Large scale aircraft are a pleasure to fly and this beautiful replica of a 2400mm Piper NE-1 Navy Cub is no exception. It has the same stunning looks as the smaller H-King J3 Navy Cub (NE-1) but on a much larger scale and is just as easy to fly. The Cub is made of balsa and plywood with a realistic Navy Blue printed covering.
The US Navy acquired 230 of the NE-1 version during World War II to use as a primary trainer. It was a dual flight control version with the instructor up front and the student sitting in the rear seat. Like all Cubs, it is a very stable flier making it ideal for training.
Being an ARF there is a bit of building to be done but most components are already assembled. You need to fit your choice of engine, either gas/nitro or electric. Fit the tail surfaces and undercarriage then the plug-in wings (ideal for transportation). Then add all the additional electronics (your choice) like servos, receiver/radio and you will be ready to go.
The plane comes with a cowl complete with dummy engine and full instrument panel. There is a huge door to the cockpit for easy installation of batteries and R/C electronics plus a set of pilot seats. Outside is a functional bungee style undercarriage with large wheels for easy takeoffs and landing on grass fields.
This plane is an Icon of the Era and is ideal for all pilots that like that scale look and great presence in the air.

Oh my god cpt. Blaz! The way that engine sounds!!!! If i were you id go and throw all my o tut her glow engines away and id put these boxer engines in all my glow planes!!! The exaust just sings! SALUTE!!! oh and just a side note my father (God rest his soul) when he was young he learned to fly and he got his pilot license in a j-3. So this video is very special to me. Thank you my friends! You could not have chosen better, all the Stiks fly really well. I have several of the Ultra Stick 25e (as well as others) and they are my favourite by far. And as we get older the bigger planes are easier to see!!!

I built my Cub in1996 and am still flying it today it is a 1/4 scale from Sig and I love it .
Ohhhhhh I knew this would be one of the best.... such a nice plane and the beautiful purring of the boxer engine. Indeed it’s the balsa glow engine porn on RUclips. What a relief this bird came home again in one piece and no more transmitter glitches.
I felt the tension of Captain Blaž during the flight too....it’s so special to be part of this!

Even though you boys did a range check it was good to see that Cpt. Blaz avoided the Bermuda Triangle area at your field. Balsa has come a long way. In the old days we got a box of sticks and sheets of balsa. We had to glue each rib, each spar, and each panel. Then we had to cover them ourselves. Today most of the work is done for you. Lastly, congrats to you both on 30k subscribers! Well deserved! Oh yeah!!!

Back in the late 70's ( As I recall) I built a 72" Cub kit and put a OS 60 4 stroke on it, it was an absolute delight to fly, I really enjoyed flying that plane. I think it might have been a Carl Goldberg kit, that was a long time ago! LOL
I think you guys need to have guests on your show. Someone like me :) That would be cool to travel across the world and go fly with brothers.

Now 'That ' sounds sexy! You cant beat the sound of a four stroke boxer. I'm pretty much a built up and glow man, though I have built foam wings veneered with obechi. At the moment I have nothing to fly, but after watching a few of your shows I think I'm gonna brush the cobwebs of my old Sanwa and get building. And yes it is without doubt the best hobby in the world. I salute you guys, watching your shows cheers me up every time. Your enthusiasm is contagious.

I recommend replacing the O-rings for the landing gear with rubber bands made from cutting up bicycle tubes. They are much more resilient. The heat shrink tube around the rubber suspension can only be shrunk on each end instead of shrinking the whole thing. That's what I did to my Cub.
It is videos like this that makes your channel one of my favorites . The interaction between the two of you is a joy to watch. Blaz flying and Robert filming, Robert flying and Blaz filming, it doesn't matter how you do it, it is a joy to watch you. Never stop doing what you do.

Pretty good landing. Nice plane, my dad had a real one when he was in his 20s. I remember reading the pilot manual when I was a kid and getting hooked on aviation.
