    As an eighty year old golfer you have helped me to understand the science of golf,years ago you went to a golf store and picked a driver of the shelve,to day with your videos and advice I can ask the right questions and get good results.😊

    Thomas - you were like a kid in the candy store with that 'Plus' in your hands...so eager to crank the loft down and see what it does! Great review - good fun!

    Thomas’ swing is enjoyable to watch and he hammers it, of course. I’m sure the weather is dreadful in Minnesota right now, but I can’t wait to see you boys back out for a course vlog.
    With the accuracy of the Stealth, that’s the driver I’d like to see you lower the loft with, the ball speed with the Plus was far better anyway.

    Great video, so u have basically shown what Tiger was saying about this club, that its able to give him better distance when playing a fade. That 2nd last stealth+ swing was high (fade) but low spin. Its gonna benefit DJ, Colin and Tiger so much. Might negate Rory and how difficult it is to hit a high draw.
    Would be good if you guys did another video to really delve into this.

    Thanks, as always a great demo. Re your last test with the Plus at 7 degrees, Matt Blois of TXG together with both Ian and the TM fitter Trottie found that teeing the ball a bit higher produced the optimal result, higher trajectory than he thought was his target window, but also lower spin and longer carry. So you might want to experiment with the same. The issue with this driver may be durability. Did TM over those long years of development do testing to destruction, hitting it with a robot until the face broke, wore out or lost its pop? Will the polyurethane layer that has the grooves and microgrooves in it be durable, and might it separate from the carbon underneath?

    I have a steep, negative attack angle higher swing speed. I don’t struggle to get the ball in the air. Obviously need to go hit it. But does the plus in the draw position even come close to the hd model ?

    Thomas I know I asked you before about raising my launch angle. Got fitted by TM yesterday. My best numbers came from a 12* head! Apparently I remove quite a bit of loft because I was hitting a 12* launching at 11-12/2200 hiting 6 up at 102 ss/147 bs avg. My 10* TSI3 was launching 9.5/1800 with similar swing numbers. Picked up 10-15 yds of carry.

    I am not a slicer, but if I was, I would go with the Rogue draw bias. Based on your testing.
    Also Rogue is a lot better looking to me at address.
    But if it would be better performing, I would still pick Stealth.
    Thanks

    Just watched the stealth fairway review and I’m loving this new format.
    Home recovering from my Total Hip Replacement surgery earlier this week and was great to watch these !
    Would like to see you compare the 2022 stealth to my 2016 M2 head just for shits and giggles ! Still love my M2 for feel and forgiveness. Was thinking about comparing to the TSi’s later this spring but not much more
    I’m going to gain to justify 5 extra yards and $500+ Maybe in a few years when the Stealth has dropped to half price.

    I tried this driver at a fitting day T my local club yesterday. I was incredibly impressed by the club’s performance. They fit me into the Mitsubishi Ka’ali shaft XS. Is that a stock shaft for this club or an up charge? I didn’t get a chance to confirm with the rep.

    Here is something I always wondered about. Will a heavier club swung slower hit the ball as far a lighter club. I know the idea is to swing the lighter club faster but as we age we will lose speed and a heavier head might be easier to get the same distance? Just thinking because I have always like to feel the head in the swing.

    • @corbinchristensen1555
      @corbinchristensen1555 2 года назад

      Heavier definitely increases ball speed and efficiency, I don't know how much it makes a difference though. I have a lot of extra weight in the head of my driver (Cobra F9), but I'm also very high swing speed. I'm like 125-130 CHS at an E1 swing weight. I got a smash factor of 1.54 a few times in the past which was an interesting feeling.. but yeah.. it definitely helps, but you have to be strong enough to manage it and not lose too much speed. If you add weight and only lose a couple MPH I could see that offsetting it well

    • @banditbaker1675
      @banditbaker1675 2 года назад +1

      A lot depends upon how the individual golfer reacts to the weight of the club. Theoritically, a golfer will swing a lighter club faster. But often a golfer will in practice swing a lighter club slower because they loose confidence if they can't "feel" where the clubhead is. An conversley they will swing the heavier club quicker because they can "feel" where the head is.

    • @jacobmccain8082
      @jacobmccain8082 2 года назад +1

      Yep. I add lead tape to all of my irons and play CB shafts in my woods with extra weight because swingweights at D4+ are what Ive found I swing best with. And yes I swing faster with lighter clubs but the distance stays pretty much the same.

    • @jch3200
      @jch3200 2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the comments. I agree that I may swing better when I can feel the head in the swing and my timing maybe better because I tend to "wait" for the club in transition.

    I have had a dilemma with my driver. All other clubs extremely good and if I can get the right mix in the driver my game will be significantly improved and scores low and consistent. The dilemma is this: I went from an m2 45.75” set at 9.5 degrees on a 10.5 degree driver. I prefer this way as a more open face is better for me as I never slice if anything a pull so draw drivers do not generally suit me - to a pxg proto x+ 12 degree set at 11 degree but 44.75” with a riptide cb shaft. Now I hit most fairways almost every time but lost at least 30 yds carry distance making it a difficult and likely lay up second shot. So looking for something that gives me back at least 15 to 20 yds of carry with equal fairway consistency. Seems the stealth or the epic rogue st might be worth looking at or else wait to see what titleist comes up with in the autumn or else pxg if they revamp their woods. Not a fan of ping. And have not liked the sim max line so far. My hybrid is the super hybrid epic 2021 which has addressed my middle distance and indeed replaced all my fairway woods. As swing speed is slower now than it used to be in my much younger days finding the right blend and mix - also as a leftie - is a challenge. Any thoughts on the stealth vs the rogue st? Also with respect to shafts - swing speed 90mph. The new face of STEALTH is intriguing.

    • @2ndswing
      @2ndswing  2 года назад +1

      Good question. We actually just filmed this for the TSR3 so stay tuned for that release. Essentially it's a bias and can help put more mass behind the area where you hit the ball on the face or to help dial in shot shape even further. It's fine tuning but won't do all the work needed to correct a slice or hook - Thomas

    The HD does sit closed a little bit but they manufacture it to look standard. Most of the gains come from the shaft not the head. It’s all about the torque and being able to get the club face closed at impact.

    maybe you should educate your viewers about the settings you have made to your trackman driving range because your numbers are just a blatant lie. 114 swing, with 145 ft peek height, 18 deg launch resulting in 300 carry and and almost 25 yds roll? anyone with some basic background knowledge knows that something is off here.

    • @2ndswing
      @2ndswing  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching. The two numbers you are missing that allow me to carry the ball 300 yards are attack angle (+8) which provides a low spin (sub 2000). It is common knowledge if you have a very high attack angle with some speed you get a high launch low spin. The Trackman we test with is set to 800 feet which is the elevation where we live that will only provide 1-2 yards further than sea level. In fact when testing Trackman is more accurate than Foresight with a high speed player that spins the ball low I get even further distances using that unit with my driver. Our goal is to educate our viewers not confuse and there is no secret that with my attack angle at +8* I'm able to hit some long drives. -Thomas
