  • I got my hands on the new Taylormade Stealth Drivers. I am comparing the Taylormade Stealth Plus vs the Taylormade Stealth HD to my current driver, the Taylormade M3. I also hit last years Taylormade Sim 2 Max to see how much of a difference is between this years Taylormade Driver and last years. All the data I collect is from a Trackman to see what the differences are between these drivers. All that, and more.........

    I like the moveable weight system. I am glad Taylormade brought that back. I have the M5 and skipped over the SIM and SIM2 b/c it didn't have that system. Many people think that this weighting system is just marketing, but it works for me and has for years.

    Great initial review .. thanks for doing this.. as the MOI weight and even face area differs, it would be interesting to fit each club-shaft separately.
    The curiosity for me would be taking all the mis hits and see the performance of new vs old club with smash factor, dispersion, spin rate and of course total distance. The most forgiving club is the best club. I even remember when tiger hit only 40% fairway in 2019.

      @@NewNineGolf 100%. While majority of reviewers, understandably do want to show top 10 shots to show what golf club distance. but the truth is forgiveness is where majority of us should golfer should be concentrating. I would assume that 50% of hits are off centered hits. so real golf club test is performance is in forgiveness (smash factor, spin rate, dispersion and total distance) ..txg, 2nd swing and others eliminate miss hits and keep center-face hits .. what is the % of us besides Adam Scott and morikawa really hit center if face every time? Lol but keep up the review ..
      would love to see “miss hit mania” rogue st vs stealth

    Stealth HD is currently in my bag, and the only thing that’s different for me, it is much much much much more forgiving than the M2 I have.
    I really haven’t gained any distance off the tee but my miss hits are finding the fairway or the first cut. I’m mid 50’s now and I don’t have the same shoulder turn I had when I was younger, so I feel more confident when I step up on a par 4 of 5 tee box.

    Finally! Someone who says the SIM2 had poor feedback! I've been feeling like a nut because I couldn't tell where on the SIM2 face I was hitting at all. Toe strikes felt like center, and visa versa. It could be maddening on the course when you were trying to adjust to issues. The Stealth gives the numbers of the SIM2, but with enough feel to understand where on the face I'm hitting. So far, I love it!

    Probably need a much bigger sample size to conclude anything. Also would be great to be consistent between model selection. M1/M3/M5/Sim/Sim2/Stealth+ are more comparable. And M2/M4/M6/Sim Max/Sim2 max/stealth. Great video, just a little more we can take away from it if a little larger sample size and like for like comparisons.

    The 2 mph difference in swing speed accounts for the 4 yds. It basically comes down to dispersion.Which one can you keep on the short grass.

      As I saw it he swung faster on each successive club. Is that from the golfer or the club aerodynamics? Can't see that much change in shape. Yes, to me the distance numbers mean nothing without considering swing speed. They are firmly related.

    Different heads suit different shafts, I tried putting my new fitted driver shaft (PX Hrzdus Blue Rdx 6.5) into my old Sim2 head, didn't work as good as the new fitted driver head (Stealth Plus). But I felt like the new Stealth is more forgiving than the Sim2. Get fitted and you will get the best results out of any driver heads.

    Only reason there was a 10 yard total distance between the Sim2 Max and the Stealth HD was your first strike with the Sim2 Max. All other shots (3) were either very close or in the last shot much farther than the Stealth. Too small a sample size where 1 bad swing can move the overall number that much.

    • @NewNineGolf
      @NewNineGolf  2 года назад

      What’s the ideal number of hits with each? Let’s say it’s 10. If I told you I hit 10 and these are the averages would you believe me? Or do you want to see me hit 10 of each?

    • @MM-zb9kc
      @MM-zb9kc 2 года назад +2

      @@NewNineGolf under that logic why not 1 with each? All I said is that it’s too small a sample size where 1 shot can have such a massive impact on the numbers. Everyone miss hits one every once in a while, even the best ball strikers in the world. Yes we want to see how the club performs all over the face but when the sample size is so small, you could have gotten into a groove with one over the other. I would think maybe 10-20 with each and maybe have 2 different takes. One would be to take out the worst 2 with each and see does it really outperform the previous model when struck properly as TM claims. A second take would be which one is more forgiving by leaving in all strikes, good and bad.

    I currently play the sim 2. Not the max version. You shouldn't compare the stealth plus to the sim 2 max. You spin on a couple of the sim 2 shots were not center of the club face. It sounded a bit low heely. Therfore spin will go up and distance will decrease. I went to get fitted for the stealth plus and my sim 2 was out performing it in every category. 4 shots cannot determine if one club is better than another one. Shouldn't jump to conclusions so quickly and give bad advice. Just my opinion

  • @taylorleblanc17
    @taylorleblanc17 2 года назад +1

    Doesn't have anything to do with the new tech, look at your spin rates. 500rpm between the two, ball speeds are basically the same which means it's how your delivering the club at impact and not the tech.
