I really like the red edged crown. Sounds weird, but made a big difference for me. I noticed that I normally can't help but focus on the face and leading edge. Subconsciously, I think I manipulate the face without realising. This new crown sets my eye focus so differently to the rear, and its increased my ball striking for the better. I went into my fitting wanting the Paradym, thought I might end up cobra as like them, and had no intention of Stealth 2 due to many reviews, but ended up buying Stealth 2.
Great video! Looks like Stealth 2 may be slightly more forgiving. But another $629 more forgiving after just paying $600 for stealth plus last year? I don’t believe so. Thanks for the comparison!
@@taffdavies2265 I’ve never heard of a driver with more issues to be honest… face cracking/falling off… chuck it into google, their are massive issues with the 2022 stealth
@@alexbeesley1144 why go looking for a problem that I don't have any issues with, I've had it nearly a year and play or practice at least 5 times a week.
tbh I’m sticking with my stealth plus cause the new one won’t have that much of change for me to even wanna switch. I’ll wait like I did with the M5… played it and skipped the whole sim series till the stealth came out. So I’ll keep it until after stealth is done and if they bring out a better whole collection then stealth then maybe buy prob wait till next 4years and then really see the improvements. save the money and go play golf lol
Im a fan of the channel but I do have a couple points. Full disclosure I'm a fan of TM drivers so maybe that's why I wanted to comment. I was wondering why you would do a driver test when the driver set up isn't close to a proper fit for you? The spin is really high which isn't allowing the club to perform properly. The shaft and or loft should be adjusted to get the spin down to the 2200 range. The only takeaway from this rest is that maybe there is a little more ball speed with the new Stealth. But honestly until the driver is properly set up it's difficult to determine what the real differences are. Sorry, was looking forward to this video but it didn't really help too much. I'm still a fan and will be watching...
The heavier sliding weight at forward section of sole, I was expecting lower spin. At your 11.2 launch w/both, I’m believing TM’s claim of higher MOI, clearly the result of heavier back weight and likely some internal structural mass at rear of club. Normally I’d say reduce that spin by adjusting hosel to -1 loft but your launch is already lower than ideal. Sometimes a shaft swap helps some but ime, it’s not reducing 400 spin w/o also lowering loft unless your strikes were all below equator of face. Probably not a great club for your delivery. I’d personally recommend the TSR3. Easily the most solid and consistent clubhead I’ve ever hit 👍
Mike , I'd really like you do a self fit within your reviews. So for example, would have been great to if you could have dropped the spin on that Stealth 2 by having it one click lower on the loft sleeve. Really optimize the performance.
Looks like I'm getting the Paradym and waiting for the Gen 3 or 4. I loved the SLDR, have gone to Ping, Titleist and Callaway since. The Rogue ST Triple Diamond is incredible and the Paradym tested even better.
Hi Michael. Just wondering why you haven’t reviewed the Callaway Paradym???? Interesting to see comparison on the stealth. Didn’t see enough for people ,to justify changing. If you can get Paradym ……. Be interesting to see comparison with st max.
So it looks like no real difference between old and new……questionable dispersion on both. What was interesting was that you shots with higher club head and ball speed were shorter that with lower speeds…… Great review. But from the results, no real need to change unless you’re a TM fanboy.
They’ve been repeating the same two year cycle since SLDR. New generation is always lower spin and deeper face. Then gen 2 has shallower face and more forgiveness. Then it resets the following year and repeats. SLDR - R15. M1- M1. M3-m5 and so on.
The massive issue is the stealth 2 is a way better driver but in standard setting it’s 4 deg flatter lie then stealth soo it loves the to start right and for a fader it can get away from you … ball speeds all over the face are ridiculous tho And they never fixed the guillotine gap between the face and bottom wedge , absolutely chews plastic tees and wooden
TM lies are almost always 1-2 degree's higher than stated on Woods/Hybrids. They really appear flat due to the toe reshape. Also all you have to do is turn it to Upright & it will be 4degrees more upright.
As a higher handicap golfer, I am looking for forgiveness. I need a fairway finder. Both these clubs are all over the place. If Michael misses left and right, what would I do? Stealth is not consistent.
No adjustment to the weighting in the head, in other reviews guys have done this and seen difference in spin numbers. 114 mph and only 165 and not over or close to 300 is suspect. TaylorMade has done its job to be fair.
If you were fitting yourself for a new driver, you would have put both of those down and reached for something else. (IMO obv) Dispersion not great, spin way to high for a player like you and as a result carry not brilliant. They’re clearly good clubs and maybe a loft and shaft tweak would make a difference but from those 20 shots, I’d be asking the fitter for a go with the Ping, Callaway or Srixon.
Was fitted into the original last year and see no reason to even think about changing. I’m not mad on the aesthetics this year, looks more like the sim range just in red with red face in my opinion. Not a lot in forgiveness or distance from what I see though
Completely disagree on looks, the stealth 2 having a shinny crown creates horrible glare on sunny days, welcome to Florida. The cheap chrome back weight and over done badging make the stealth 2 look like a tour edge exotics, NOT a compliment. Give me the matte top with toned down stickers of the original stealth plus. The shape of the head being closer to the original SIM sets and looks more traditional than the plus 2. Overall the plus 2 felt like a downgrade across the board from stealth 1. Dozens of tour players stepping back from stealth 2 would suggest performance didn't live up either.
i just hit one down at my local golf store and hit one 330 yards which i haven't seen before. idk if that was the driver or just a fluke lol not willing to pay an arm and a leg for one.
you have a 15 gram weight in front and a 15 in back if you say put an 7 or 8 gram weight in the back that should lower spin, bring it down to 2400 or 2200, is that possible
Neither, I don’t really see a difference enough to make me go and get the new one. I actually prefer the Callaway Paradigm to the Taylormade but I am gaming Titleist TSR which I actually believe is a better driver than all the 2023 drivers that I have seen with Callaway a close second.
The tsr hasn't even been out 6 months so why the hell would you even be entertaining anything for atleast 2 or 3 years! You either have too much money or no sense!
Look at that distance with hardly swinging it what ever he’s using it’s rigged 😂😂😂 I don’t care who you are swinging it that soft does not go that far surely not
Mine was the best of the top names… as far as forgiveness. People don’t realize that forgiveness doesn’t help face angle or path. It helps on heel or toe strikes. Funny how all the pros I talked to that don’t have a social media channel say it’s the most forgiving… but everyone with a SM opinion says it’s not… my SS is 115-118 when I go for it and I hit a cut
Moral of the story these are the same exact drivers
It looks like the previous Stealth model represents a bargain, given such a similar performance to the 2023 “latest and greatest”.
How does he swing at 113mph when it looks like he's swinging at 80mph?
It’s literally the SIM and SIM2 all over again the shape and everything😊
I really enjoy watching your swing. Great tempo! I’d love to see more camera angles right down your line. Thanks again for doing these great videos.
