- Tonight we're going to use one of the BIGGEST amateur telescopes money can buy (the C14 HD Edge) to look at a volcano on the moon, clouds on Mars, Ganymede rising from behind Jupiter AND a rare Mars occultation! And we're going to be doing it all from my roof in London!

I love it when people who upload get straight to the point. No ads, sponsors, or 3 minutes of talking nonsense.
begathon going on here tho ffs
Exactly
That picture of Mars setting behind the Moon bought a tear to my eye. What a stunning shot!
It's good!!!
Absolutely perfect! My shoes are burning. Thank you very much, you are my absolute favourite!
Same with me, it made my day.
same!
It's beautiful
That mars setting behind the moon image is phenomenal 🤯
You can see your money disappearing faster than the speed of light.

@@Ghosts505 He didnt spend money
Words can't exactly express how excited I am to watch another one of your videos. Your enthusiasm got me to buy a cheap telescope and a pair of binoculars for stargazing which I do whenever time and clouds allow. Keep on with the good work.
I did something similar last year :) , only it was a big 10 inch neutonian because A: I wanted a wide variety of objects to observe , and B: I also wanted to see some of the fainter stuff like the nebulae and a few galaxies , . , and altho it took time to get used to , it definitely works wiew these things , . . and I learned about a Lot of objects while doing so
I did something similar as well - over the last year I bought 50mm, 60mm, 70mm, 76mm, 102mm, 114mm, 127mm, 6", and 10" scopes 😅
@@A0111. why did you buy so many tho ?? . . other reasons why I bought just 1 big one was to try to reduce the need for more scopes , aswell as save up for a better one later , . But you seem to have done the Exact Opositte , what was your plan behind all of that ???
@@bluewhalestudioblenderanim1132 He's gone all gangster with all them scopes 😂😂
@@Mike-1000 well yea , but that also seems like a Lot of money thrown away 💥 so it is a bit weird🤔

My first thought exactly 😂
I got one of those beginner £40 telescopes for xmas and near lost my mind looking at Jupiter and several of its moons as tiny pin pricks of light a couple of weeks ago. I think I would genuinely be rendered speechless seeing this kind of detail with my own eyes. So so cool
Rory,
Your infectious enthusiasm and unbridled excitement are unrivaled on RUclips. It is those qualities that keep me tuned into your channel and indeed inspired me to start shooting images of my own.
Keep up the inspiration and educating and please never lose that spark of wonder in every endeavor.
Cheers & CS
I have watched videos from big astrophotographers like Astrobaclyard and Nebula Photos, but you are probably my favorite. Your content is so entertaining and informational, and you inspire me to try out DIY astrophotography projects
Astrobaclyard
Astrobaclyard
nebula photos i like him more. his videos are way more informative.
i agree, while there are many amazing channels, this is the one that actually got me back into the fields at night 😂
Do they have a bunny though?
The same clouds I can see through my £300 telescope 😅
OMG! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Spot on
🤣nice
Lol. 😂
Especially when you use 2 together 😂
I'm by a far stretch no astro-telescope-galaxies-shenanigans-guy, but I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Always happy to see one. Thank you good sir for sharing your enthusiasm! :)
Ah mate thank you so much, really appreciate it
Thank you for donating to the best astro RUclipsr out there
@@AstrobiscuitI need a 10k loan please I need to see planets like this omg
And its faked Unfortunately
@@abdohallak Back under your rock, trog.
5:50 I got the same feeling the first time I was able to observe Mars with my own eye (and camera).. I was shocked to be able to see details of the surface. It was in 2020 and Mars was at 63M km.. Very moving and surprising in a good and confusing way
It was nice seeing your planetary work again, all of your work is absolutely amazing!
After such a long time. I wish uploads were regular. This channel could have been the most subbed astronomy channel on the platform.
yeh but I can't make em good in 5 mins but I am going to try and be quicker.
I was *literally* just now wondering when I could see one of your great videos! Haven't even watched it yet, but I've already given a "thumbs up"! Thank you! I know it's a lot of work creating these videos, but we definitely appreciate the efforts. Hats off to you, good sir!
Hope you like it(this is quite a shirt one)
7:35 .... That face! Many of us nerds have been fortunate enough to make it at least once (and thankfully usually alone so no witnesses!). How lucky we all are to do so! Fantastic vid as always, folks! Danke! SS
I've binged all your videos on RUclips, some twice or more 😁I can't wait to see the new video 👍👍👍
thx
That occultation of Mars was the first one I ever observed live through a telescope. Viewed it with a 6" dobsonian under decent seeing conditions. It was phenomenal.
Those views through the Edge14 were absolutely hair-raising, really inspiring stuff! Incredible video as always mate, and good luck for your trip to the canaries! :-D Clear skies!
The live video was great. It reminded me how wonderful it is to watch at night. It feels like the sky has never been as cloudy as this year. Also great that you did not drop the scope. :)
Yeah, a new astrobiscuit video! Most entertaining astro channel of them all! Can't wait...
I am also very excited , and I hope this turns out to be somewhat like the "binocular astronomy" video whitch was also about what you can see and how things look
altho there's definitely not enough time for the 100+ objects that are visable in sutch scope . . it takes many hours to find and see all of them
I wish your situation was better so we could at least get 2 videos a month. Not gonna lie its semi mental torture waiting on a new video to drop. But i know it will be worth it.
Theres something special about your content. I really enjoy it. Keep it going!
You really make the best of this hobby. It's inspiring. Thanks!
That video was absolutely beautiful mate, thank you so much for the live view of Mars setting on the moon. A monumental moment you made accessible for thousands of people who just don't have the means to see these kinds of things ourselves, thank you ❤
Awe thx bud
@@AstrobiscuitMr biscuit, why don't you but yourself a Nikon P1000 Camera which has a focal length of 24mm ~ 3000mm and that is optical zoom and if you use the 4x digital zoom, you can go from 24mm ~ 12,000mm yes 12 thousand mm.
Wow! - and I do mean WOW! Really wish I could afford this telescope. One day. . one day. It's channels like yours that inspire me. Thank you!
Amazing !!! Great to see you back again after such a long time ! Can't wait to see what comes next 🙂
You just blew my mind. Great shot!
Flat earthers will say it’s CGI. There’s no saving them.😂
I really love watching your videos. Even though I have a small telescope, I still try to use it to its max.
I can't wait for part 2!
My weekend is made, a new astrobisquit video!! Amazing as always
Must have been a pretty calm night that you got those seeing conditions. Crazy detailed footage and images, thank you so much for doing this!
Max
I'm only two minutes in and can't help but think, "please don't drop it, please don't drop it" :)
The mars occultation picture looks like a sunset on the moon, but with mars instead of the sun. Beautiful
Just stumbled onto this channel, and oh my god this is incredible. Congratulations on capturing such amazing videos/photos!
I really enjoyed the effort that you put into this video...keep up the great work!
God you deserve so many more subs than you have right now. Absolutely top tier content, I constantly wait for new videos from you, legitimate TV style content this is. Love it 💪🏻🔭
Wow! Thanks for sharing. Better than a lot of the produced and scripted Astronomy shows! You never know what’s real photos or cgi….thank you for being clear, made it so great!
Thank you for you time and showing us.
yay new astrobiscuit!! I love all your videos :D
Absolutely amazing images Rory!!
I have to admit, I fully expected you to drop the scope 😅
What a mashine. Cant wait. ❤
Love your content. Keep it coming. I ' ll be here.
Came for the curiosity of the Telescope, stayed for the fun and cool info you were giving! 👍 Great Video!
First time I've seen any of your video's, I'm only 3 minutes in and your fun attitude has already gained my subscription :) looking forward to seeing more
One of my favorite things to do with my 8inch Dob is to plan the right time to watch the moons of Jupiter or Saturn rising or setting with those planets. Yeah the moons may be a little more then a pin point of light, but I still know I'm watching another planets moon rise from the comfort of Earth in my own backyard and that never gets old to me.
Jupiter was the first thing I looked at after buying my first telescope (also an 8inch Dobsonian.) It was a lot more eerie than I expected, just seeing another planet hanging in the blackness of space. I like to revisit it every time I have the telescope out.
Ah man, loved it! You just have the magic for getting folks excited for Astronomy. Loved the cup of tea impact analogy and fantastic images! Who doesn't want a big SCT after watching this :D
My head says 'yes' but my wallet says 'no'! Just have to borrow my Dad's C8 or get busy with my C5...
I'd be too scared to use it 😂
@@astroinfinland6680 At least you get dark skies in Finland to use it in!
Beautiful. I was excited as can be watching this epic footage! Cheers man.😊
Dude I love your enthusiasm
i love astrobiscuits videos
This is literally a TV show. I wish it was on all the time putting out new episodes.I love your voice.I could listen to you narrate all day.❤ I have a Celestron 80EQ and a couple nice eyepieces. I am quite impressed with it especially after I seen your pictures with the $10,000 telescope.
I wish someone would do a live feed each night, not sure why no one has done it already
I love your enthusiasm! 👍
Beautiful, thats all i can say. My favorite astro channel from now on. 🙌
I have a feeling, that Mars/Moon shot is worthy of submitting to the NASA Picture of the Day gallery.
Absolutely
BEST ASTRO RUclipsR! 😁
Breathtaking. I got tingles seeing your images of Mars and I'm not at all into astronomy or sky-gazing. To see the polar caps - wow. Thank you.
This has been the highlight of my day
Space often seems so theoretical of far detached from normal human experience. These videos of yours makes one realize that space is an actual, real, 3D environment with stuff lumbering around in it. Like those of mars setting behind the horizon of the moon, holymoly. That was like a scene from the Space Odyssey!
Great comment by the way.
Yes I agree 💯....great comment
I was thinking of some telescope designs (which will almost certainly have been thought of before because they’ve been around so long) but I was thinking of using magnetic levitation to suspend the secondary mirror to prevent spiking from the struts. Also being a telescope you wouldn’t have to worry about moving it to fast and dislodging the mirror.
I was also thinking of having a V or L shaped telescope to just get rid of the secondary mirror altogether! So the light is directly reflected off of the primary mirror (facing down both ends of the tube) into the eyepiece/camera
There are designs like a Schmidt or Mak that suspend the secondary in a corrector lens. For everything else, maglev just wouldn’t cut it in terms of cost-benefit.
The bent Newtonian does exist. It’s called a Herschelian. The problem with such off-axis designs is that they are more affected by distortions, and most implementations require an extremely long focal length to keep those distortions acceptably small. It is possible to make a true off-axis Newtonian, but fabrication of off-axis conics in general is much harder than making something azimuthally symmetrical.
@@eroraf8637and the added complexity adds more imbalanced weight! Now if you only want to do photography a focuser/camera assembly can be placed at the focal point above the mirror. Look up "Newtonian Camera"
Thank you for showing us those extraordinary pictures!!
Brilliant upload, im glad i found this channel. All the best. 🔭
Dear astrobiscuit can you try and picture the cube object in the centre of the moon in a crater cant remember which one and prove its real or not this would make a great video .sinus medii its at a type of giant tower i think
There are many unnatural anomalies on the moon!
yes but this one is important if its there its the soul catcher put there by the lizard aliens the moon was parked in position ancient texts tell you there wasnt a moon then all of a sudden booom moon appeared.@@emmeeji
This channel is a perfect example of quality over quantity. It's a shame more channels don't follow such a fantastic example.
your vids are really interesting. Always been fascinated with the Cosmos. thankyou for your amazing videos.
Dude, your videos are always so entertaining to watch. Thank you!
Ah thx G, very kind😁and much appreciated.
Always top notch content 👌
Im surprised you can see anything in london due to all the light pollution
I was in turkey few years back and this guy had saturn on his telescope for ppl to pay to view,it was amazing to see all the rings live
I want to set up on my very turkish street in London outsode the salisbury pub. Light pollution isn't a problem for the planets
Love your energy mate. Great video.
Awesome work! Perfect channel!
Love it buddy!
Great video. In fact, the best astronomy video I've watched. Inspired me to dig out my telescope!
Thank you for sharing this incredible views!
Love 💘 your channel Astrobiscuit.
Mars behind the moon 🤩🤩🤩🤩 wallpaper of the year
Thank you for this! That was amazing!
Some nifty editing there dude! I love planets and space stuff and I love editing, and guess what, I love your show! And wow!!, the crater solidifies when it is in that molten state right after an impact…really fascinating! Well, now it’s time to really get famous by capturing a live impact on the moon eh! Aloha, from three miles north of the fire, this brought me a smile, thank you!
That last image of mars going behind the moon was amazing.
Every of your Videos is a jounery. And a quite nice one ! For me you are the most interesting Astrochannel on youtube.
Your enthusiasm is contagious 😊.
Love your enthusiasm.
Awesome! The image of Mars going over the Moon's horizon gave me goosebumps!
Mars setting is a brilliant shot! Every time I watch one of your vids, I break out my 6" Newtonian. Looks like my evening is planned.
Nice music and good choice thx to Riktenstein!

I always looked at the moon through my telescope and saw these things, I didn't know what they were, especially the collapsed lava tubes, thank you for providing soo much information!!
A fantastic video, which I ran across while looking for another tutorial concerning an old hobby of doodling and sketching that I've recently gotten back into during the past month. May combine the two before it's over....Love it.
Dude you are so talented, love your videos :)
