Perfect. Strong and steady. Thanks.
Great little engine
Is it just me or does this sound like an .049 on steroids?
Best blend for this engine is 25% straight Castor 75% methanol. The high viscosity castor really does a great job of sealing the engine and supporting the bushing plus makes a ton of smoke.
Best of old school technology. Great vid Dave!
Not too shabby at all for a bushed engine.
most of the bush bearing OS ,older motors did that also. I like the new tac. love to find one.
If you ever wondered what the spring washer under the prop driver was for, now you know one reason.
The new tach is nice. I still have issues not getting glare on it though.
@@johnkelinske1449 you are very correct ,but its a thrust washer, does the same thing. keeps the crank from rubbing the rear back cover as much as it can
@@harveynewman4333 I know, dual purpose. One other thing it does is reduce wear somewhat if the motor is used in a pusher installation.
Runs great, LA series engines are very reliable and easy to tune, this features made the perfect engine for beginners but powerfull enough for intermediate to advanced flyers. In fact LA series has made more succsesfull r/c pilots than any other engine in our club.
i have the 65 in blue with a blue muffler also
Now that is cool. I have never seen one with a factory blue muffler.
also ran 2 to 3 tanks
Hi David, i have os 0.65 LA too. Is recomended apc 12x6? I have Kadet senio plane by Sig.

Hi David, thank you very much.
coo] power
That is about 17% oil content- all synthetic.
Cool Power is green in color as well.
@@DBJr1980 mine was blue
When I was flying 10 % was used 15 above for hellis
Can you tell me what the diameter of the air bleed hole is ?
No I cannot.
We got the blue head series in australia they did not have a good reputation but that 65 seems to be real goer,
mine was reliable didn't mind the dead stick once in a while
@@joeys5429 yes had the same problem, but i was learning to fly then
What are you talking about? I had the blue head series engine and it was very reliable, as long as you have clean fuel, right fuel yes the right fuel is more important then a right tune, no blockages, kinks in the the fuel system, you tune it right, run it slightly rich, change glow plug regularly then it's a very, very reliable engine, ofcourse if you stick to the 'she'll be alright' approach and skip all of these steps then it won't be a reliable engine.
@@joeys5429 Probably because the poor bloody thing seized up on your 10% oil
I thought LA was blue. This must be older or in Europe they sold only blue.
No, actually not. The LA series came out in 1996 with the 40LA and all were blue with a silver(AL) muffler. Only later did OS produce these in the standard AL color.
@@dmrcflyr2 Thanks for explaining. You said btw you could hear the knocking at some point. How is that possible if the nut is tightened and the crank pulled out.
As I said in the video it is just how the design is and it is normal.
@@dmrcflyr2 I would have thought it was broken. Good to know😀🇳🇱
isn't it running lean?
No. Not for an ABC/ABN break in.
@@dmrcflyr2 no smoke means lean
Ok. I guess my 30+ years of experience running glow engines doesn't mean anything then...
@@joeys5429 Depends on what oil and percentage you are using.
@@johnkelinske1449 5 to 10 % i ran mine
Good little cheap engines, I just wish they didn't use those shitty Phillips screws that can so easily be ruined as soon as you try to unscrew them and they're a little too tight... Come on O.S, hex screws aren't THAT much more expensive are they?
