  • In this video I show some of the methods I used to diagnose and remedy a vacuum leak I discovered after recieving a P0171 and P0174 diagnostic trouble code on my 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE

I'm looking directly at a vacuum leak @ 1:53 in the PCV tube/hose just before the elbow that goes down. The engine covers are known to rub holes in these plastic tubes. Not saying that's the ONLY leak, but that it definitely appears to be one. I just replaced that part on my 2012 Yukon due to the same issue.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that this video was incomplete. The vacuum leak ended up being a rolled fuel injector o-ring that I wasn't able to detect until I went back in with the smoke machine

Sorry about that, I didn't add on to the video all the editing I wanted to do. After putting all this back together there was still a vacuum leak, I eventually found it it was one of the o-rings for the fuel injectors it had rolled when I put my fuel rail back on the last time I had it out
