some pointers. 1. do an engine run up, and tune, before every flight. 2. check control surfaces, for correct movement. 3. if you are a beginner, make sure your "throws" the max movement is limited, so there is no adverse aircraft movements 4. Fly with someone the first time, so that an experienced pilot can trim the plane out before a beginner flies, this ensure the aircraft is stable 5. Make sure the plane is properly balanced before each flight
@@AustralianRuralAdventures i used to fly on the Great Salt Lake in Utah. I do not recommend flying near a salt lake. No good things happen whrn they crash and you cannot reach it in the mud flats. Lol
Sorry for your loss. You had plenty of speed. I wonder how long you charged the Nicad battery. With 10 years on the receiver battery and who knows how long the transmitter battery had been charged or if it had ever been changed out, either one could have gotten you.
No building on this model it came ready made in a BOX ON YOUR DOOR STEP MINUS ENGINE AND RADIO. PROBLEM WAS THE GENTLEMAN TOOK IT OUT ON HIS OWN WHITH OUT A QUALIFIED FLYER WITH HIM .SEEN IT SO MANY TIMES IN 50 YEARS OF R/C FLYING .AND FLYING ON THE SIDE OF A ROAD WELL THATS 🤭 STUPID.
I've rebuilt a similar plane from worse crashes and fuselage splits, just have to be willing to put the time in. I used to fly Nitro all the time, just from the vid, you either had a reversed aileron channel or the wind was greater than 12-15 Km/h. Flipped my very first time out with a similar outcome, ripped the vertical wing right off because my radio's aileron channel was reversed and the wind was fast which gave me very little time to correct, the switch got pushed over during transport to the flying site. After that I always did more thorough checks. Nitro planes just don't have the RPM range or instant power to push through wind like brushless electrics can.
That’s exactly like my first plane flight. At least it was a foam plane. You can pretty much glue them back together from almost total destruction. Using a flight sim before flying or buying a mini Rc plane is always a good idea.
Thats a tough one. Its always a bummer when it gets totaled before even really getting in the air. I hope you tried again and don’t lose faith. I’m thinking maybe you didn’t have enough speed before taking off or maybe it got bumped into the air due to rough ground, seems to have done a semi tip stall? Good luck.
My heart sank when it flipped over. Sorry for your crash. Peculiar handling. It rolled over and proceded to fly upside down briefly which suggests it might not have tip stalled. Were the ailerons reversed? It looks like it wanted to fly
Gday David, welcome to the channel. First time we've shown an RC Plane and I'm happy to welcome the new viewers. Yes you're on the money, it look like something was reversed likely causing the crash. We will rebuild.. The budget aussie way 😅
@@AustralianRuralAdventures Love it! I look forward to seeing your next flight with her. I come from Dubbo NSW and enjoy our local Model Aircraft club here. We have crashes from time to time and the biggest regret is usually that no one caught them on video 😂!!
Looks like reverved ailerons to me.. Dang that really sux.. rip poor plane, anyway looks like you all had fun so thats all that matters really... Build, fly, crash, repeat.. Quick pre flight check you can do is give right aileron stick, the right wing aileron should rise up & give your stick a high 5... Give left aileron stick & the left wing aileron will rise up..
Ahh is that a cadet? I had a cadet with a nitro .60 engine. I crashed mine on the maiden flight. but repaired it and crashed it several more times. then fixed it and sold it for 25 dollars more that I got it for.
looks like you had the left and rigth stick backwards. you went up and when you tried to correct the roll you pulled right and it continued harder left. have to do a flight check first. checking all the controls. you had plenty of speed mate. that plane will fly in almost no air speed. Cheers
Lol about to do the same to an early 90s Skystars II that has never been flown and just given to me. Just as soon as I stumble upon an igniter and some nitro fuel. Shelf queen no more muahaha ha ha.

I think what you meant to say was 'Fly the nitro goodness full speed into the moist bed of a saltlake'

Pretty typical of the old days. 2-3 weeks building then destroyed in less than a minute.

Well said mate, Jake did later say something similar about the channel being in reversed 😊🤔

I can’t stop laughing!!!! Like you said I feel bad for your mate, but dammit man!!!! That was some funny stuff!!!
It's all fun and games until something gets broken.. Then it's halerious 😅
Exactly like my 1st flight of my powered glider hahahaah
Never quite goes right 🙃 Try and try again
Thanks for the laugh fellas 😁
Welcome mate
Dougie cursed it , with aww mint lol
Anything Dougie feels is 'mint' breaks or ends in hardship
Hahahahaha
I just need to take a step back and reserve judgement sometimes 😅
Or not say aww mint 3seconds into air time lol

Oh no!
What a shame, looked like it would have been fun before catastrophic failure 😮

Plenty of time for a walk around of that 60 series ;)
Editing it right now 💪😍

Other than the decals that looks like the exact plane that I have. Flown it many times back around 1995.

It has Boomerang written all over it, not "cadet" which should be "Kadet".

There's one of these on eday at the moment
What do you call a Boomerang that won’t fly back?…a stick 🤣
At least she didn't get too far ambo :P WE WILL REBUILD
@@AustralianRuralAdventures many hours in my late teens flying model gliders. Glue and go again 👍
And how old is that? Perhaps enough to no longer be funny.

Thanks bub
Ailerons reversed for sure.
