For 280 it’s absolutely not worth it for anyone not into the hobby… that being said It’s the perfect mouse for me and I got a good number on the serialization
@Josh Oldham Even so, it would still compromise the build quality doing it. Some small holes would be fine but you can't go overboard doing it to the base
@Josh Oldham Yea, that way it still retains good build quality and wont flex easily. Razer shouldve had a shell u can atleast put on the back of the mouse like on the normal viper mini
This mouse is disappointing considering that you can buy almost two finalmemes with it. For me I'm just going to wait for the regular viper mini wireless and weight reduce that. Way to go razer in trying to drastically increase your profit margins only for your most loyal enthusiasts, sad to see.
Wouldn’t waste the money on the FM as you said just wait for a cheaper version of this. On this version as it stands razer can’t making any profit but they will on the others
@@ThotsAndPrayers But my point is that neither should be as expensive as they are. Not a justification in my opinion. Also with those massive holes it shouldn't cost anywhere near what it does.
Do you have a data base for all the mice you took apart and the parts for each mouse? I feel like that could really help for modding to have all the info in one place. It is like you have taken apart almost every relevant gaming mouse so you would have access to the information.
I do over on www.Beardedbob.com. It it’s needs being back up to date as I’ve neglected it the last 2 years. If people think it would be useful I’ll get it back up to date.
@@Beardedbob I was thinking a spread sheet so all the info was there at once. I hope other poeple feel the same so there could be even a project where multiple people contribute. I had issues in the past finding out parts of mice like encoders.
I have this mouse and it's incredible, but my only issue is that the scroll wheel is too easily turned. Would you happen to have a recommendation to tighten the scroll wheel or make it slightly harder to spin? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Excellent video!
pretty ok, but that does not beat what we can do in our sheds. Heck back in high school back in 99-02 I milled a mouse out of alu for myself with a ms intellimouse as a base and they dare to charge 300€? :P What would they charge if they did that :D Still hate the shell as it is way too intricate. I would just have "buttons" on a hinge from the shell and then they would simply rest on the switch.
Raesha is the company that makes Razer’s optical switches. Thats technically not the company name and just one of their name brands. LK is their other name brand. I’m pretty sure they just chose Raesha as their name in a cheeky way to tell other people that those are the switches/encoders Razer uses, since that is how you would pronounce Razer in a language that doesn’t have the letter Z or hard ending R. Also, this company only makes optical things as far as I can tell, so that encoder is probably an optical encoder! This is good for longevity and probably won’t get any scrollwheel issues like the TTC gold gets where dust can get in and mess up the contact surfaces causing it to scroll up and down erratically.
That's cool to know I was thinking about if the v3 optical micro switches were worth it seems they are just stiffer and better tolerances then the v2. I wish razer made these mouse hotswapable like Asus did like they legit just popout, would've been a cool feature or party trick lol.
Yea I'll be honest this is definitely the best feeling mouse I've ever held and used (still don't think it's worth the price for just that). Optical stuff is the future so I expect Logitech to move more and more into it since their G502 X series has optical switches and I believe an optical encoder too. I look forward to what the regular Viper Mini Pro will be in the summer.
@@Shyvorix Kailh recently released Kailh GO on the XM2WE which is another Optical switch and GX for the XM2W which is a new style mechanical that shouldn't doubleclick or need a debounce delay since it uses sr latch debouncing. I'm so glad these third party mice manufacturers came and are starting to innovate and force Razer and Logitech to improve. Hopefully the optical switches will all use the same kind of mounting and we will be able to swap between different brands in the future for different clicks.
Beardedbob ineed help broke g pro superlight battery what battery do i buy to replace it. Needa know where to buy it cause cant find anything on google
Hi, I have a viper mini which has a faulty optical movement sensor LED. Do you know what the LED used for the optical sensor is? I would like to see if I can replace it. it's the one which is facing the plastic lens/prism. Thanks.
@@Beardedbob Yea as amazing as this mouse is I doubt their margins are any good. Magnesium is finicky to work with at this level of detail. I wonder if selling at 200 would've started off as aloss lol...
Hey Josh not sure if you fixed your unit or not I was able to open mine up and re-tighten the screw for m2 you need a t5 torx/very small philips head to open the mouse/ fix the screw on m2
@j0eykarate264 hi, yeah I had no luck tightening mine didn't solve the issue. I ended using a jank fix or a little piece of grip tape holding mouse 2 to mouse 1. It works quite well. I cant be bothered with the rma process. Glad you sorted yours.
mine was a unit from the first batch and had no QC issues when I got the mouse, seems as if the mains loosen over time makes sense that m2 is the first cuz us gamers spam it haha
Thx m8 yeah the RMA process had been a nightmare was almost as if Razer was going out of their way to not help with the issue, they kept sending me faulty rma links for 3 weeks lol... Shame that this even occurs on a mouse at this price. Gonna likely have to do it again in a few months as well. Take care!@@joshworley8481
Battle of the Mini Mice: Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition vs Final vs Lamzu vs Gwolves - ruclips.net/video/VqV2R9Z6C50/видео.html
Great teardown as always. I had nasty button wobble and grinding/popping. Really a shame they didn't do better with this.
For 280 it’s absolutely not worth it for anyone not into the hobby… that being said It’s the perfect mouse for me and I got a good number on the serialization
would love to see you try to do an extreme weight reduction on this mouse! but with how expensive it is it seems risky
I will once they release the un numbered versions

Since when finalshit is synonym of quality?
@@Beardedbob Wait... u mean they dont make profit selling this Viper Mini SE?? if yes, this is cause of the material used or what?
Owning both mice, I can confidently say the VMSE is worth double the price of FinalTrash.

they could’ve very easily made this mouse weigh like 41 grams, sad that they didn’t
"Worth $280? Fuck no" LOL. Thanks for the teardown
definitely not. but it is the best mouse I've ever used by a large margin. Still not worth it though

You’d need to swap out the encoder with something like a TTC gold
Mine is too tight to scroll! wtf are they doing different thing on same products (Quality control is bad)? And have you ever figured it out?
Are they coming out which a cheaper version on the mini?
Hey mate, is this an optical encoder or a mechanical one. Mine's acting up and I'm thinking about replacing it. Also you said 11m, is that correct?

Weird that they didn't at least skeletonize the underside as well. Not to mention they could have made that magnesium as well for the price.

Thanks glad you enjoyed it 👌🏻
Where is the asus aim lab mouse?
waiting in line 😂 i'll out a vote on twitter for which one to test this friday
but is it worth $280
No…. But even at this price it’s cost Razer a lot to realise it. On this one they aren’t making any £££ they will when they release other versions
