run ads on those sites.

    Im gonna do some math. The average volume consist of about 10-12 chapters so MINIMUM these young men, because they are early 20s, are looking at about 30 years before this whole story is completed at 10-12 chapters a year. But let's be generous and say 5 chapters a volume that way they get a month for breaks, and can pump out 2 volumes a year were still looking 15 years tops. That's a lot.....for a first story and I get loving the craft but.....I say only do 5 or 6 volumes because you gotta think the artists health and your own

      I was going to say the same thing! Its not just about drawing the chapters, books need time for prepress and print.
      All your lives will change a lot in 5-10 years, let alone 30. WSJ pump out a book per quarter so its closer to 8-9 years IF it doesnt get axed before then.
      Bleach was axed after 15 years .
      Consider breaking it up and doing shorter stories in the same world. It will give you more room to flex with life.

    I also wanna add please for the love of god STOP TRYING TO BE ODA!!!! Managaka in japan of bigger publishing companies (shonen jump etc) give artist like 6-9 assistant to help with productivity. If you think oda, kishimoto, kohei, gege the big names in the world are drawing each chapter BY THEMSELVES you are mistaken. And just because a story is long DOESN'T make it good. AOT was only 120-130 chapters i believe and its seen as one of goat mangas.

    Great video man keep it up truly inspiring I have the first book pretty much done. I have left is a couple of pages however, it happened again blacked out started seizing basically had another seizure It’s OK I’ve got medication for it however, I must put GUNBLADE on hold but this doesn’t mean I’ll stop working I’ll still do the one shots. I have two of them planned for next year. I’ll still do that one chapter 20 pages 4 to 6 panels per page. But that’s it to samurai the gunslinger is on a brief hiatus for now, I have to prioritize my health and my life. Keep it up Koffee

    30 volumes? I love the optimism. Ive been following this project for a while, the premise is ok, typical god stuff but im rooting for them

      Blue exorcist is been running for 15 years and just hit volume 31.
      Ehh... they have to be more realistic and cut the intended plan into half so 15 volumes, I believe they would able to wrap whole story up in that time span and it would be more conhensive. I'm just being realistic, cuz 30 vol is alot.. weekly or monthly... espcially with little to no budget

    • @frankford2207
      @frankford2207 2 месяца назад +2

      @@bloodnessx I know 30 is a lot but I didn't want to be that guy 🤣. But if we look at the average chapter per volume ratio this story will take like 30 years to finish which is a bad investment both financially and for life

      @@bloodnessx Unless you are using AI or have a staff working with you forget doing 30 volumes anytime soon, life is unpredictable.
