Definitely a better design than the original. With a small cam my truck made 270HP and 270tq at the wheel. That's roughly 350hp at the crank. Not bad for a little 4.8L.
@@AnthonyJ350 I just wonder if I have hood clearance on my Yukon. Is that tbss intake for square or cathedral intake ports? Are the sensors like map, evap, and whatnot the same? Or will I need to mod anything?
Great video, going to check those fuel trims with my scanner now as i feel like “something” isnt quite right with my setup. Take off is horrible but no codes. But just out of curiosity, you went with a tbss mani and 07+ tb? Isnt the mani 90mm and the tb 87mm? I have the opposite on my truck right now, its an oem 09 5.3 mani and ls2 tb (90mm) with an 5.3 tb spacer. Im thinking it might be the tb spacer reduction causing my throttle issue (going from 90mm tb to 87mm intake)
Did you have to retune for the throttle body? I have an 09 silverado and put on an LS3 throttle body. I just took the tb spacer out and going to go for a test drive.
When I start my truck up it blows out alot of smoke out the exhaust. I do have a O2 sensor out on my catylac converter at the moment. But I don't think that is causing it. I think it might be a vacuum leak???? 05 Silverado
@@AnthonyJ350 pretty much bogs way down when I take out, almost like it’s not getting fuel, and then eventually catch’s up and starts going. Kinda studders no matter the speed. Recently replaced cylinder 5 injector, I checked today to make sure all were seated properly. But I lack fuel pressure, however my fuel regulator doesn’t let gas into the vacuum line so I think it’s still good.
Omg i forgot about that trick , im kicking myself cause i knew this , i was a mechanic years ago , but im a bucket trucks owner now and its hurricane storm duty and my truck has a dam vacuum leak ...i would pay stupid big money to keep it from holding me up right now ..we got a dozen shops in my town ...not one of them can fix this now ...now is the key here , im ready to replace the whole bucket truck 167,000 dollars , but its gonna take to long to get it here and get used too it ..im used to this one and im a monster doing tree jobs with it ..and im slammed ....and im hiring tree guys ...no bullsit wanna bee's , real guys with background checks , and piss tests ..name your price , im going to the moon and back ....all abooooaaaarrrrddd ....
Perfect video and explanation step by step very helpful
Glad the video helped you!
Thanks for explaining that info around the 1:30 mark. Chasing a P0300 in my 00 5.3.
Glad it helped!
Great video and explanation of how to troubleshoot! Keep up the great work!
Glad you liked the video! 🙂
Isnt that a nnbs intake?
Yup, here is the video with all the parts to do the swap ruclips.net/video/YJYTMhY8wTs/видео.html
Is that trailblazer intake worth it? Found one for 106 but don't know if it will fit a 2004 GMC Yukon xl 5.3 L vin code z

Hey bro how about if you feel your car has a very low gas mileage, but you don't have a lean code.
How would I find out if there is a vacuum leak ?
You have to look at your fuel trims while driving
@@AnthonyJ350 thanks.
I'll try that tomorrow, thanks.

Nvm just realized you have a 3 bolt tb, completely different than the 07+ throttle body
I have a TBSS intake

What colour is the smoke?
Would this also work for a p0172?
It might
Sounds great
Thanks! I'll make an exhaust video when we finish up the tail section of it.
When I pour water on my intake water comes out my exhaust does that mean I got intake leak
Not necessarily. You're probably seeing condensation from the exhaust. Using water to figure out a vacuum leak isn't advisable.
So what if my short FT stays at 0 and my Long FT stays at 25.0 even when I rev it ?
What happens when you're driving?

@@caseysmanual6541 But you you're not registering proper fuel pressure?
@@AnthonyJ350 no it loses a lot of the pressure once the truck is shutoff.
@@caseysmanual6541 Have you tried searching around the intake for a vacuum leak?
