Just wanted to say thank you for saving us 600 bucks quoted repair bill. We got the backing plate and springs for 16 bucks from our local shop. The oil almost cost more than that. Thanks again!
Not sure who is giving this video thumbs down... This is a fantastic video! Mine looked basically identical to the one shown here. I only wish I were able to buy all my parts for $38 - lol. Thanks for making the video!
Thanks a lot for posting this video. This was the issue in my Panther 440 that was stuck in reverse. One of the pins had snapped and the other two were in bad shape.
Great video but my only question is. How tight/ loose do you make the spring bolt that holds the gears together? I must've had it too tight as it would shift into reverse so i backed the bolt out a little and it shifts but springs back into forward. I don't wanna loosen that bolt too much as it hold the gears together but it seems like it could be loosen a little more.
do you have a picture or video of what the chain case looks assembled before you put the cover on? I'm trying to figure out how tight the bottom gears are suppose to look.
Thanks for the video. Got a 600 zrt triple that grinds when put into reverse. It does not engage just grinds. Forward works still but having no reverse kinda sucks with a heavy sled. Hopefully it is similar issue.
Good video overall....it would be a big help if you did mention the sizes of the bolts and allen screws you encountered ....and the type of oil you used to refill the case..otherwise Liked and thumbs up...thank you
I have a 99 Pantera 580 that is stuck in neutral. going to attack it tomorrow, wondering if the gearing will be the same. my shift lever actually goes in on the front side of the chaincase though. thanks.
I am getting a grinding/ skipping sound haven't opened it up yet would Warn pins cause a grinding noise forward won't go forward or reverse just sounds like grinding/skipping
Hi, I have a 02 ZL 800SS and it stays in forward, but when I pull the reverse arm(Which is loose) out to engage the reverse, it goes into neutral and wont move, and it sounds as if the gear is just spinning freely in the chaincase and not engaging, while it will the go back into forward if I "disengage" the reverse... I wondering if this in this video could cause that too or if it's something else like a spring or something. Obviously its hard to tell with out seeing it but any help is appreciated

I have some what the same problem..the thing with mine is whenever I full the 2 wheel leaver in wont go forward nor back but if I push in the leaver to 4x4 it has no problem going forward and back..what would my issue with my atv? Pls help
In my option Arctic Cat engineers messed up. They added electric start and had to add a bracket to support the tray . This is when the problem starts.... the problem starts. For non electric start models the design is fine without the tray. Why ...Because the battery tray bracket and the attachment point at the transmission case interferes with the mechanical arm mechanism as it spaces the bolt out the distance of the bracket ..and to make a long story short limits the stroke of the engage /disengage reverse gear assy. This causes improper adjustment issues and can not be fixed without modifying either the bracket or the shift lever arm.
I believe I am having the same issue that you describe. I am having a hard time to get the linkage adjusted properly. It won't fully engage reverse. How do I go about making the proper modifications?

Music was tastefully done at a reasonable volume as to not distract from content. Well done. Not many grasp this concept.
