      @@Aviatior_Alex09 Its incredibly hard to get a visa for the USA. An employer (in his case, an airline) needs to sponsor him. In order to be eligible as a sponsor, one of the things the employer needs to prove, is that he cannot find a local (so someone in the US) to do the job.

    Denis, let me reassure you this was not your fault. That year Emirates got 777 crashed in Dubai, and one of results of investigation was to suddenly increase minimum requirements for new hire pilots. I have another friend who felt victim of this, and even more terribly - he had passed interview for EK, got job offer, resign from his previous job, and just few days before start with EK got email "sorry, we don't need you anymore...". This was really bad, took a long time for him to recover and find a new place. So your situation was not the worst one.
    For now I would suggest you to think about flying in North America, a lot of jobs here and opportunities for future life for you and family.
    and of course, Slava Ukraini!

      He really doesn’t need it (like at all). With him having slipped the border guards some moolah (💰) to jump ship on his home and country and now running his war channel, he’s banking what would easily be 15-50 times that which he’d ever hope to make at the point of retirement in the US, on a flagship carrier, and as captain of a flagship aircraft (747/a380/a350/787/777)…

    Denis, i know nothing about pilot qualifications here in the USA. What I can confirm is there is definitely a pilot shortage. United Airlines has opened a flight school in Phoenix AZ metropolitan area. According to Travel and Leisure magazine, United hopes to train 5,000 new pilots by 2030. Delta was running a “guaranteed” interview program. (unsure of program status at this time). There are several other major carriers that are covering the cost of pilot training. I know you are an experienced pilot and schooling is not what you are looking for. I am just using these efforts by the airline industry to point out that pilots are very much needed in the USA. Companies are pulling out all the stops to get qualified pilots in the pipeline. Well, just something to think about Denis. I am glad I stumbled on this channel. I watch your Ukraine videos, so I knew it existed. Since I have connections to airplanes, I thought the topic would not interest me. I should have known you as the presenter. Very interesting even for a neophyte. Thank you and Slava, Ukraine! Always..👵🏻🌵🇺🇸✈️ 🇺🇦

    F’k that. They need pilots. Pilots are a unique group of people who have a unique skill. What you cannot control is personalities. From my experience those personalities have a way of being dealt with. Humans are not robots. Trying to fit a large group of people into a narrow funnel ultimately will result into a “borg” like group. No free thought, or perspective. Aviation attracts abstract individuals with free thought. In my opinion, that is key to success. Never think your the smartest person in the room.

    RUclips offered me the video "Why Did I Resign From Emirates Airline" from Caner Acarbay in the Related section. As someone who probably values work-life balance over a huge salary, you probably dodged a bullet there.
    In the comment section under that video, there was another ex-Emirates pilot who was fired during the Covid times [probably] because he'd used too much sick leave because of his skin cancer.
    The guy in the video made it to the US, as did the commenter who's beaten his skin cancer - I don't know the details, but I wager that getting a working visa as a "skilled worker" is not impossible.

    I have a question, how do pilots keep their planes speed stable on landing without needing to adjust the throttle

    • @wheelz9086
      @wheelz9086 5 месяцев назад +1

      Im not 100% sure, but there's a system called "Autothrottle" which is dependent on the autopilot systems, specifically the Speed knob which allows you to select a specific speed. If you in put 140kts on the speed portion of the autopilot, the autothrottle will find a way to keep it 140kts at all times, unless its at stall speed then the plane will go full throttle automatically.
      BUT, at the same time i think most pilots and airline procedures disconnect the autothrottle during the approach or when about to land, so really its just pilot skill and knowing how much thrust to apply to keep a steady speed.

    • @Aerogamer158
      @Aerogamer158 5 месяцев назад +1

      A/T adjusts the fuel flow to maintain the desired thrust to keep your plane at the selected speed set on the AFCS. Or you fly it manually and use the thrust levers to maintain the desired airspeed. At some point above the touchdown altitude the thrust is moved to the flight idle gate and you flare to land.

Why do I pretend to be less dominant than I am? In my mind this was wrong. I'm quick to call out mistakes and to call out idiots, happy to make plans but I don't care to be the leader. So I had to explain away the results and be less than honest... I got the job, and it turned out to be a terrible company. In the end, I found a great job.

    Honestly I think you dodged a bullet with that one. I’ve heard bad things about Middle Eastern Airlines, particularly Qatar. I’ve heard the work life balance is terrible and life in Dubai is very restrictive by Western standards. Long work hours with high levels of fatigue seem common.

    • @MrA-km8ws
      @MrA-km8ws 4 месяца назад

      Its hard to believe your claims when high volume of expats make up middle east workforce. Pilots and their families are living the life pretty ok in middle east with tax free earnings. In the west and anywhere airlines are facing many accusations of pilot fatigue due to heavy duty during busy travel schedule. Do you always go by rumours ? Or is it a bunch of hate preachers who will take every little shortcoming as major negative thing ? I know friends who are pilots even in qatar airways and been at airline for 10+ years and still going. These very same experts who are quick to attack decent airlines are same who attack airline like delta airlines and Cathay Pacific some over reactors make claims that you will need to live of sandwiches and poor life as pilot in Hong Kong yet I come across expats who went from junior first officer and now senior pilots in the airline. Honestly speaking your experience is what you make it and how you behave. People love lifestyle in middle east and tax free perks and benefits why else is the country growing rapidly and tourism so high ? ...I guess people who want to get drunk and embarrass themselves in public and have wild fantasies then just stick to the western part of world.

    Привіт, Слава Україні! No way is Emirates the best airline to fly for. USA has the best work contracts, conditions, pay, and Unions. I know current/Ex Emirates pilots. I wouldn’t want to work there. Hopefully you can find something around the world with your ATR or 737 type ratings.
