A bit late to the channel, but I really enjoy your banter and wit in addition to the flights. I started flying in 1969 at age 10 - all manner from U-control to all types of R/C. Glow only, of course. This plane reminds me of our Pattern Flight ships - very fast, very neutral for all maneuvers in competition stunt flying. The typical engine was a 2 stroke .60 displacement, tuned for very high RPM (16,000-20,000) and thus effortless vertical flight and maneuvers... As you experienced, always got the blood pumping due to essentially zero room for error. Enjoy!!!

The OS 65LA engine is an amazing engine! Will never forget how I got a brand new one back in 2002, I was only 12 back then, it was an amazing and very reliable engine.

I love this plane, reminds me of an old plane that could not be rescued, very similar design but this has a bigger engine and smaller wings, awesome speed. My old friend, she had been leaking fuel slowly inside for over 10 years. I always emptied the tank after every flight, but it was in an enclosed part of the fuselage that you couldn't see. The landing gear failed on a take off, I looked to repair it, decided it was beyond me, took it to an old master who after a good look decided that a repair would not be economic, basically a whole new body would be needed, sad day. Still have an excellent os40 and futaba servos, 6v flight pack for another model. Awesome video and plane, superb flying. Salute, and slick landing
I have the exact same Engine, OS 65LA with the OS Extreme-Muffler. It has been without a plane for quite a while but i recently got a Shoestring Racer From GreatPlanes with Fiberglass Fuselage and it flies great with that OS 65LA. Keep up the good Work Pilot Robert and Captain Blaz :D

Absolutely right about the angle of attack, I think. Fabulous flight and landing, with half the elevator covering hanging off! Respect to Reinholt for this rare plane.. Fast, fast, FAST!! Big salute as ever from London.

What a great relic - and the plane aint bad either. I like to watch these widos without the sound first and then turn the sound on and watch again. Its like getting two new widos every time. I fly this Commander 2 in the early 80`s. My Motor was a 10ccm Webra Black Head with a Reso Pipe.
Last year it past the way after all this years :(

Capt. Blaz you need to where a peaked cap, then your eye won't water. You will find it sooo much better. Quick plane nice to see an old school plane .

Great maiden flight Captain Blaz. Your LA .65 is a great running engine. I noticed on the takeoff roll the nose strut was too short. It looked like you had to jerk the plane through rotation. Just loosen the nose wheel steering arm set screw and pull it out a bit to level the plane on the ground. You don't need much positive angle of attack. Just more than zero but not more than 1/2 degree. Keep the great videos coming. THX

I knew of an old man that took one of these rc racers and full scaled it with a rotax even covered it with the thickest red monocote. He was flyin on approach just short of touchdown and was over taken by a 150 and blew him off. Approach path and down into the trees. Lucky he wasnt hurt and the rotax was good with no prop strike.

Hi, Petrincic brothers. I could get used to playing with that place. I t is good practice for learning how to do stunt flying. Very controllable, with a long fuselage, The stunt plane would have a shorter fuselage, but is very tricky to fly. This plane is really nice flyer. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Stay healthy!

I l👀k at THIS plane, & the memories of 20 years ago flood back. I ran those engines up until the time I discovered ys .91 four stroke engines. (Every plane I had, from 40 size UP, got a ys 91.).
I can honestly say I don't miss nitro. Foam planes & today's electric everything makes it so much easier & better! 👍
I also love electro more. But balsa and glow must not die as long as we will film on this channel.

WIK had some great planes back in the days. BS-1 was my first plane and they built tons of WIK Jonny's in our club. One of the best trainer planes ever

Fast low and sexy as the model started to strip off her covering! I recall a similar experience when I forgot to pin my elevator hinges. The elevator started to separate away from the stabiliser. Boy that first fast pass was hair raisingly fast
Will have to check the bird really good before second flight.

please color match the engine cowling, that silver looks - id best keep that to myself!!!! - & the cockpit canopy needs tinting black!!!!! That's only my opinion tho!!! Wish i had the pics of my RAAF Pilatus PC-9, a perfect example
superb flying field for a great plane !! should put a remark , try the option of sunglasses , not for the plane , for the eyes of the Captain , it will be closer to topgun...!!

Haha the sound of a methanol 2-stroke makes it faster.
The methanol loosens the adhesive in the films when the edge of the film faces the wind. Therefore, always iron around the front edge. Greetings from Germany

OS LA 65 is a GREAT engine-simple and foolproof. 5 cell battery is Nimx in case anyone thinks it's a 5 cell lipo.
