Have i ever owned a Taylormade Driver? Yes. A couple. Most recently I won an R1-black in a golf tournament. Loved that driver and played it until a little over a year ago. It was time to replace it and I looked hard at the new Stealth. I have loved my Taylormade Drivers and fairway woods over the years. But. . . i keep my clubs for a while and don't trust the carbon faces to last over time - yet. So i stayed titanium with a TSR2. Will the TM carbon face technology last? We will find out. I wasn't willing to gamble $600.
So for average joes the taylormade is the go to BUT for actual players the tsr3 is the winner literally on every other reviewed channel outperforming the stealth in a massive way. I’m sitting at a +1.2 hc rn and got fitted into the titleist bc my carry numbers were on average 7.8 yards further and my ball speed was way more consistent usually never dipping below 173 on “course” type swings. Usually a ping guy but the Taylormades have underperformed for me the past 4 years now starting with sim. I do love how they sit tho!
I fixed the 2022 problem by replacing the 2 gram weight in the back of the driver head with a 14 gram weight. It is now very stable and forgiving on mishits. Cost $10
Just for the stealth 2 plus and I was so surprised at how well I hit it. I got it at a steal and was going to resell it by my curiosity got the best of me and I took it to the range and boy am I glad I did!
I actually gained about 15 yards with stealth 2 plus vs the stealth plus. I used the same shaft in both and stealth 2 spins less and runs a ton. Carry distance is about 290-95 and rolls to 310-315 consistently. Great video as always!
Last year, the Stealths spun 1/3 less than the Rogue ST LS model. For a 110 -115, that meant 20-30 yards on every shot. Matching a folder and their spin rate is that grail right now. It's a dang chest code for fast swingers. It helps them more that it helps the rest of us yahoos.
I’m an absolute beginner with a mid swing speed and wanted to purchase my first driver today, went to the shops and given a try of beginner drivers, and they included the Callaway Rogue ST Max. The Stealth 2+ was what I settled on and ordered that. It’s going to a be a long 3 weeks until it arrives.
I hit this at a fitting. As shown here the only real weakness is forgiveness but overall a fantastic driver. For high swing-speed players this will significantly bring down spin. The sound off the face isn't my favorite (I prefer TMs older faces) but it's fine.
I'll keep my LTDx LS and stick to titanium. Seen too many reports of faces falling out and my speed of 120 would def make that happen at some point in the future with my luck outside the warranty window....
@@Andy-oz7bj Pros have their driver faces tested before every tourney/round. If there is any change in specs they replace them. My friend got 3 "reject" Kucher driver heads that were slightly below the max CT(my buddy knows the Bridgestone rep). They were from the tour van during the Memorial Tournament.
I just ordered the stealth 2 plus cause my sim 2 I had a horrible slice I bought it for the adjustment setting figured I would have it in the draw setting but than I saw their HD was made for my concerns lol. Any ideas on if I should switch or stay with the plus?
I just tested the stealth 2 against cobra Aerojet.. mizuno, tour edge,, f9 cobra, M4, ping,, and it blew them away by a long shot.. so i had to buy one..
Rick Shiels Golf has tested all 3 Stealth models for him the Standard model and the Plus model are powerful drivers but moderately forgiving, although he noted a small improvement over the previous model what do you think?
Owned a Stealth Plus, and now own a 2016 M2. The M2 is only a few MPH ball speed less, and sounds way better, and is a bit more forgiving. Insane for a driver that's 7-8 years old.
I have an HD maybe 5 months old and popped the carbon fiber crown piece off. My club head speed is 101 max. Apparently, I'm not the first person that's happened to. I have heard the carbon face compresses and increases the air pressure inside and being the carbon crown piece is glued on it can pop off? Could be true I guess. I cleaned off all the old glue and put it back together with 3M composite epoxy, so we'll see what happens. After a few hits, it seems solid. For me, this driver is a bust. Distance and control aren't any different than my Epic Flash.
Anyone heard of the stealh 2 faces delaminating like the original stealth was? I dont know a single original stealth owner that didn't have some kind of warranty issue
I think driver technology has hit a point of max distance with no control. Rory cut the shaft down on his stealth to try and gain more control. PGA pros are good enough to bomb it anywhere and recover close enough, not me or the average golfer.
Hit the stealth 2 plus - 240m max Hit my 2015 cobra fly z s 295max Going to keep trying to se if I can improve with the stealth but so far pretty average not an upgrade so far from my last driver 8 years ago lol
I had a driver fitting right before the 2023 best driver test came out and it was the same result for me. A 9° Stealth 2+ cranked down 2° with an Aldila Ascent shaft was the best performing of the 2023 drivers for me. The only problem was that my last year's Cobra LTDx LS was still just a little better. No driver for me this year! 😂
@@edanzore The Aldila Ascent shaft is a miracle for that. It's designed to be a high launch low spin shaft that actually works for me. Even in an extra stiff, it doesn't feel like a board. If you need to knock spin down but still need to have a high launch, I can totally recommend it!
There's plenty of complaints about the face breaking off. I generally like these drivers but I haven't seen anything worthy of the bloodbath price compared to a 2 year old driver
Not sure a driver that has the head popping out on so many batches for the first gen AND the second gen should be in the list.. That’s something i never see anyone considered, so many issue with the Stealth, its like a car, it could be the best ever car made, if it only work for 30k miles that’s not worth it

@@rdalmasso7326 Not sure many people have the clubhead speed to get the face to pop off. I have experienced it but it was my son and probably happened because he wasn't missing the sweet spot with his 179 mpg ball speed. I get a replacement within a week after I took it to Golf Galaxy and they contacted Taylormade. I'm not saying it's a good thing but I believe it's more to guys with high swing speed not hitting it square. You will however love the results of a solid strike with it.
I can guarantee that reports are exaggerated. I work in the biz and have access to other guys across the country. If the stealths had as many problems as people mistakenly think, there would be full recalls. The BBB would be all over that.
@@Andy-oz7bj ok I get it both. I got influenced I guess from what I have seen in reality and few other videos but yep logically the recall would be obvious
