Hi friends! I expressed some confusion in the term “rising sun” because historically the rising sun flag of Japan has been synonymous with Japanese imperialism and the horrible crimes against humanity that occurred during Japanese imperial rule. As a Filipino-Canadian, I’m a little bit more sensitive to this topic because this topic hits closer to home than usual. I understand that there is nothing wrong with the term “Land of the Rising Sun” and that the Japanese name for the country of Japan, “Nippon” or “Nihon” literally means the” sun’s origin” but you can understand my confusion and hesitation when reading that term in the Yudo TN insert. Thank you for understanding!

😂 I unapologetically got both without hesitation. I absolutely adore them both and have zero regrets.
I love the Yudo version and I’m sad I missed this. Water is my therapy. I miss Mos Burger so much. We had one in Honolulu across from my office building in the 90s. I ate there every week - the tomato Mos sauce burger for lunch a spam egg rice burger for breakfast. The perfect grilled rice.
Omg I had no idea Mos burger had a TN collab 😂 I'm in Japan right now and just yesterday, I went to the Kyoto store and bought the BEAUTIFUL blue Kyoto cover! I also saw the Yudo notebook at Tokyo Station (also yesterday lol) but I just got one of the inserts! I really want a passport size too.. but not sure which one/if there are more collabs I don't know about!Congrats on your new babies! They are glorious!

Nihon or Nippon the name for Japan in Japanese translates "where the sun rises."

Hi Job. Wonderful collection you are having. I just wanted to warn you that the blue TN can give color to the inserts like waxed orange insert that you’ve shown in your set up. I’ve been using blue TN for over a year with orange canvas pouch (or whatever it’s called) and the blue has transposed to that orange and now it looks quite a bit dirty. Needless to say that I’ve been carrying my TN in my bag or it was simply sitting on my desk, meaning that I wasn’t throwing it around the dirt or something. 😢
I think I like the Mos burger one better, because of the inserts green foiling. I also collect planners, it is one of my obsessions as an autist. Has been there since I saw my first Day Runner at about 14 years of age. I still have my Franklin Covey covers, and few Passion Planners, now I have a collection of Hobonichi, and just started on Travelers Notebooks. I like the aesthetic that you have with your system, clean simple and vintage looking. Whereas my Hobonichi covers are cute, with Doraemon and Magna being my favorites.
Well, pewter is a tin mix with other metals, sometimes copper and silver at 2&, the tin is 50 to 65%, and antimony of 10%. So you can wiki it also if interested. I love the blue, but I want a brown standard size. As for the Land of the Rising Sun, is because they are a country right after the international date line, so the sun rises there first. However, WWII it became a propaganda piece,and it gave context that is slowly going away with time.

The Japanese have always referred to Japan as the Land of the Rising Sun. That is what their national flag symbolises 🤓. No need to be bothered by that 🙂. I think it is kinda cool😎

Hello! I would recommend the camel passport traveler's notebook! It's quite a cute size and color is lovely! I"m not sure if she'll find the plain leather cover appealing but if you get some inserts for the TN and some fun stickers of things she likes she might enjoy it! Hope this helps!

I recently got into the obsession of Traveler's Journal, and I'm glad that I'll be heading to Japan next year! I love how excited you are opening up the goodies, just reminded me of how excited I'd get whenever I splurge HAHA. I'm just like binge watching your TN videos while planning my wishlist for TN when I'm in Japan - gotta mentally prep myself how much I'm gonna splurge haha :")
