Frye, is fine. Only those with a lack of football intellect think like that. O-linemen take longer to develop than any other position group AND Frye has only been recruiting for one full year. This will be his second. AND O-linemen take a long time to develop a relationship with whe recruiting
Let me also explain to you how college football recruiting works. Frye hasn't just recruited for "one year", because that is like saying that he wasn't recruiting at UCLA. Going from UCLA to OSU should allow you to land higher-end recruits at a better rate. When these coaches get new jobs they bring the list of players over that they were recruiting while at their previous school. Frye lands Ohio native players and that is great, but that is expected at a school like Ohio State. He has also landed out-of-state guys as well that the previous coach already recruited. It is much easier to recruit at a school like OSU, so the standard is higher than it is at other places. The expectation for Frye at OSU is the same expectation for anyone at Bama or Georgia. Frye has struggled with getting depth, and OTs to solidify that RT position. He has moved lineman all over the line, including switching a player's position after teaching him for a full year at a different position. He needs to predict these moves faster at a program like OSU. Training some guys at one position, then moving them to another position after an entire year is not great for player production. Also, look at the production numbers for the run game, they struggled in run blocking which was evident the entire year. Frye is a great dude, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't have something to prove.
@@T4GSports Let me explain to you that Frye was recruiting players to play for UCLA. Most likely the vast majority were from the left coast or within the boundaries of the PAC 12. It's well known that O-linemen are the most difficult to get too far away from their girlfriends. Michigan doesn't care about "higher end recruits" they claim to develop 3-Star O-linemen. It is MUCH easier to recruit players the previous coach was recruiting in Ohio or the Midwest than recruit O-linemen from the other side of the country. In the past Ohio State has not signed many players from California. AND I can't find any O-linemen that were signed from there. It is not easier to recruit O-linemen from California compared to ones from Ohio and the midwest. There are 15 O-linemen on the 2024 roster which equates to 3 deep. EVERY YEAR O-linemen are cross trained in case there are injuries. EVERY YEAR the coaching staff tries to find THE best 5 O-line to be their starters. ALL schools do this. Frye has no more to prove than any other coach. The only people I've heard whining about Frye are "fans". No coaches writers or podcasters.

@@southeastdaygo6193 It’s neither an assumption nor a deflection. I played football. I coached high school football. I have eyes. Just as one example, Day has an loaded O-line and a 5-star RB, but he chooses to have his inexperienced QB throw an inside slant to Maserati Marv inside his own 20-yard line. A good coach would know that Will Johnson, our CB, one of our mere 3 5-star players, likes to jump inside slants. In fact 4 of his 6 interceptions last season were inside slants with backup coverage over the top. He calls it anyway. Johnson jumps the route, Maserati Marv just stands there during the return (he literally made zero attempt to play defense in a potential pick 6 situation), and instantaneously OSU is behind schedule. The seething lemmings of your fanbase blame that on McCord; it wasn’t his fault. It was Day’s fault for calling it in that situation and it was partially Marv’s fault for not even making an attempt to fight for it or make the tackle after. Bad coaching.

You know your team is top notch when every other team talks s#!@. Take a look at Oh St in last 2 decades and compare them to your team. The only team that can compare is Alabama and .....no one else. Ohio St will be playing Georgia in the natty this year
Since college football is all about money these days, I don't think enough is being said about the resources that Columbus brings to bear. Columbus is the 15th largest city in the country. Relative to dinky towns like Tuscaloosa and Athens (GA), the financial power is night and day. There are obviously other cities that do compare, like Austin and Chicago, but Columbus's attention isn't split across multiple pro sports franchises (yes I'm ignoring the Blue Jackets). Columbus is fairly unique in that it's a very large city AND it's single-minded on college football.
That is pretty good to look like the same team that was one field goal away from beating the best Georgia team in their history, in their own backyard.

OSU should’ve beat Georgia to, the refs did them so dirty
bro should've just drained that kick
That is why OS will never be looked at as a power house like Georgia and Bama. You are all whiners and nobody with a brain cell thinks it was targeting.

The only school who wins championships in abundance is Alabama. Aside from recent years, Georgia won a natty in 1980, and Michigan did it in 1997.

@@DeshCanter Cool assumption and nice way to deflect
@@southeastdaygo6193
It’s neither an assumption nor a deflection.

Now that it is legal to pay players, teams like Alabama, Michigan and a majority of the SEC will not be able to keep up with Ohio State. USC and Texas, if they decide to get serious, will move to the forefront along with Ohio State to dominate the sport in the years ahead.
There isn't enough room on any team to get every player no matter how much money you have.
What did all those recruiting classes get ohio state, not a championship

2024 is the only year anyone cares about.
Ohio State has won plenty!
Georgia has the richest companies in the United states, Athens isn't where georgia football gets there money

You have 15 5-stars on your roster and you can’t scare up a QB for a bowl game? 😳🤷🏼♂️
Or……Ryan Day hung the Michigan loss around McCord’s neck (It’s not like he ever takes responsibility for his blunders) and stood by while all you loyal fans lambasted the kid for Ryan putting him in a position to fail and then pretending to be surprised when he did. What a disgrace!! Had you developed your O-line and your run game, and if your coach weren’t allergic to controlling the line of scrimmage and running the ball, maybe you could compliment your defense. Or, instead of running up the score on your weaker opponents, and there were many, maybe your backups could get some snaps? It’s called building a program and paying attention to someone outside your WR room. Why do you think your starting QB blew town with half the running back room behind him?
Contrast that with Michigan. Harbaugh had the 3rd and 4th string guys getting regular snaps against the scrubs on the schedule.
