    Extremely helpful video that got my reverse working. I just want to mention some of the things I ran into while doing this repair as my actuator was the older version with the white gear case (Part #0630-284). The actuator in this video replaces my original white actuator. My sled is an 07 F8 Sno Pro. To remove the actuator you have to remove 3 bolts. To remove the 2 bolts on the inside, you have to remove the plastic plugs to get access to the bolts through the tunnel. Once all three bolts are removed the actuator will still be semi tight to the diamond drive. All you have to do is pull the actuator away from the diamond drive towards the seat to loosen it. Then just pull it from the mounting area.
    At this point I did just as the video says. I had to pull really hard to remove the worm drive from the bottom section. I could not figure out how to remove the outside plastic plate on the white gear case, so I just sprayed WD-40 down the hole and rotated the outside gear so the oil would penetrate. After I pulled the worm drive from the bottom white gear case, the 2 brushes fell out along with their springs. Putting this all back together was the most difficult part. I ended up putting the spring in then pushing the copper block onto the spring. Once it was compressed with my finger, I used a toothpick to hold it in place while I compressed the second copper block. I then put a toothpick in to hold the second block. While the toothpicks held the copper blocks (brushes?) I installed the worm drive back into the bottom white gear case. Once it was install I pulled the toothpicks so the blocks touched the worm drive. I just thought this might help someone looking to do this repair with an older sled. Good Luck.

      Thanks for the write up. I'm having similar issues. If I play with the sensor it will eventually go into reverse. I'm thinking the actuator maybe weak. With all the revisions I'm betting the latest actuator uses different grease and has a stronger motor. So I'm going to update mine.

    Thanks Steve,nice vid! Can you ask the AC factory to install a 30 amp "groomer" fuse on the Groomer Special! I have blown the 20 amp about a dozen times in 500 miles of xc- trail grooming. So far the reverse actuator is holding up.

    Do you have a video that shows how to change the actuator? Does the skid and the Diamond Drive have to come out?

      No need to pull DD. Also you can pull dd without removing skid. Just pill secondary and take out all the bolts holding it on and it slides right off.

    are there special precautions when reinstalling the actuator as far as indexing the actuator to the shift fork?

    How do you remove the 2 screws holding the actuator from inside the tunnel? I can't find a tool that will fit...

      I cant seem to get the actuator out after removing the screw. how do you get it off the sled??

    • @edburns5155
      @edburns5155 4 года назад

      You have to remove the plastic plugs from inside the tunnel to have a straight shot at those 2 screws.

      @@davidfalcone4568 Once all three screws are out you just pull the actuator towards the seat/away from the diamond drive. Then it should be loose to pull out.

    that works only if the plastic gear is ok i have tried many now and only got a couple to work and you should have changed out the switch as well

    Would be nice if removing the actuator was included.
