- Joel Klatt revealed his way to early top five teams of the 2024 season. He explained why he ranked Alabama where he did and speculated what the offense will look like with new HC Kalen DeBoer and new OC Ryan Grubb. Joel explained why Oregon is ranked higher than Alabama and has faith in Dan Lanning and the strength of the team. He explained why he believed Ohio State will come back stronger with their additions in the portal and players coming back.

It’s uncomfortable to acknowledge that Kirby and Georgia figure to be the best program moving forward and are built the closest to what Bama has been. The media REALLY doesn’t want a Bama 2.0 on their hands (Klatt is usually at least respectful when talking Georgia even though he only goes over them briefly others aren’t so nice).

Really excited to see what Alabama does. As Georgia fan, I want the dawgs to play the best. We have a pretty tough schedule.
Joel hates on UGA too much I think, only spent 2 minutes talking about his number one team.
It is definitely a tough schedule but there's several of those across the SEC. Look at the beating Fla. is gonna take. The UGA schedule looks good compared to what the gators got.

Joel, Oregon is much better than just 2 deep. Almost all 5 on the depth chart at almost every position are super talented. You are also the only one that has Ohio state ranked higher than Oregon.
Ohio State has the same kind of talent. It is all subjective anyway and things will change again before the start of the season probably.

I think Oregon is the 3rd or 4th most talented team right now. As a UGA fan and Dan Lanning being former coach I knew he would have Oregon in right place in a couple seasons playing at a high level.. Oregon should be a contender for Big 10 champ and playoff contender in 2024.
If he comes in and has them top 5 after the purge it would definitely be a great hire

Any talk of Milroe for Heisman is silly. He is a RB playing QB. DeBoer & Grubb will ensure BAMA has a QB playing QB. Milroe will either transfer schools or transfer positions, which I hope it is the later.

All these teams poaching off Alabama after Saban left. If Deboer does the unthinkable and wins it all, I don’t want to hear that they had the best recruiting class, they are literally losing all their key players and with what Deboer has left, if he does win it all. I’ll be very impressive. I believe that 5 is a good rank Alabama to be in that spot. Deboer has a lot of work to do and I only wish for him to do well because Deboer doesn’t get the respect he deserves.

Yeah, success in the Mountain West is a good indicator of success in the SEC. Putting Bama at #5 is more about the past than the present.
Regarding Arch vs Ewers, fans and talking heads can pore over whatever they like, but Sark makes the decisions. It looks like the Mannings are thinking long-term, so Arch doesn't have to start anytime this season.

@@mackhudson8815 yeah, definitely could be. I know Texas gets Georgia here in Austin the week following our rivalry game vs Oklahoma so there’s no telling how Texas will play. Georgia is Georgia and Texas has a number of critical personnel/coaching changes moving into the 2024 season. Will surely be an interesting adjustment period.
Day needs to give play calling to hartline. Days offense is schemed around what Urban built, but ohio state doesnt have that elite dual threat QB which urbans style revolved completely around.
Days offense in NOT built around what Urban did.....Urban brought a zone read offense where his quarterbacks were runners first and passers second, that didn't start to change until Day came in (they won a Natty because Cardale Jones was a pass first qb, when Barrett went down, and oh by the way Zeke had his best games under that forced change). Under Day in last three years, his QB's do not run, even if they have the ability (CJ Stroud).

The diff is MI is returning ONE starter on offense. UGA offense in 23 returned about 6 starters from 22.
Georgia wasn’t preseason #1 in 2022, they were 3rd behind Bama and Ohio State. They were #1 last season because they’d won back to back championships and had earned unlimited benefit of the doubt. Michigan hasn’t won back to back titles and they also don’t return as much as UGA did last year.

What has Arch Manning done ever?? He played in the weakest Division in Louisiana HS Football, Never competed against like competition, avoided every Nation Event there was, only threw for coaches behind closed doors...yet was given..yes, GIVEN the #1 overall ranking and by some the "best" HS prospect in decades (which was designated to Quinn Ewers the year before) based on his last name...and Genetics'...but if we are taking DNA, his daddy had a degenerative neck that ended his career early, his uncle Peyton had a degenerative neck...so lets factor in all the "DNA or genetics". Plus having Uncles who were probably more focused on leading their respective teams to the Super Bowl than they were of mentoring their Nephew doesn't equal Best Ever status. Jeremiah Smith has an Uncle in Geno Smith and when asked how often they played catch JS said hardly ever because he was busy being an NFL QB. I'm so over the slurping of Arch Manning!!! He has single handedly made every recruiting service unreliable. At least you are praying they wont come back up yet. It was 20-14 in the BigHouse. OSU had a mediocre quarterback who would have looked much worse without Harrison Jr. That was 6 points. That doesn't seem too much tougher. You shouldn't just repeat things said after last season.

Yeah Saban recruited better than anyone. He paid all of them. But after the NIL he never won again. When it's a fair feild Nick Saban couldn't win it all
I hate Bama as much as anyone but he had the best recruiting class of all time last year, and the 2nd best recruiting class this year. With big time transfers going to him since the transfer portal started.
