I can't believe I saw it all the way from SoCal. My dad was like "it looks a plane from the palm desert airport had an emergency release of fuel" And I was like "... no I think the base at 29 palms fired a rocket... I think ww3 just started...." Get on my phone just to find it Elon doing his thing. 😅
Saw it from my kitchen window from North San Diego county. It was really funny: My wife said: "I just got a text that SpaceX is launching!" I said: "Oh look, there it goes." Went outside to see it better, and I even saw the retro burn from it dropping the first stage.
This video shows the closest representation of what I saw that evening from East San Diego County, but I didn't know what it was until I looked it up. I just knew something fast and powerful just launched from California and headed toward Mexico! It really was spectacular.
So I have watched several of these launches from Vandenberg and none of them have been as epic as this one, most launches are out of Florida so OF course I missed this one, I am so bummed and annoyed I missed it. Hopefully there will be another one to watch.
I camped at Jalama beach to watch this launch. It is a couple miles from Vandenberg. 10/10 definitely gonna do it again. This video must have been shot close to there.
Great camera work! And thanks for pulling back occasionally to show the contrail, which it so beautiful and complex in it's own way. It really gives you a better sense of just how fast that damned thing is going!
Most stable capture of one of these launches I've seen. Very Excellent, indeed!!
In Hemet, cars were pulling off the road and people were staring at the sky because it was such an amazing sight.
Of all the ground-based videos I've reviewed for the NASA SpaceFlight Forum, this is the best. Appreciate your skills and camera gear. Best,, Tony.

Saw it all the way from Phoenix, AZ
Did we see attitude control thrusters on the fairings? That's awesome!
Yes, we did
Best capture from the ground I've seen. Great Job! 🙂

Excellent! Congrats for the result of your vid! Cheers!
Sick 👌👌
You can always tell when MaxQ starts
Nice one! Where was this taken from?
So dope!
UFOs are cool but good old chemical rockets put up quite a show.
Great job in filming this launch!
Excellent video!
Best launch video on the net right now!! Perfect conditions helped too!?
Izin post tktk
What camera is this?
Very cool. Interesting that you couldn't hear it at all.
Appreciate the comment and yea the rocket is essentially silent.. It takes a few minutes for the sound to start rattling the place..

This is one of the 1st videos that can show the speed of the rocket. It looks like it is just a cell phone but it is great footage! 😊
Great capture. Very well done! Thanks.
😘
