Bought the paradym x yesterday just hit the range and had a huge improvement. Love the way it looks and the name but each there own
Good job, a lot of the testing I have watched the Callaway seems to be more consistent and slightly longer. Both seem to be big improvements over last year.
I have purchased a paradym. In my personal opinion I think the paradym might be my favourite looking driver .... ever, especially in the sun light when that effect shows up more.
I got fitted and against my current driver the numbers were so different I was getting around 4 mph more ball speed, and the dispersion for me was far far better.
Also had the money spare else I wouldn't of bought it for the price
That’s a great result and glad it worked for you 👍
Perfect timing on this video for me as I am in the market this year.. Thanks!
Good luck Jerry
Great info, keep it up. I am looking at updating my whole set (after 15yrs) so your reviews are very valuable to me at the moment.
Performance/forgiveness etc is key for me, and looks down the line. But as you say - if a couple of clubs are performing the same - then absolutely looks come into it.
Love how you admitted to using same ball, same number for the test😂 added a nice touch of humour 😅
I already preordered my Paradym, I think it's the best looking of the new lot. Skipped Rogue, since it wasn't an improvement over my Epic Speed Triple diamond. I feel the Paradym is a step up for me. I'm not too keen on the Stealth and the Stealth 2 has minimal differences other than esthetics. Great video as always Andy!
Good on ya Troy, bet you can’t wait for it to arrive! Play well 👍
Same just bought the rouge full price 1 month ago then it gets discounted and the new paradym comes out I’m still in my 100 day full return period I’m going to get fitted then have mine ordered
Going to a fitting on saturday , I will be testing the Cobra, Stealth 2 , and Paradym . I am currently gaming a TSR2 . We shall see if one these can't take down my gamer. Really wanted to include Ping I just can get past the turbulators.
TSr has only been out a few months and you're already going for a driver fitting? How many times have you been married? 😂
Lol... I would have to see major gains to replace my tsr2, But I have to check out the latest and greatest, I know I have issues
Can’t wait to pick one of these up in 2030
I think with the economy the way it's going..... Prices are a bit high but I tested both and had similar findings. Great Vid!
Yep prices are silly, nice to get feedback from someone else who has tried and confirmed my findings 👍
Hey Andy - thanks for the review! Love the shaft info! Recently retired - so no new $600 driver for me:))
Great stuff as always Andy!
I personally think the Callaway looks classy and the TM looks like a childs toy, but again, that's me.
I also hated the OG Stealth when I tested it, so I think between the two, I'd go for the Paradigm.
(Currently have a TSR2 though, and that thing looks better then the pair of them, not switching lol).
Yep the TSr looks superb
Looks really play very little for me, it’s performance that matters, especially when it comes to forgiveness and consistency in the dispersion. Hitting fairways far more important to mr than being10 yards further and in the rough…Enjoyed your test, Wisconsin Fish
Got fitted for the paradym yesterday. Really really love the looks but love the feel even more. Classic Callaway feel. Tried the X as well but found it less pleasant in terms of feel which led to lower distance for me. Never liked the feel of the stealth drivers
How can you compare with 2 different shafts?
Thanks 4 the comparison Andy. I’m not N the market of course, but I kinda wish I was….. LOL! That Callaway Driver with the new Technology, really seems tempting! LOL!
Another excellent video mate. The course looks superb.
Thanks Ian and yes lovely place, got a lot filmed and on channel next few days
I don't have drivers, woods or hybrids and I need to build the top of the bag. Being a Lefty in a rough retail space for golf makes it next to impossible for me to find new, let alone last season's gear. I may have no choice but the buy something at these ridiculous prices. I may not even be able to hit what I buy. Callaway seem to be going aggressive with their fittings in my market, I'm trying to talk to their reps to see if they have a few different options for me to hit. Would have loved to hit TSR/STZ/ZX5 though
Again a great review, one must be able to express a view and opinion in order to test things!
I think however as a mid 20's handicapper I don't see a £500 improvement for me from my Ping G400 driver!
or am I missing something?
Depends on your spin numbers and shaft. I went from a G25 driver to a TSi3 and gained about 20 yards. Then I went to a TSr3 and shot the best round of my life. A shaft like Ventus or Hzrdus is extremely stable and may help.
I recently purchased a brand new Wilson Cortex Driver (came out in 2018) for $200 USD. It originally listed for $500. I wonder if this is the future of these top brands - they sell a few new ones at top prices and then the rest linger around - even for years - until they become more affordable. No question the competition now is fierce, so pricewise something is eventually going to have to give, but when....??
Hard to say, prices are rising and show no sign of decline
I personally like hitting tons of drivers just to know what they all feell like. I buy alot of older drivers on auction sites and fb marketplace, most for between $50 to $100. I got a titleist 915 d2 last month for $52. My point is no one is forcing people to buy a new driver every year, its mostly just Fomo and wanting to show off shiny new things to your mates. You could buy a used driver for $50 and it would be 10 - 15yds shorter than a brand new driver. People should practice more and buy less. I'm using a cobra ltdx that I bought for $285 around August last year atm.
I'm a bit of a cheapskate so if I do buy a driver it will be at least 2 yrs old.
I don’t blame you Tony
Just got the Callaway Mavrik, hits like a dream! $600 clubs don’t change $1 golf swings!
Not giving up much, if anything. I'm with you. Just got a Ping 425 at the end of last season when marked down. Still pricey, but a bit more cash in my pocket vs theirs
Totally agree. Every review of these new clubs make reference to “marginal” gains, so an older model for almost half the price makes sense. Had all my clubs stolen just over a month ago so I need a new driver, but like you I’m hunting down a “new old stock” driver and fairway woods.
If I was buying one today it would probably be last year's Mizuno. It looks great, good shaft options, and what I really like is that it's 45" stock. My biggest issue with new drivers is the 45.75" length. I don't think it does average golfers any favours. Haven't actually hit the Mizuno but that's one I'd be trying.
Great stealth2👍
Thought you were going to pick one Andy. 😊 Definitely be the Paradym for me on looks. Got a fitting day on Saturday with Callaway so I can see how it compares with my Rogue ST max. Keep up the good work - always enjoy your content.
How did the fitting go Andy? would be interested to hear what club you picked.
Alan
Hi Steve. Decided to just get fitted for 3 and 5 woods rather than driver. Too risky going for driver after just buying it last year 😊. Testing was good. Ended up with the Paradym x with shorter shafts which made a big difference to the hitting zone. Will give them another go with the club pro and see if funds allow. So expensive these days.
Great review, perspective...
If I had to chose I would pick the Paradym I love the way it looks. I had a chance to hit both and the ping g430 the other day but didn't get data I liked the feel I got from the paradym I could tell immediately if it was low or off the toe etc. The stealth felt good to hit and I liked the sound but it's almost too dead sounding. The g430 actually felt really good but I think they have took a step back in the visual department, the g425 looked better imo.
Great feedback on this years line ups
Could you possibly elucidate on the G430 vs. the Paradigm? Other than looks, strictly how it hit, which would you suggest, or did it just come down to aesthetics for you cuz they both were that good?
@gavinn.7272 I thought they all 3 felt great, the paradym and g430 felt pretty similar to me but like I said I didn't get any data just got to hit them about 10 or fewer times a piece. I'd say if you are in the market try them all and find what works best for you then take in to account which you prefer visually and buy that one they are all great drivers nowadays.
I hit both in my fitting and the Callaway was longer by 10 yards than the G430LST but dispersion from the Ping was way better. Both ugly as heck. Went with the Ping and Ventus TR Red. So far so good. Hope I didn’t give up too much. Time will tell.
Time to get the Taylormade Stealth 1 at a discount!!! But the Stealth 2 does look nice. Lol 🤣🤣🤣 can you do a comparison test between the last year's and this latest drivers?
Tested the original stealth plus and the 2 last week found no difference at all so bagged the original at a big discounted price so I'm very happy indeed
Another great informative video, well done
Cheers Gareth
Well done Andy I had been waiting for someone to do this H2H vid👍👍
Personally, I can't justify spending £500 on a new driver at the moment so I'm sticking with my trusty GEN2, of these two I prefer the Callaway even though I think their name "Paradym" is ridiculous. If I was in the market for a new driver I'm pretty sure that I would gravitate toward the G430 Max, but my advice to anyone spending £500 on a driver is to make sure that you get a "Proper Fitting" so that you end up with a driver that is optimised to your swing characteristics👍👍
Nice video as always Andy. I just bought brand new original Stealth Standard and Plus (heads only) in 10.5 to do an in-depth testing with my shafts. I would love to see you do a comparison of the Stealth 2 versus the original Stealth using your V2. I'm expecting the Stealth (not the Stealth Plus) to win, but we'll see! Love your content my friend.
For my own personal interest that is worth doing Jeffrey, keep your eye peeled
I went low cost with the Cleveland XL Launcher.
I'd love to try them And, along with the G430, but I'd never part with that much cash for any of them, so no point in testing them. Last year was generally one of stupid pricing in golf equipment but they've outdone themselves this year. The Wilson is looking pretty appealing though ...
With as many reviews you do, you should have the same shaft with the different adapter for each company... That way you can compare the head only with no other variances
The ball will always tell the Truth!
In my case it was between Ping or Titleist for 2023
The ping driver features tomorrow night
Both drivers look very nice, it’s a matter of personal preference of the eye, sound, feel, and performance on each individual. There are many great drivers this year, it’s just sad that manufactures keep jacking stuff every year throwing new technology reasoning as the cause of prices being through the roof. Green fees are going up every year to, by leaps and bounds. The average person that does not get golf clubs donated to them or have a sponsor may have trouble being able to afford to buy the new stuff which is ridiculously priced. Anyone who is buying a driver from last year or up to five years old at severely discounted price now is making the best move. When you see the test reports of all the drivers of the last five years, and you watch the swing speeds that were used, and the dispersion and all the details the numbers these new clubs are producing are not phenomenally better in anyway. A few small marginal games that may be noticed if you test them with a robot, but for an average golfer you hear the same raving reviews every year on here about how great the new drivers are. And then you see the reviews from drivers a few years back and actually distances are equal or longer. I certainly will not give the price they are asking for these drivers in Canada which is over $800 Canadian for either one of them. I’ll have to wait until they come on sale at hundreds off and then get a chance to try them out just for fun. Don’t get me wrong… They look great and I’m sure they perform good but times are tough and wages don’t go up as much as inflation does and these clubs are over priced. But I enjoyed your review… Great work
I'm not upgrading this year so won't be buying either. But I think if I was to upgrade, it's probably head shape at address and sound at impact that make the final decision.
Random comment, but I kinda miss the old crest logo you had for the he channel... It was nice. I "get" the move to the new one, but I did like the old one.
Yes I also liked that logo
I hated Callaway!! But when I tested this driver it was the only time I ever hit a ball 331 yards!!! I’m team Taylormade right now. But when I do decide to get a new set I’m definitely going with Callaway!
Andy would you mind doing a review of ping g710 vs. the new ping g430 irons? Wondering if I need to upgrade? Love your channel , all the way from Las Vegas thank you
Love the Stealth 2 looks, my Stealth OG destroyed the Callaway last year in distance and forgiveness!
Would be the stealth 2 for me on looks and i tried these two last week with the ping and on for me the stealth was a stand out. I then tried the original stealth and found little difference to these new drivers so i pulled the plug and bagged the original stealth plus. This is my first tmade driver and it is everything i wanted from a driver 👌
So which one is the winner?
any chance you will review the YONEX EZONE GT 460 Driver ? or the XXIO driver ?...cheers
Will you be testing the new Wilson drivers
Wilson don’t send samples to me or many RUclipsrs, I have only seen them in mainstream media
Disappointed. I think lots of people are wondering about this year's driver models. Was hoping to see you try them out.
I do wish you would get off the fence when doing a comparison video and share which you think is your preference. I get that it will be different for everyone but surely you can make a definitive choice based on your testing (even if you caveat it), otherwise what is the point?
From my watching of the video it seems evident to me as to what my choice would be Chris? I prefer the looks of Stealth both aesthetically and shape of head but these are subjective issues, but if you want to know my preference it would be Stealth, hope that helps.
@@TheAverageGolfer Perfect, that does help. Thanks for taking the time to reply 🙂
Andy, Recently you compared the Ping G430 and the TM Stealth 2, the Ping G430 was a 10.5 degree and TM Stealth 2 was a 9. degree also the shaft was shorter in the TM too, there was a wind factor and It was very apparent that wind and height were not helping make a fair comparison, also when you were using the Callaway Paradime here10.5 vs 9, one must account for face angle open/closure when the loft is changed. I have a Ping G430 9. degree that hits the ball about 240 but my former G425 10.5 only hit 225. loft and face angle length of shaft etc. this and the other video does not produce a fair and stable comparison in my opin...Just SayinPS I am 76 years old but I shoot 76 on average 72 round. I live at 7600' in the Southern Rockies near Santa Fe, NM USA. we golf year-round here.
Hi Tom, I appreciate the feedback and you are spot on but what you have to understand is no matter what is done in comparison videos there is always details that make it ‘unfair’ unfortunately we have to make best of what we have in terms of samples and then acknowledge that during the review which I am pretty sure I do. All reviews are subjective and as guidance only, all that matters is as a golfer you get custom fit and work out what is best for you.
Love the look of both, but price is a major obstacle. Prefer to buy drivers a couple years old if not older. Love the sunny reviews!
I don’t blame you
I agree! The SIM 2 Max is a steal right now, and to my testing performs just as well as the latest Stealth driver.
My buddy has the original stealth and we hated it! He went back to his old Ping G driver.
Would love to try the Callaway but the price is way too silly I’m not going to even bother.
Was using the Cobra LTDXls last year, liked it, but the LS just not forgiving enough for me (my miss is left, and the ls was too low spinning for me). Went to try out different drivers, new Cobra was OK, Callaway, meh, the Ping did not like at all. Surprisingly the one that wasn't on my radar was the stealth because of the dispersion issues of the first model...ended up controlling the new stealth better and 3-4 mph faster than the others. try them all! Ordered the stealth2 with hzdous black smoke gen 4 shaft...i'll see if it does as good when real trees are in the way in a couple months.
The LS models can cause problems, good luck with the stealth when it arrives
These clubs do not outperform the TSR 3. I have tested both against my gamer 8 degree TSR 3 and can honestly say that I will happily stick with Titleist. 👍🙌🙌🙏💯🔥
They don’t outperform the tsr3 for “you” 😅 the callaway is 15-20 yards longer then the Tsr3 for “me” both were fitted to my swing spent hours with them and the paradym came out on top with dispersion and longer. Everybody different. 🙌🏽🔥
Looks smooks...... They both are a lot of $$$$$.... I have personally had much success with my G425...... So much so, now that they are still available but at $400 American I bought a spare. Should be using them for years to come.. I would be interested to hear your opinion on whether or not these drivers are truly worth the $$$? And, is it really that much of an upgrade?
I don’t think any golf club is worth these kind of prices Brett
Thanks for the reply. I totally agree. If I could ask one more question, just curious, what driver is in your bag currently and what driver is your all time fav? It would be cool to see you do a video on your current vs all time fav? Thx sir dig the channel.
@@YayaGolf777 I have last years Stealth and I am a fan not sure on all time favourite
Golf is once again becoming an activity for those that have the money, my membership just gone up 15% and time for me to start to think if it represents value, certainly won’t be rushing out to buy the latest drivers to be up to date. The game will price itself out of the reaches on many in the near future and they will all be desperate to get new members and club sales again soon enough.
LOL every activity is for those that have money. Are you saying that theres inflation? I was told by pedo joe that inflation is not happening. There are plenty of lower cost ways to play golf. Nobody has a word to say about a 1200$ cell phone.
Forget the drivers, how did you find the bounce on the greens 😂
I don’t see any of the new models making me switch from my cobra rad speed for the $500-600+ price
Understandable
what was the shaft you've been using Andy? (I couldn't hear what you said)
Proforce V2 5HL 👍
Which one would you recommend for a beginner with high handicap, G430, Paradym or Stealth2?
I was always say try them all but based on my testing I found the Ping G430 to most forgiving
Bottom line, drivers are way too expensive. Most people I know and play golf with will not be purchasing a new model anytime soon. Great to hear what the new models can do for the player though. It’ll be helpful to know in a year or so when the price comes down 😉.
Interested to know more about that shaft Andy - was it an upgrade offered by TM that you were fitted for?
Which one goes in the bag, Andy
It would be Stealth for me but only on the subjective choices like the look etc
@@TheAverageGolferthx for the reply Andy. I will hit Stealth - Paradym - and TS3 and see how they feel, perform and look. I have always used TM drivers so have a selection of upgraded shafts. The pricing model this year is ridiculous. If you pay for a shaft upgrade, you could be looking at 800+.
Where is the Titleist TSR reviews?
Not got it to review
Both look good products - not fussed on the head covers, but that wouldn’t put me off
Time for a new driver Brian?
@@TheAverageGolfer quite happy with my TSi2 . . . followed your lead by customizing with shaft and grip
Every Tom, Dick and Harry are now giving reviews on the latest release drivers and to be honest there has to be confusion everywhere, I know I just don't care any more. I'm seeing that a lot of the problems are with the amateur golfer's doing the reviews themselves that maybe they just aren't good enough to be reviewing new clubs. Anyway I'm going to stick with my Cobra F9 driver as I know that's a good driver.
In my opinion, the stealth reminds me of my old Nike covert 2.0 from 2010. Being a 18 handicap, I won’t be buying either 😂
Andy is a brave man to disagree with his wife.
I have the Stealth in the bag, not changing it for several years.
😂😂 only about drivers
The is hardly the comparison
Stealth 9.0
Callaway 10.5
Two different shafts. Can’t compare at all to be fair to both manufactures
The prices have been way too high for me for the past decade. Not sure how everyone can afford one, let alone a full set of woods. I have to buy 5 year old used woods and have yet to find one that works for me. I am
Going back to my old persimmon sizes stainless driver. I hit it way better than today’s drivers. Straighter and farther. Just need to spend half the driver cost and put a really good shaft in it and be done.
Sorry Andy but the only way to do a head to head would be with identical shafts. Not for me no way I'm spending $600 for one club. not going to aid my game that much. As far as looks I don't like the red face a total put off for me.
Why not just post comaparisons with proper swings rather than “well the stealth went further but the swing on the Paradym wasnt very good”
Tells us absolutely nothing.
I tested the stealth 2 against my current M6 I have in the bag. Although I love the stealth 2, I can’t justify paying £500 for a driver with very little improvement on what I already have 😩
Absolutely price is ridiculously high this year
price point is way too high. clubs will help but they wont cure a bad swing. this money would be much better spent on lessons for a better swing. lots of videos of old drivers vs new ones. not alot of difference with average swings. also shafts and fitting much more important then spending money on the latest and greatest. wish more golfers realized this, may force these manufacturers to lower their prices as well.
Think all golfers should just say 'enough is enough' on these high priced clubs. Quit buying them, just wait 2 years, then maybe buy one. Enough golfers follow this, we'll see price drops from all the manufacturers.
It's not the money. I have pissed away money on alot dumber things then a driver. I would want to know it's alot better then what I'm playing (Epic Speed at 9.5 set in neutral) buddy was able to get me a ventus blue 6S Velcro for cost plus 10% works at a great golf course. So the head would really need to add yards and make my misses smaller and smaller. Or is it better to play my Driver for another year or 2 and use the money elsewhere in bag to fix some gapping mid and low end in bag ever take some putting lessons to make a strength even better??? Alot of ways $600.00 can go to knock down score. Maybe even a new 5 wood I took my old one out about a year ago ?
I would say stick with your driver, there are not big gains to be made
I dont think the stealth will sell that well. not after last years train crash of a driver
Taylor made stealth 2
Too much money. My $239 PXG 0211 works for me at my level. I don't think I would get anything better out of these new drivers for the money.
Yep crazy money Mark
My tsr3 looks a hell of a lot better than both of them!
Lpp
To exspensive
Fair point 👍
pointless video?
Hi Andy enjoyed your Video 🤔, But come on you have to choose one (not like you to sit on the fence) You must prefer the feel & results of one of them Thanks Dickey 👍
I didn’t realise I was so vague 😂 for me it would be the Stealth based on looks alone
