Very cool find. There used to be a restored one that I would see at the Highland NY car cruise back in the early 2000s.

Thanks for watching and subscribing! Been a crazy week. You’re right the w-35 spoiler did become an option later on. But most certainly a standard feature in an early production car like the 01A

Nice Find! I've been courting an owner of another who will not sell as it sinks further into the earth. Consider doing a published grocery list of the rebuild being its an 01A.

Hey Stevo -- Been watching just not commenting so much on any of my Fav channels Lately. GM= Posi trac -- Ford = "Limited Slip" lol & Chrysler = I can't recall off-hand. LOL -- OooHhh Those Yellow Bumpers didn't fly too Well with us Lansing Olds boys back in the day. Took some getting use to & we had to be reminded about THE "Endero" Front ends of the Trans Ams & GTOs. lol It took us a while, but in a year or two We got over it. LOL Nice Find but be careful of That "rabbit hole" it can get pretty deep. lol I'll be following along on this one also. Good Luck with it My Friend.

Mr. Green! Good morning. We've missed you. Yes I needed to choose a term for the rear. Most viewers don't recognize "Anti-Spin" as the proper Olds title. I should have spent a sentence or two on that in this video. You're right.
And yes, Im of the opinion these are much more desirable than they were when new, much like those Mopar Wing Cars.
This is one is a place holder for now. Time to get back with Mr. Jones.
      Thanks as always for watching,

I own a Rallye. Currently undergoing resto here in NC. Uncle bought it new in Durham. Last month I was going through some papers and found the original sales receipt, protect-o-plate, owners manual, etc. This was a very cool and informative video. Proud to be part of a survivor’s group. I have been told there are less than a thousand left. Pretty rare!

Nice, as I have written to you in the past, as a 17 y.o. at my uncles Olds dealership in Salem, Ohio I remember distinctly sitting in one such as this in the showroom. Yeah insurance companies were just starting to come down on anything hi-po. Hence all the power reductions as most were castrated after 1970!!!!! Oldsmobiles FE2 suspension, hd shocks, boxed rear lower control arms and rear sway bar were awesome, these cornered FLAT, not real sure why the other divisions didn't copy that sooner? Like your W-31/F-85 it certainly would have had that shit vinyl interior as well as no carpet, just a vinyl floor covering. These never gained all that much attention back then as even now, a lil reminiscent of the all the 1987 I'm gonna say it, wait, Buick Grand Nationals sitting around at fire sale prices, and by the look of what's going on currently they still haven't learned much of anything. It's still an Olds of a bygone era, and it will mean alot to us of that ilk.....
BTW what was the price.........? By the looks you are certainly qualified to replace that rear window frame at least the front dash looked decent. Great description of all the ins and outs, get closer to the mic.....best of luck....Dr'Olds be smilin'

Hi and Thank You so much for taking the time to watch.
I tend to agree that with only a few color options, that particular model may have sold much better. This brings up a very interesting topic.....
Special models with one paint scheme vs. those with a selection. Might be enough there for another video.
In the meantime, welcome aboard and please help spread the word.

Cool car, but it is missing a ton of parts and there needs to be a ton of work to get it back into running condition. That hood is easily $3-4,000 by itself without counting all the other OAI stuff you will need which can set you back another $7-1,000. It will be a labor of love to get this car back on the road. Hopefully you guys did not pay too much for it.

Good morning Jerry. While I appreciate your interest, I'm not entirely sure where the confusion is from here.
You are correct when you state that the cowl tag reads
      33277. It does.Did I say something else?
This makes the car an F-85 Club Coupe and NOT a Cutlass Sport Coupe (33677)
This car is one of the 1020 F-85 Club Coupes and NOT
one of the 160 Cutlass Sport Coupes(33677) and certainly NOT one of the 2367 Cutlass Holiday Coupes (33687)
What exactly did I misspeak about?
      Thanks again for watching.

    • @theautorefinery

Both are correct. It's my understanding that at the start of production, the W-35 spoiler was standard with the W-45 rpo, but that sometime during the production run, it did in fact become an option. So there are some later Rallye 350's that would not necessarily have the spoiler. Maybe just the very first batch did. This one, 01A certainly did.
Thanks for watching and for paying such close attention.

@@theautorefinery I just started looking all over the internet as I have seen the original W45 dealer order form (order form for the Rallye 350) that states the W35 spoiler is mandatory. I found some posts of people saying that later in the year the spoiler was dropped as mandatory and you could option it, but I failed to find a single post of anyone stating that they have a documented car that came without a spoiler. Only found one photo of a car without a rear spoiler in barn finds website that was for sale on Craigslist in 2023. That is a car in need of restoration and who knows if it just lost the spoiler at some point in its lifetime. If at some point the spoiler did became optional, it seems that very few cars were made without it.
