UPDATE ABOUT SIDE BUTTONS HERE - ruclips.net/user/shortsRnIg4sP_xGo?feature=share For me, the only way this works is if the QC is untouchable and based on what we're seeing, thats not looking like the case. ***Ok my bad - its actually $279.99. Not sure that changes the convo much, but my bad nonetheless lol***
I like how the Viper Mini went from the best value/budget mouse on the market with the wired version, to a mouse that even makes Finalmouse say "Wait, HOW MUCH?" with this. Like, I'm sure the tech and quality is great and it'll be loved by those who buy it, but man I wish they'd gone for a Viper Mini Ultimate first. This just seems so unbelievably niche at that pricetag.
Even tho I'ma prolly get this just cause, they confirmed 2 more versions are coming. A "Pro" model variant probably like the Viper V2 Pro and DAV3, and a more mid range model in probably the 80ish range.
Idk, I feel like Razer is really reaching for unnecessary heights with the recent prices of their mice. $290 for large production mouse? Too much room for error and you see that with your model off the bat.
Razer announced that there will only be around 1700 units for every batches, quite limited actually. If this is too much, just wait for the plastic version to come out a few months later
@@vertuh9165 There are hundreds of countries, if you divide it equally then each country would only get around 20-50 units. Look at this way, Razer sells about 15 million units of the deathadder every year, this is only 1700 per batch. The main reason why the price is high is because the magnesium manufacturing is really tough and complex, which bumps up the QC process. This is also the first time a major company is doing magnesium mouses. If they can successfully master it, they can produce more and lower the overall price.
Thats how people are. So many people complain about Finalmouse quality control, yet they still sell out in less than five minutes. On top of that, people pay scalper prices for the mouse too.
Kinda wish they did this but with a shape designed specifically for those cut outs ... something about the rounded nature of the Viper doesn't quite suit it, but could be awesome with something else. Great video as always!
@Place Holder sadly not in recent memories (the only thing they made recently is the LGBTUVXYZ+++ mouse (G705), a refresh of their popular casual gaming mice (G502X), and more GPX colorway) But still let's not forget they pioneer the first flawless gaming mice sensor with their collab with pixart resulting in their PMW3366 (PMW3366 considered by many people including me as the first "flawless" gaming mice sensor, even Zowie still uses its public variant (3360) on their wired C series), the first gaming-grade wireless tech (first seen on G900), and the first lightweight wireless gaming mice which is viable even at the highest level of competitive circuit (GPW) combining their wireless tech, very efficient Hero sensor (so it can use smaller and lighter battery. Even 4 years later, Hero sensor still considered as most efficient gaming mice sensor. Its performance is now beaten by the likes of Razer's 3399 and 3950 tho), and great overall design (at that point in time)
@@AleksPlaysMc Just so ya know, sweat and dust are a non-issue with mice as long as you just simply got a can (or blower) of compressed air and a light brush. It won't actually do damage to the mouse unless you have hyperhidrosis (but you should just never use anything holed and have a protected keyboard at that point). Though it's odd, I don't mind this style of holes mice but hate the normal holed mice but prolly cause I've seen millions of them by now.
I know it's been out for a while, but on the subject of wireless updates to existing small shapes, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the MM712 from Cooler Master. The 710/711 had horrible QC issues, but my copy of the 712 has been flawless since it launched in September, and I feel like the shape is super underrated. Also, at 70 bucks and 59 grams, I'd argue that the 712 is currently the budget king for value in a smaller wireless mice.
Thank you for doing an actual review on this mouse and going over it with a lot of detail. The other vids I have seen so far seem to be just ads for this piece of hardware.

Yep it should have been launched along with the more sane version. I would expect a 54 or 55gram full shell version to be 149.99 similar to what best buy sells the V2 pro. 279.99 before tax is a hard pass for me specifically for a mouse that looks less comfortable with those huge holes.

For me the best mouse is the Razer Basilisk V3 PRO. The weight is great. The size and perfect and the ergonomic shape is the winning point here. The fact that your thumb has somewhere to rest on is key. It doesn't drag all over the mouse pad and creating a friction point. Love the video as per usual!! Cheers

The only problem I see is the scalpers buying whatever stock for this out and selling this on ebay for $400 or $500 like how they ALWAYS do with a Finalmouse drop.
Yeah you can't knock someone for wanting to buy a Ferrari at a premium price but if Honda suddenly came out with a $600,000 dollar car that looks like a slightly nicer Civic you'd probably be scratching your head with the rest of us. What they should have done is release it along side a normal version that isn't made out of Magnesium but still has the rest of the upgrades at a normal price. The problem is they went with Magnesium. The notoriously difficult to machine/work with material is probably 80% of why the cost is this high because other than that I'm not seeing anything ground breaking or amazing here. I love my Viper Ultimate and I could easily afford the upgrade but I'm just not going to because there's literally 0 reasons to from where I'm sitting.
ill stick with anythiing with the updated sensor and under 150... i think some brands are really pushing pricing when it comes to 'lighter mice'... thank you for the review
I mean, honestly... i know the price is insane, theres no way around that. But i honestly didnt think any company was getting close to that finalmouse starlight in terms of paper specs. (even I prefer my viper 2 pro over my starlight LOL), but razer managed to do it somehow. Good on them, and those who are interested in mini wireless but dont want this one just have to wait. Sounds like a plan, sucks to wait, but uh yea, im enjoying this. If they full size it ill probably be buying another viper model, its been my favorite mouse of all time.
This is exactly why I’ve been getting tons of orders for modded viper mini wireless mice. People are pissed for a good reason.. You can spend less than half of what Razer released to get the same thing basically but with the original design and not obnoxious holes. I don’t blame ‘em, smh Razer
Ngl, the holes and the price alone kinda turned me off about this mouse. One of my favorite mice that I’ve used and I’ve used many classic mice within a year… bought a g pro super light and a Deathadder V3 pro but nah…
Thanks to global supply shortages in past 2 years, all gaming companies discovered how deep the pockets of gamers can get and now we are in extreme areas where almost nothing makes sense price wise. Sad.
Any mouse priced above 200 bucks is just not worth it IMO. Beyond that price is just snake oil. Unless it has a 5+ years warranty for repairs, parts etc. then I'm listening.
I have been using the Viper Ultimate for a while though over time my prefernces have changed. Ive ended up taking off the rubber grips and also permanently play without the back shell (like the piece that would hit your palm). I much prefer the mouse this way, its lighter and smaller. i kinda want a new mouse, but not a mouse that costs me €319. thats just foul
No matter how much you do to make. design, paint a gold shovel its still a shovel.....there so much option in the market these days that the commercial brands dont have much advantage at all.....viper mini was a budget king razer totally missed the mark the fact that they put massive holes on the pam area shows they dont know what made og viper mini great shape
This mouse isn't for the average consumer looking for a solid mouse. As he stated in the video, it's the ferrari or lamborghini of mice, it's the pinnacle of mouse performance right now. People at the top.01% skill level are who this mouse is for, and it's a glimpse of whats to come. I love it.
I totally agree with Badseed on the value. It's not a mouse for everyone and I love the comparison with cars. If you have the money, buy it. If you don't, wait for the RVMU.
Magnesium alloy production is not that expensive. The pricing isn't fair in that regard. Although, the idea of using this material should become more prominent among manufacturers. For around $190 it would be a bestseller. But Razer is well known for overpricing their products. The lack of the onboard memory is a deal breaker for me. I hate using periphery software. A signature edition of a Deathadder V3 might get me really tempted, though.
My gosh, that price! In Canada that's nearly $400.00 CDN! I guess Razer is expecting this to be an exclusive mouse for Pro eSport Gamers as it feels to me they are who they are marketing this mouse to.
its not even good for that purpose bc the side buttons are apparently crap. its more of a rich guy clout mouse. for all practical purposes the less priced superlight and viper v2 pro and finalmouse etc are already top of the line
$280 is a bit obsurd! People hate on final mouse for 200 or more on secondary market…but see this and are impressed! These company’s are always 2 steps behind finalmouse!
so...we waited for the viper mini wireless for all those years, only to get this monstrosity for almost 300$ ??? dang razer, what a let down... i guess im gonna stick with my true, trusted and without holes viper ultimate.
Yea but Brian is it better than my G502 lightspeed? No but honestly I don't have a superlight mouse I love my G502, and I've been looking at the G502 Plus... I love Logitech's mousewheel (the fact that you can switch between free spin and notchs) but is it really worth it to get a superlight?
I have owned 2 vipers ultimates. And both of them after about 6 months , scolling down every now and then would do a click up before continuing to scroll down. Will not be buying another
I just bought a Glorious Model D (not - Minus). And I don't get the whole thing with lightweight, small, mice. This Razer doesn't make sense either. Yes, I suppose it might make some sense for a Professional FPS gamer in the top 5 percentile. But that's a really limited market niche. The rest of us need to learn to live with the fact that we're not that good, and peripherals like our keyboard and mouse are not going to really make us 'better'. Now I don't fault you for having one. Razer wanted the promotion that your Review gives their product. And I watched the video a second time just to make sure you never say, or imply, that this mouse made you a 'superior' player. So kudos! 👍👍👍👍👍
I love your videos and your beard is AMAZING :) i have a question. you have big hands. how do you feel about the lamzu atlantis vs the lamzu atlantis? i have the lamzu atlantis and i like it but i hate that it wobbels because the mouse feets are not all the way like it is on the mini. do you think the mini will be to small for me? i tried the X2 mini and it was to small for me. i hope you can answer my questions. and keep up the amazing job
This is total BS on Razers part, you have mice from HyperX like the PulseFire Haste, that cost 40$ for the wired and 50 for the wireless, and you're telling me they couldn't do the same thing ? Sorry but 300$ for a wireless mouse is just too much, especially when you look at the wired version that's like 40$ these days.I think this is some stupid marketing plan from them and if it's not, they are idiots.
Looks almost like a downgrade from Viper Mini... DPI button is a must on top, personally would rather have it wired since already have payed premium for paracord cables and smaller mouse skates are just meh. I bet they are using the same garbage switch design for the middle mouse button which will start having issues in less than a year unless you give it monthly WD-40 baths.
@@1haunt : Doesn't need to be a DPI button, can remap it of course ... but one less button on top is unnecessary when it can clearly fit in there just like in the original version. But the bigger issue imo is the simple fact that they are still using normal switches for side and middle buttons instead of optical.
Okay so the price seems *stupid*… but here in Aus, a Superlight is $300 lol, and this is $450. Once you’re spending that much, honestly it starts to be a consideration…
bro. I visited one of your early videos... I missed some keyboard destruction or perhaps you could do some PC hammering. you could be like the Rock or Vin Diesel. action
Damn they needed to launch the Regular edition along side this.... Super unfortunate. The enthusiast in me agrees with your last take heavily! but we need one for the people too :/
I know the shape of the g903 was a little polarizing for some people, but I wonder if Logitech could come out with a full magnesium shell version of that mouse because I do like me some unusual mouse shapes and lightweight material.
Hey BadSeedTech, in another review I saw boardzy had some complaints about the amount of play in the side buttons. In his video it was super visible. Did he get unlucky with his unit or do you also feel any of that with yours? Mainly just curious, can't really say I'm buying one any time soon
Another person noted that the side buttons have a ton of front/back movement on their unit, do the side buttons on your unit have that as well? My Viper V2 Pro has no movement in the side buttons and it's like hafe the cost haha. I like the idea of the magnesium shell, but like you and others have said, for the price the mouse should be perfect. Thanks in advance!
I use a lightweight mouse which hexagonal holes on the shell and dust and dirt does get inside the mouse which I have to clean on a regular basses, this new Viper Mini man is gonna be a real nightmare to keep the inside of it super clean which those massive holes on the top shell.

They should seriously plan on making a deathadder mini wireless. The wired one I use is perfect for me
Thanks to global supply shortages in past 2 years, all gaming companies discovered how deep the pockets of gamers can get and now we are in extreme areas where almost nothing makes sense price wise. Sad.
I will always remember when you recommend the orochi v2 against a gpro superlight
Two more versions is coming i hope one of those will include a viper mini wired 8khz
I love this guy reviews (and beard) but I mainly play CoD so I’ve become a traitor and bought a controller, and I’m loving the consistency
Us: Where's that mouse everyone wants from Razer?
Razer: $300
Oh boy big fat badseed video. Also stoked for your upcoming switches
What keyboard are you using, looks great. Thank you.
Before anyone says anything, keep in mind this is the full metal version of the viper mini.
Plastic ones are coming soon.
Thanks for this review, I really thought you would pan it.
300 Bucks... We've gone too far, burn it all down.
I love it.
The wait continues for the plastic no holes version
Hey Brian,
What chair and color are u using? It looks like Secretlab.
wow that price tag... more than a final mouse nice.
Wow. All people were asking for was the Viper Mini with Viper Ultimate/V2 Pro internals. Can't believe they baited everyone with this.
so...we waited for the viper mini wireless for all those years, only to get this monstrosity for almost 300$ ???
dang razer, what a let down...
i guess im gonna stick with my true, trusted and without holes viper ultimate.
Will not be buying another
6:53 - This isn't a conversation of "is it worth it"
Title of video: iS It wOrTH iT ?
😂😂😂
Lol yup, that’s the joke
@@badseedtech I knew you were messing with us. Bought mice and keyboards based on your recommendations. Love your videos. Keep it up.
So kudos! 👍👍👍👍👍
Straight up wish the Logitech would come out with a G915 60% wireless keyboard to pair with this. It would be such a sick setup.
Dude your music is always on point. I like your take on things too. Great videao!
Thanks so much, man. Appreciate you.
I am indeed pissed that they didn't release the consumer friendly version at the same time. It'll likely take months, ridiculous
It should really have a longer warranty. Like at least 5 or 6 years. 3 seems shitty when it's this expensive.
probably the only perforated mouse design i like
What keyboard are you using in this video? Thanks!
No RGB is right!!! More companies need to realise that I don't see with my palm ffs
DPI button on top isn't a must at all lmao
@@1haunt : Doesn't need to be a DPI button, can remap it of course ... but one less button on top is unnecessary when it can clearly fit in there just like in the original version. But the bigger issue imo is the simple fact that they are still using normal switches for side and middle buttons instead of optical.
This is $400 in Australia. What the actual fuck. I just imported a FM last legend for less then that.
Okay so the price seems *stupid*… but here in Aus, a Superlight is $300 lol, and this is $450. Once you’re spending that much, honestly it starts to be a consideration…
So... Its basically a finalmouse?
bro. I visited one of your early videos... I missed some keyboard destruction or perhaps you could do some PC hammering. you could be like the Rock or Vin Diesel. action
Over here in germany we need to pay 350$ for it 💀💀
Ur b roll and music is on point big dawg!
Bros beard is FIREEE
Does it has the classic usb receiver ? For on the go ? Or Bluetooth?
How come it only 49g with that holes when there other mouse with full shell is on same weight lol.
Because it must have large battery to support 4k and optical switches.
@@lepari9986 they should make wired version with a 8Ghz polling rate.
Man the production value on this video was insane. Really enjoyed this one even though there's no way I'm getting one of these mice
Damn they needed to launch the Regular edition along side this.... Super unfortunate.
The enthusiast in me agrees with your last take heavily! but we need one for the people too :/
Yep they went all final mouse on this and added the razer tax on top lol.
I know the shape of the g903 was a little polarizing for some people, but I wonder if Logitech could come out with a full magnesium shell version of that mouse because I do like me some unusual mouse shapes and lightweight material.
Still using the g903. Absolutely love it!
Hey BadSeedTech, in another review I saw boardzy had some complaints about the amount of play in the side buttons. In his video it was super visible. Did he get unlucky with his unit or do you also feel any of that with yours? Mainly just curious, can't really say I'm buying one any time soon
Just dropped a short on that today
@@badseedtech ah nice, just saw that. Interesting to hear they had QC issues even on a 280USD mouse 😬😬
Thanks in advance!
what keyboard is that love that rest i have wrist issues looks very good !!
That is the Asus ROG Azoth with a 60% rest from Wooting
As someone that bought the RAT X3 pro…. I appreciate this mouse.
I use a lightweight mouse which hexagonal holes on the shell and dust and dirt does get inside the mouse which I have to clean on a regular basses, this new Viper Mini man is gonna be a real nightmare to keep the inside of it super clean which those massive holes on the top shell.
I'm still using the 2004 G5 laser mouse from logitech. The one with the adjustable weight 😉
the fact that they managed to make a mouse thock is crazy
That b roll intro is too good 🔥
I come for the tech. I stay for the beard.
