- Joel Klatt shared his thoughts on the Ohio State Buckeyes spring football game. He shared that he thinks Jeremiah Smith will be one of the better players in college football. Joel explained why he thinks that Ohio State’s defense will be one of the best defenses in the sport. Then, he broke down the Buckeyes’ impressive offense and talked about the QB battle between Will Howard, Devin Brown, Julian Sayin, Lincoln Kienholtz and Air Noland.

I was at the game. The coaching staff held back a lot with the offensive playcalling. That defense will be nasty. Especially the secondary where I saw a lot of depth. Idk about undefeated but it would be nice. I’ll wait and see. Go Bucks

This going to be a long season for everybody especially the top 12 I don’t think there will be an undefeated team in college football this year. Even the Super Bowl champ drops a couple games. Going to be interesting to see how depth plays a roll this year especially for everyone.
Great point. I was also thinking about the NFL when I realized how many games CFB will be playing. As an OSU fan, I assume that people will be ready to jump on them the minute they lose a game, which I think they’ll at least lose once, especially because of the extra hype this year. But almost no NFL teams are able to go 16-0, so of course it’ll be hard for anyone to do that in college. I also realized that depth was being taken into account when I saw OSU get Judkins. So, yes, depth will be bigger than ever. Yeah, this year will be much different than the rest.
Ohio State should have a memorable day November 2nd. Go Buckeyes.

Hey Joel, I remember the good old days when you were playing quarterback for Colorado. It was so dope how you'd loudly announce the play you were running to the defense on every down, since we all know it totally doesnt matter 🙄🙄🙄
This is very likely the best - "collection of talent" - of nearly all the teams out there. Question is if they are able to play as a team - 'like that' - when needed the most ? --- Perhaps - with this collection of coaching talent ( ? ) - 'that' - may happen ? Save some luck with a lack of serious injuries ? --- If this team is able to - "handle" - both Oregon -&- Michigan - they likely are good enough to also beat Georgia - in my opinion. -- 🤔-- Of course 'that' remains to be seen - but - won't it be fun to watch ? 🤗

Buckeyes are always loaded with talent. It is also true that they always underachieve relative to that talent.
Ryan Day couldn’t win the Big10 with CJ Stroud, Jaxson Smith-Njigba, Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, and Treveon Henderson, not to mention multiple 4 and 5-star linemen.
Why would anyone think he could do it with less talented, unproven players?
It was smart to bring in Chip Kelly, so when Day disappoints again, you can have him step in as head coach.
Ohio state acting like all they have to do to win the natty this year is show up, cocky as usual. Idk about anyone else but OSU’s O line looks like it’s going to average again which means those 3rd and 2s are going to be a problem again. And despite what the fans say, I think they may have big problems at QB again this year.

Very true. But this year they’re elite in the most elitely elite eliteness!!! They have UCLA’s coach calling in plays to KState’s QB to hand the ball to Ole Miss’ RB. Apparently the 15 5-stars weren’t enough to get it done. And who needs an offensive line anyway?! 🤷🏼♂️
They have Jeremiah Smith! He’ll follow in the footsteps of Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Marvin Harrison, drafting high after winning……..nothing. Lol.

That coverage was horrible. Instead of watching Devin Brown lead a TD drive, we had to listen to and watch this guy talk to Ryan Day. We want to see the players. Do better next time.

The one consistent criticism of Ohio State since Day took over is that it is a soft program. Welp, not tackling during the spring game won't change this narrative. Joel is once again doing his best to push the Big 10 narrative that his employer wants.

Ohio State's success will live or die on the offensive line. When Joel Klatt says they may have some ''growing pains" I want to cringe, because it's literally the same line as last year (plus McClaughlin). They had a year's worth of growing pains last year. It ain't good! That's concerning because 1. It's the same line and 2. It's being coached by the same assistant who should have been the first one fired! Not only should Justin Frye have been fired, he shouldn't have been allowed on the plane after the bowl game! Why Ryan Day sticks his neck out for his buddy is beyond me.

Interesting take.. wasn’t the OSU defense last year a top defense? And having a struggling offense would put MORE pressure on the defense, so your logic is backwards. We watched the OSU defense shut out a lot of offenses last year. Michigan out up points. Michigan was also gifted the first TD, played with a shortened field position and had turnovers to help em. That’s why they won the game.
