Ocean Resin Tutorial - layering an ocean on a cheese board. Stunning effects and colors!

- This is a olive wood cheese board, I wanted to show how I do layers on a flat surface. One question I do get about resin is whether or not it can be used on a cutting board. The important thing to know about resin is that it is scratch and UV resistant, not scratch and UV proof. I do not recommend putting resin on a cutting board with the purpose of cutting on the resin. This however is a charming cheese board/tray that would be beautiful on a kitchen island, or coffee table with snacks for guests! hope you enjoy!

do you have a link for the cheese board you used?
@@melodyorr5193 Hi, I cant find one, I got it at Bed Bath and Beyond - the brand is RSVP - I can find it in the store but not on the site
You are really talented.
Beautiful 😍
@@Year-tk9ii mis how Much should i wait after colouring my epoxy to pour it ?
Genuinely appreciate that you left the oops moment with the heat gun nozzle in. So often tutorial videos don't let on that accidents *always* happen and lead beginners and intermediates alike feeling like failures instead of reassuring us that we can fix it.
Lol! I figured everyone would feel right at home when they see those nozzles plunk right into the resin 😂
Am I the only one who stopped breathing when the heat gun attachment fell off?😯
Showed that experience can make the best of the unexpected !
I gasped too!! 😂
It was alien space ship landed in beautiful sea.... How she managed was great 👍 it's not easy make master piece
Me too lol I was hoping to see a video where they talk so they can walk us through it . So it looks like she doing a layer first then waiting for it to cure and do a second layer
NOPE! 😬😬
You are so underrated.. the amount of effort and time you give.. you are a true artist ❤️
I watch all sorts of resin artists, but I always come back to your videos. You are unique, creative and talented
WOW WOW WOW….. I am speechless. This is the best I have ever seen 🙌🏼
How do you know this. You aren't done seeing all the art in the world and upcoming art in your path of life? Genuinely asking. Do you see the future?? Lmao jkjkjk. Just being a booger lol ❤❤😂😅😂❤❤
Some of the most realistic waves I’ve seen! Well, besides the real ones! LOL. Just beautiful! Thank you.
That is just absolutely phenomenal. I love it.
Thank you (from the bottom of my heart) for this tutorial. I have not even purchased one product/tool/item having to do with resin yet. I still trying to get all the questions that are running around my head answered, and your tutorial answered so many. I gasped when the attachment fell but was so glad to see that the whole project was not a total loss. I often wondered how to protect the project when you have to let it sit for 24 hours - it was nice to see what you used to cover it. None of the other videos that others have made have shown this part of the process. Thank you once again.
This is truly dedicated detail and artisanship. Very great work.
Found this by researching realistic water for dioramas. None of the diorama creators I've watched so far, about 15 of them, have incorporated techniques you are using. This has me thinking that even more realistic effects can be achieved in dioramas by doing just that, meld effects from both disciplines. Inspiring work and thank you for sharing.
Just beautiful! Great work!
Absolutely GORGEOUS!!! I really 💕💕💕 your work!!! You are an absolute inspiration to me. Thank you so much !!!
This is a great video from the start. I'm going to try this. ❤

Wow this was really informative. I kept thinking you were going to ruin the foam of the ocean But it just kept getting better and better. Such attention to detail. I’m a little bit too impatient I think. Beautiful piece of work

This was so great to watch, even as you kept calm and carried on. I learned from watching your video. Thank you so much for sharing it with the world. Fantastic work and Beautiful piece! I’ve liked & subbed.👌🏾✌🏾✨
Awesome...it really looks real 7:20am
So pretty! That would look so awesome done in a plain white porcelain sink! I’m just not that brave to try!
Enjoyed this technique very much and will give it a try! Thank you!
Have a question though, why didn’t you put clear down the rest of the front of the wood?
This is absolutely GORGEOUS. Can't wait to try this!
I stopped breathing when he dropped that! I was like ohhh are you gonna pik that up or what?
Plus! You would even say it glows. ❤️🥰
Very beautiful welldone 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽❤️
Amazing
I wanna try this myself.
Thank you!
So cool
Om triple G
This looks amazing. Thank u so so much. I’m going to try it on some boards I am going to be making for my daughters wedding. This June 10, 2023. I want people to say wow especially since she’s our only daughter & the braids maids & grooms men & both my daughter & son in law to be are military. They are Air Force & our youngest is a Marine.
Excellent
Well done girl
All those layers make such a difference. I love it! And like how you manipulated the colours in the resin layers, more like paint. :)
Belíssimo efeito das ondas!
the tips and nozzles link work and direct to you
Mashallah very innovative
Wow!
Perfect👌👌👌👌
😂 I felt the pain when you dropped the equipment piece on the resin 😂
Great thanks
I love the cheese board I got from your store!
I always think I’m going to save one for myself, then sell it to make more resin 😂
@@ResinAsYouWish I think it would be lovely to have something similar on a larger board because it presents so nicely for a charcuterie board. This size
is great for two people though.
@@AngelaCreason I agree, I need to find one
Nice
Beautiful piece! I Really enjoyed the bioluminescence aspect, as this is something I have often seen along the coast here in Norway :)
Majestic 🔥💔
Would you possibly consider doing a galaxy or space themed tray tutorial? I am trying to make one using a tray I got from the store for my cousin’s room as a Christmas gift, and I have hit quite a few snags. Granted, I’m incredibly new to resin art and am very much still in the learning phase. However, I would love to see your approach and techniques when it comes to working within a tray like that. It would be so helpful. Thank you for all you do!
Also, this is a great video with a beautiful turnout! Very very far out of my league at this point, yet I can’t help but to watch.
Beautiful work I agree with all the other comments. I wonder is the board usable as a cutting board or more of a decorative piece?😮
Excellent work ,the piece looks beautiful , could you please tell me what is that plastic translucent piece that's on the back side of the wood ?
Nice tutorial - One question. I noticed that the epoxy resin that you start pouring seems a little thicker in consistency than what I got after mixing. Do you wait some time after mixing before starting to use it? If so how long? Thanks in advance.
Meant to ask...how long did you leave the board covered after applying the 1st layer of resin & white for the waves before moving onto the next application?
Hola!! Me ha gustado mucho el trabajo y el tutorial, me podrías decir qué tipo de resina has utilizado? Es bastante espesa y la has mezclado con acrílicos normales, no? Gracias, espero tu respuesta.
What did you mix your acrylic paint with. It turned out gorgeous!!
The heat guns what do you recommend
Hi, the art is amazing. Just wanted to know if you've used Resin clear and Hardener both with pigments as well as clear.
Where do you purchase these wood piece from?
I have new cutting boards to practice on. Do I need to sand them first?
Such a beautiful outcome and the patience! One question. Do u use epoxy at all? Did i miss it on the final topcoat only?
This is gorgeous! Thank you for the tutorial. I am really struggling with ocean scenes because my resin seems to liquidy and is bleeding together. What do you do to make your resin so thick? Do you let it sit out awhile before pouring? Also how do you add alcohol ink to your white resin for the cells?
Hi, I mix castin craft white to clear resin with about 4-6 drops of alcohol ink. I don’t wait for the resin to thicken - just about every resin I have tried has it’s own thickness. I’ve had runny thin all the way to hard-to-stir thick. It definitely makes cells and waves easier if the resin viscosity is not too thin.
Is there a way to have the top completely smooth?
What type of epoxy resin did you use for the final glossy coat....your very skilled ans talented in your craft btw
