Large scale aircraft are a pleasure to fly and this beautiful replica of a 2400mm Piper NE-1 Navy Cub is no exception. It has the same stunning looks as the smaller H-King J3 Navy Cub (NE-1) but on a much larger scale and is just as easy to fly. The Cub is made of balsa and plywood with a realistic Navy Blue printed covering.
The US Navy acquired 230 of the NE-1 version during World War II to use as a primary trainer. It was a dual flight control version with the instructor up front and the student sitting in the rear seat. Like all Cubs, it is a very stable flier making it ideal for training.
Being an ARF there is a bit of building to be done but most components are already assembled. You need to fit your choice of engine, either gas/nitro or electric. Fit the tail surfaces and undercarriage then the plug-in wings (ideal for transportation). Then add all the additional electronics (your choice) like servos, receiver/radio and you will be ready to go.
The plane comes with a cowl complete with dummy engine and full instrument panel. There is a huge door to the cockpit for easy installation of batteries and R/C electronics plus a set of pilot seats. Outside is a functional bungee style undercarriage with large wheels for easy takeoffs and landing on grass fields.
This plane is an Icon of the Era and is ideal for all pilots that like that scale look and great presence in the air.

Yeah I never noticed the louvers being different. Not on this video or the first one of it. I like the way Blaz did the cowling. It's a beautiful plane. Sounds so nice in the air. Awesome slow fly by!

I always like a large wooden plane powered with a Nitro engine. They sound great, fly slow and more relaxing to fly. Heck, I still have the large scale " Senior Telemaster" flying with a 120 Sato four stroke from the 80's......Fun video, Thanks Guys!

Fantastic flight with the Navy cub... love the ASP twin awesome sound...I have the L4 Grasshopper which is very similar to the Navy cub but had to settle for a 30cc petrol as the ASP was beyond my finances😆..great to see you back with the balsa planes and glow engines..👍👍

Sick fly by's Captain Blaz 👌yes you have to sometimes tinker with Nitro but they reward you with an amazing experience in the air that you just don't get with electric. Don't get me wrong I love the simplicity of electric but Nitro and Petrol just reward you with sound and smell ❤️😁👍

I've often thought that you guys should have some merch featuring that distinctive tree to the right side of the runway, but after seeing the zoomed shot of the plane just passing the tree around 28:41, I know you should. Just a simple two tone of the tree silhouette in one color and the plane silhouette in a second color would be amazing. Wish I had some graphic arts skills, I'd whip up a design for you. Outstanding job Gentlemen! I think this is one of your best video's. The combination of the cold hazy morning and sun was perfect not to mention the excellent flying Robert. I have a cub the same size and couldn't make up my mind about the engine but I think you just answered my question. Now if I can just find one.
Nothing like the smell of nitro in the morning. Orsum flight Blaz. Cannot beat that smile of a great nitro flight. That Cub is a great plane, shame they stopped making them.

Dam now I have to get mine going. Finally got everything I need. Iv been working on an old saito fa170r3. Had it run for 10 seconds on a half ass rig so I knew it would run. Now got it set up with all the correct electronics. Just gotta get it running off the tank and I can dial it in. Summer is coming better get them planes ready!

At our field, the nitro guys spend an hour trying to get their engines to run. The electric guys spend an hour trying to get their transmitters to work. Great fun either way! I think this is one of your better videos. Flying and camera work were spot on. Thanks! (NC/USA)
