UPDATE ABOUT SIDE BUTTONS HERE - ruclips.net/user/shortsRnIg4sP_xGo?feature=share
For me, the only way this works is if the QC is untouchable and based on what we're seeing, thats not looking like the case.
***Ok my bad - its actually $279.99. Not sure that changes the convo much, but my bad nonetheless lol***
ahh 280 dollars sounds like a deal
289 after tax. There, Fixed it for you.
I think it should be $299.99. I mean, why not?
@@Hakka2424 depending on your state it's probably close to 300 after tax
All good - its 319.99€ here in EU lol
I like how the Viper Mini went from the best value/budget mouse on the market with the wired version, to a mouse that even makes Finalmouse say "Wait, HOW MUCH?" with this.
Like, I'm sure the tech and quality is great and it'll be loved by those who buy it, but man I wish they'd gone for a Viper Mini Ultimate first. This just seems so unbelievably niche at that pricetag.
Even tho I'ma prolly get this just cause, they confirmed 2 more versions are coming.
A "Pro" model variant probably like the Viper V2 Pro and DAV3, and a more mid range model in probably the 80ish range.
@@Shyvorix hopefully they dont cut out too many features from the cheapest wireless model
@@ItsTealv Of course they will cut out a lot of features. Use your head, Razer is a business, not a charity.
@@ItsTealv A few maybe but probably just 1k hz only, 3370 sensor, etc.
@AkatsukiSasuke923 Yea from a community and outside perspective it's fucked but from a business standpoint it's perfect.
Kinda wish they did this but with a shape designed specifically for those cut outs ... something about the rounded nature of the Viper doesn't quite suit it, but could be awesome with something else.
Great video as always!
Thanks man! I don't mind it so much as my hand doesn't really make contact with the shell, but it could definitely be a comfort issue for some.
I know it's been out for a while, but on the subject of wireless updates to existing small shapes, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the MM712 from Cooler Master. The 710/711 had horrible QC issues, but my copy of the 712 has been flawless since it launched in September, and I feel like the shape is super underrated. Also, at 70 bucks and 59 grams, I'd argue that the 712 is currently the budget king for value in a smaller wireless mice.
ive been using a viper mini for 3 years. its such a slap in the face to be waiting for a wireless version for this long and they drop this $300 mouse first. why would they drop the most expensive version when the original is less than $45. im still waiting for the viper mini ultimate. if its not out by the end of this year im done with anything razor. i could of bought so many other equivalent mice to what a normal viper mini wireless would be. im not dedicated to brands. i have no other razor products. i just LOVE the viper mini.
Yep it should have been launched along with the more sane version. I would expect a 54 or 55gram full shell version to be 149.99 similar to what best buy sells the V2 pro. 279.99 before tax is a hard pass for me specifically for a mouse that looks less comfortable with those huge holes.
@@Demon09-_- they count on gullible people -> impatient customers and people who dont know better (that a comparable cheaper version will release late), it's classic Razer marketing, akin to highend sneaker releases and such...
cuz it’ll give the impression that the $150 version coming later feel like a better deal than it otherwise would have been without this mouse as a reference point
Thank you for doing an actual review on this mouse and going over it with a lot of detail. The other vids I have seen so far seem to be just ads for this piece of hardware.
RandomCommercialP?
You can get a Pulsar X2 + Lamzu Atlantis + XM2we for that price!?!?
Man I have been waiting for the viper mini wireless, unlike most people I kinda like the design. Though for that price point its insane.
Id rather pay that much for Pwnage Stormbreaker series. 49g vs 53g is not much a big difference on my end.
I kinda agree that it's outrageous, but honestly, I wouldn't mind cus you're garunteed the QC will be perfect. Unlike FM where I feel like they cut corners to get the price low, enough.
@@aketchy4270 I can see that ab qc but with the finalmouse it's cheaper, not by alot but still. It's also lighter and has better battery life. I was hoping to get rid of my finalmouse, if I can sell it at the price of this mouse I may. But still an insane price.
3:46 Yup, we are hearing at the pioneer of "Custom mechanical mice" kinda stuff.
Dam the day after Finalmouse announce their new carbon glass coming out this year - honestly the day they release a magnesium alloy baselisk I'm game.
everytime you say "comared to the wired" my body started shaking
considering I bought the viper mini for 20 bucks
and this shit is 14times more expensive than the wired one
but as always great review
i dont get it so your just paying for the razer name ?
Did you even watch the video?
Intro felt like a MKBHD video really high quality videos man ♥️
Damn that's a big compliment. TYSM
BadSeed always keeping it real with the honest reviews
I wonder when someone is gonna make sapphire crystal skates. Should be amazing even if a bit pricy
I think Infinity Mouse has sapphire dots
For me the best mouse is the Razer Basilisk V3 PRO. The weight is great. The size and perfect and the ergonomic shape is the winning point here. The fact that your thumb has somewhere to rest on is key. It doesn't drag all over the mouse pad and creating a friction point. Love the video as per usual!! Cheers
I would like to agree with you, the weight, shape, clicks, movement, everything was amazing, however for some reason that mouse hurt my hand I had to stop using it. (I'm a fingertip user)
I love the ergonomics and buttons on the basilisk, but the size and wieght are a no for me, it's great on mmos or any game I need the extra buttons, but fps, I'd rather have a lighter mouse. But if in the future there is a 50 - 70g wireless mini version of it, that I can use for fps too, you bet your ass that would be my perfect mouse.
Another person noted that the side buttons have a ton of front/back movement on their unit, do the side buttons on your unit have that as well? My Viper V2 Pro has no movement in the side buttons and it's like hafe the cost haha. I like the idea of the magnesium shell, but like you and others have said, for the price the mouse should be perfect.
Thanks in advance!
Wow. All people were asking for was the Viper Mini with Viper Ultimate/V2 Pro internals. Can't believe they baited everyone with this.
Hope they release the budget version, I mean the "real" RVM wireless that majority of us are waiting for a long time.
on your 500k sub mission hope you get it, my favorite reviewer
I've been using the Viper Ultimate for 2 years now, and if they came up with the regular size of these, I'd cop in an instant, just for the looks and shape alone
ill stick with anythiing with the updated sensor and under 150... i think some brands are really pushing pricing when it comes to 'lighter mice'... thank you for the review
I have been using the Viper Ultimate for a while though over time my prefernces have changed.
Ive ended up taking off the rubber grips and also permanently play without the back shell (like the piece that would hit your palm). I much prefer the mouse this way, its lighter and smaller.
i kinda want a new mouse, but not a mouse that costs me €319. thats just foul
Ngl, the holes and the price alone kinda turned me off about this mouse. One of my favorite mice that I’ve used and I’ve used many classic mice within a year… bought a g pro super light and a Deathadder V3 pro but nah…
As someone that bought the RAT X3 pro…. I appreciate this mouse.
I'm still using the 2004 G5 laser mouse from logitech. The one with the adjustable weight 😉
Looks almost like a downgrade from Viper Mini... DPI button is a must on top, personally would rather have it wired since already have payed premium for paracord cables and smaller mouse skates are just meh. I bet they are using the same garbage switch design for the middle mouse button which will start having issues in less than a year unless you give it monthly WD-40 baths.
DPI button on top isn't a must at all lmao
@@1haunt : Doesn't need to be a DPI button, can remap it of course ... but one less button on top is unnecessary when it can clearly fit in there just like in the original version. But the bigger issue imo is the simple fact that they are still using normal switches for side and middle buttons instead of optical.
Thanks for this review, I really thought you would pan it.
Hey Brian,
What chair and color are u using? It looks like Secretlab.
Before anyone says anything, keep in mind this is the full metal version of the viper mini.
Plastic ones are coming soon.
Straight up wish the Logitech would come out with a G915 60% wireless keyboard to pair with this. It would be such a sick setup.
Magnesium alloy production is not that expensive. The pricing isn't fair in that regard. Although, the idea of using this material should become more prominent among manufacturers. For around $190 it would be a bestseller. But Razer is well known for overpricing their products. The lack of the onboard memory is a deal breaker for me. I hate using periphery software. A signature edition of a Deathadder V3 might get me really tempted, though.
Two more versions is coming i hope one of those will include a viper mini wired 8khz
Those alcohol pads must be $20 added to the price plus the other accessories probably adds to the total price of the mice.
Yeah they're coated in diamond juice for insane polishing. real next level stuff
Finalmouse Starlight-12 Phantom Wireless is 190 used on ebay. This video just made me look LOL
Us: Where's that mouse everyone wants from Razer?
Razer: $300
When will they stop deleting the DPI buttons from the top of the mouse? G wolves is the only competitive shooter mouse manufacturer I know to still have a DPI button on top.
Yo man. Glad your starting out the year strong. I was talking to Rambo and telling him how dry the end of Q4 was for gaming tech. ‘23 is looking like a crazy year for tech.
Ay thanks man! Rambo is my guy fr fr
Damn they needed to launch the Regular edition along side this.... Super unfortunate.
The enthusiast in me agrees with your last take heavily! but we need one for the people too :/
Yep they went all final mouse on this and added the razer tax on top lol.
You can't sell the 4k dongle separately, it's locked to the signature edition.
They should seriously plan on making a deathadder mini wireless. The wired one I use is perfect for me
Okay so the price seems *stupid*… but here in Aus, a Superlight is $300 lol, and this is $450. Once you’re spending that much, honestly it starts to be a consideration…
No RGB is right!!! More companies need to realise that I don't see with my palm ffs
6:53 - This isn't a conversation of "is it worth it"
Title of video: iS It wOrTH iT ?
😂😂😂
Lol yup, that’s the joke
@@badseedtech I knew you were messing with us. Bought mice and keyboards based on your recommendations. Love your videos. Keep it up.
wow that price tag... more than a final mouse nice.
My gosh, that price! In Canada that's nearly $400.00 CDN! I guess Razer is expecting this to be an exclusive mouse for Pro eSport Gamers as it feels to me they are who they are marketing this mouse to.
its not even good for that purpose bc the side buttons are apparently crap. its more of a rich guy clout mouse. for all practical purposes the less priced superlight and viper v2 pro and finalmouse etc are already top of the line
Set up game profiles that auto switch to 4k running the sensor at 4k on desktop just kills your battery.
"No creaking, no flexing, no nothing." - I see what you did there xD
I feel like at this point we are at "Let's see how much these idiots will actually pay for a mouse."
Hey BadSeedTech, in another review I saw boardzy had some complaints about the amount of play in the side buttons. In his video it was super visible. Did he get unlucky with his unit or do you also feel any of that with yours? Mainly just curious, can't really say I'm buying one any time soon
Just dropped a short on that today
@@badseedtech ah nice, just saw that. Interesting to hear they had QC issues even on a 280USD mouse 😬😬
I had the Razer Viper Ultimate for many years, and it just started to cause disconnection problems.
So... Its basically a finalmouse?
Sweet Jeebus, these are selling for $550 on the secondary market...crazy.
My 14 year old nephew had a viper mini I bought him. His hands grew too big and I gave him my old death adder pro and he likes it alot more.
Also badseed, know any good 65gram linear switches? Non pre lubed. Appreciate you
So glad they charge like $40 extra for nice ass packaging that people will either throw away or leave in a closet and never touch. I get that people like good packaging, but I don’t really get going that OD on it when the mouse was already going to be pricy
I think they just wanted to go all out on this small batch run. They two other versions they've announced won't have presentation stuff like that.
It should really have a longer warranty. Like at least 5 or 6 years. 3 seems shitty when it's this expensive.
I totally agree with Badseed on the value. It's not a mouse for everyone and I love the comparison with cars.
If you have the money, buy it. If you don't, wait for the RVMU.
I wish they were just as willing to spend their resources on an updated left handed Death Adder....
Yea but Brian is it better than my G502 lightspeed? No but honestly I don't have a superlight mouse I love my G502, and I've been looking at the G502 Plus... I love Logitech's mousewheel (the fact that you can switch between free spin and notchs) but is it really worth it to get a superlight?
i just got the Asus PG27AQM monitor, do you have any color settings and settings i could turn on to get the best and full experience?
Does it has the classic usb receiver ? For on the go ? Or Bluetooth?
What keyboard are you using, looks great. Thank you.
$300 is simply not worth it.
I’m not a Mouse Guy, but man this mouse is fucking sexy.
Yo can u link me that giant felt desk pad I can't find one that size on amazon
And on topic, never did I think a mouse release could make me this sad :(
Oh boy big fat badseed video. Also stoked for your upcoming switches
DPI being below the mouse makes it eaasier for me in-game, most of the times i misclick the dpi button when using the scroll wheel and mess up the shot.
I have a genuine request for you. Please talk about the cheap scroll wheel encoders in these costly gaming mouse. My viper v2 pro, deathadder v3 pro, g pro superlight, model o wireless and viper mini all are having the exact same issues. Scroll wheel jumping!!! I am tired of seeing these companies talk about 50m clicks, 70m clicks, 90m clicks, optical switches and whatnot and then they proceed to use the shittiest scroll wheel encoders to ruin the entire experience.
I see no mouse reviewer talking even a little bit about that and if this goes on, these companies will never fix this issue. My cooler master mm730 uses optical switches and scroll wheel encoder and is working perfectly whereas my viper v2 pro has a jumping scroll wheel. I don't like the sensor on mm730 and this entire issue boils my blood!
should i get this or the starlight 12 please lmk!!!
I’m gonna wait it out and see how much the price goes up on stock. Otherwise I’m probably going to still pick up the Bruce lee x2 mini.
This is $400 in Australia. What the actual fuck. I just imported a FM last legend for less then that.
No matter how much you do to make. design, paint a gold shovel its still a shovel.....there so much option in the market these days that the commercial brands dont have much advantage at all.....viper mini was a budget king razer totally missed the mark the fact that they put massive holes on the pam area shows they dont know what made og viper mini great shape
What keyboard are you using in this video? Thanks!
As a user of viper mini and viper ultimate, I need 1 more button on the mouse 😞...
probably the only perforated mouse design i like
Ur b roll and music is on point big dawg!
I am indeed pissed that they didn't release the consumer friendly version at the same time. It'll likely take months, ridiculous
im kinda curious but what is the felt mousepad
Looks amazing. Great video Ty!
If they make a viper v2 pro signature, I’m saying good buy to my wallet
I *hate* to admit it, but I would buy that. Not get it sent to me, but actually buy it.
beautiful mouse! but yeah that price is wild compared to a finalmouse lol
I hate that there's so much extra shit nobody actually wants in the box including the box, I would prefer it too just be a normal box like the rest of the mice with just the mouse, cable and dongle in it
bro. I visited one of your early videos... I missed some keyboard destruction or perhaps you could do some PC hammering. you could be like the Rock or Vin Diesel. action
Can I ask what keyboard you are using?? Love your videos man! Keep up the great work 😀
Thanks! Currently rotating between the Wooting 60HE and the Asus ROG Azoth - both S-Tier for different reasons.
I have owned 2 vipers ultimates. And both of them after about 6 months , scolling down every now and then would do a click up before continuing to scroll down. Will not be buying another
Thanks to global supply shortages in past 2 years, all gaming companies discovered how deep the pockets of gamers can get and now we are in extreme areas where almost nothing makes sense price wise. Sad.
As someone 21x10.5 with a relaxed fingertip using the viper v2 pro and never held the mini, would you recommend it for hands my size or hope to god they make a standard size? I guess what I’m asking is; are you gonna main it?
We have very similar hand sizes so...its not gonna pull me away from my MZ1 - and that's based purely on shape. I can even get away with the fact that its a bit narrower than I'd like, but its the lack of rear hump that kills me. My knuckle line on my palm rests right on the rear of the MZ1 w the standard hump and I get a really locked in grip every time and forget about the mouse. I'd have to learn to adjust to this mouse and I'm just not sure if I'm willing to. I will keep it on the desk to see.
@@badseedtech Appreciate you taking the time to give a rando that many details. Another reason you’re the goat. I’m sticking with the v2 pro and will see what they do next. Much appreciated brother!
If fingertipping the v2pro is your jam then you would be compromising for sure in terms of grip/size. Im the same as you. Hoping they do the viper pro v2 signature edition cos im not about to begin forcing a phantom claw😖
I have the same hand size and i use starlight 12 s for fingertip which is even smaller, so i dont think size is a huge issue, U will eventually adjust after a period. But i find the sides on the viper mini flair out too much so they cramp my ring and index in relaxed fingertip, forcing me to curl my fingers a lot. I would personally wait for the finalmouse ULX in spring which is cheaper, also 4k, lighter and comes in 3 sizes, and has more comfortable sides for relaxed ftip imo.
300 Bucks... We've gone too far, burn it all down.
I hope it will be available in Europe.
Do the side buttons wobble as well as the left and right mouse click buttons?
See my short update
Yeah you can't knock someone for wanting to buy a Ferrari at a premium price but if Honda suddenly came out with a $600,000 dollar car that looks like a slightly nicer Civic you'd probably be scratching your head with the rest of us. What they should have done is release it along side a normal version that isn't made out of Magnesium but still has the rest of the upgrades at a normal price. The problem is they went with Magnesium. The notoriously difficult to machine/work with material is probably 80% of why the cost is this high because other than that I'm not seeing anything ground breaking or amazing here. I love my Viper Ultimate and I could easily afford the upgrade but I'm just not going to because there's literally 0 reasons to from where I'm sitting.
Now make a deathadder like this.
Small mice are uncomfortable imo.
is there wobble on the side buttons?
1:30 ehhh ? people will always be upset, but to say releasing a normal version first and then a collectors version is pretty much the same as vice versa... i don't think so. razer could've have mentioned something about not being able to release both at the same time so they have to push this edition out first, but afaik nothing was said sooo it looks more like they are just trying to "scam" ppl.
When's the studio tour dropping?
Tough to say. We're currently re-doing it already lol
Looks fantastic - love the design - but sweet mother mercy that price.
The Cobra sucks it's not even the same shape, I just got one. The back and middle is wider and it has lower height and it's longer. The viper mini just locked into the back of my hand. The Cobra is to wide and just feels like my hand lays over top of it without being locked in. Worst of all the cobra has a plastic grove near the front where ring finger goes and it starts to tear into the skin after a few minutes
Really great review , just Subbed. This mouse is a really dope design. Hopefully I can find one. There going for $ 500 ish.
Trying to find a felt mouse pad this big that he has, anyone know where to buy?
yall spend the same amount on a final mouse but scoff a razer? weird
No, we scoff at both. And this even more expensive than the shit that Finalmouse produces.
