I love you guys and I hope you guys are happy🥰
Omg thanks for the code, and getting to interview Japanese snack makers sound so cool (I hope you had fun that day)
6:30 or if you really want to make the temperature seem hotter. You could go with Kelvin.
120°C + 273.15 = 393.15°K ≈ 393°K
I just ordered my box! So excited to taste all the goodies 😊. I’m in Utah, USA and for whatever reason special code HANAMI did NOT work. I didn’t mind…just reporting
So cool😎~ More Shokunin making traditional snacks episodes, please, Jun, thanks❣️
Mad respect for that woman at the beginning for taking care of the Sakura trees for the ages.
She's a real hero.
and her little chat was so wholesome! whenever i walk my cat the older ladies in my neighborhood talk about their plants and bird feeders, something about those connections feel extra special
genuinely, i hope someone's able to keep up the work when she's not able to anymore
very bittersweet
Damn right. She turned her joy into a plant. THATS THE REAL POWER OF LOVE
Seriously, she's just how I want to be when I grow up
And that was a lovely intro for the video ❤❤
The interaction with that lovely woman in the beginning was everything.
Everything has a story.
Totally it made me smile 😊
I was half expecting Jun to bring her some candy on his way home, she was so sweet!
Poki just loafing on the table while Jun reviews the snacks gives me life
Hahaha thank you for watching! 🙂
Poki won’t poki his nose in that hot water again. 😂
Poki is the best kitty.
That lady who spent so many years of her life taking care of those Sakura trees reminds me so much of my memere (grandma). She took care of a whole orchard of apple trees on her property until my pepere retired from farming. It was breathtaking to see the pretty white and pink blossoms. Thanks for including her in this video Jun, now people know what a wonderful lady she is ❤
I also call my grandfather Pepère!! I’ve never met anyone else who does! 😊 If you don’t mind me asking, where are you from? My family is from Louisiana in the US, and my grandfather comes from a French family.
@@gelliebellie832 How do you pronounce those titles? They look like they sound very pretty
@@jessiehoak2040 "Mémère" is prononced with the "me" of "medicinal" and "mère" is like a mare (the horse) ☺️ "Pépère" is pronounced the same, with the beginning "pé" like in "pepperoni" instead!
@@FinnickH exactly!!
@@gelliebellie832 I'm in the western part of Canada. My mom's side of the family is Francophone but speaks "Franglish" more than French. I'm pleased to hear that it isn't as uncommon as I thought it was!
“I don’t look cool.” 😅I enjoyed his humor and the pride he takes in his work. ❤
Super cute and furry cat :)
It's so interesting learning about the stories of the different people you've met.
go outside and it will be not as interesting ❤🎉
Yes! More please. ❤🎉
@@Vodkanir wow you seem fun
@@applejuicenerd thanks 😊
@@Vodkanir wait talking to a 0815 9 to 5 guy/girl is not interesting, well no shit, thx sherlock.
The cats really want Jun to take a tour of all the cat food and cat treats factories so they can get big bags of free stuff! 😁
Now that's an interesting & novel idea! What do you think Jun? Possability in the future?
Yes, please! Can someone sponsor him for this worthwhile endeavor?
What would it take for Sakuraco to make a separate snack box specifically for cats?
LoL!!
This is some of the best sponsored content on RUclips. I love the slice of life bits included, like the lovely woman caring for the trees. This tour of Japanese traditional snack makers is a great fit for Jun's channel. I hope Sakuraco will continue this series.
I have a premium account and still get some sponsored content. This channel is the only channel I never skip ahead. I look forward to watching them open up the box and enjoy the delicious contents!
this was sponsored?/s
Listening to Sawahara talk about his dad and how he started it all made me tear up. It was nothing profound but just looking at his eyes I could sense the love he had for his father. If I ever have kids one day, I hope I bring them the same sense of love.
For people all around the world to have the opportunity to learn about, appreciate, and financially support these specialized Japanese confections created by these amazingly passionate craftsmen is truly amazing. Thank you Chikamoto-san, for founding Sakuraco
Thank you for including your interaction with the lovely woman while you were waiting for your train. It was very precious to hear her speak of the Sakura Trees with so much care and love
the sound of the candy falling into the tray after being shaped is so satisfying. Makes me miss that show Unwrapped, where they would show how a bunch of candy is made. I would watch it with my mom growing up.
OMG same here! I loooooved Unwrapped 🥲. there was a revival but it wasn’t as good.
My favorite part of this video is Jun pleading with Poki not to eat his finger while tasting, and Poki just going " :))) CHOMPPPP!!!!!!! :))"
Jun got his revenge with the hot water.
Jun must be every old lady and old guy's dream for somebody to talk to. They have so much experience and wisdom to share if they can only get somebody young to take the time to talk to them.
We should all take a page and show more respect to the elderly and just listen to them. Many of them deserve to have their wisdom and stories heard
18:56 You warned Poki, but he wouldn't listen! 😉 Thank you SO MUCH for showing us all the work (and MAGIC) to make candy in Kyoto, Jun. It's wonderful to see your sponsor, Sakuraco, help you achieve some of your dreams! I hope Rachel and you, along with the kitties and everyone watching here, have a GREAT week!

Thank you and the factory workers for the peek into this craft. ❤ I loved getting to hear the history and see the workers show off their skills.
I love the conversation with the old lady at the beginning ❤
I had so many nice chats with old people, when I was staying in Japan.
Our sakura trees are still blooming, but soon the pretty blossoms will all be gone. 🌸
Greetings from Germany and lots of luck to you, Rachel and all the cats 🐈
Same here in UK , the last sakura blossoms are on the trees but the leaves are starting to overpower the few blossoms left, summer is on its way..soon we will have poppies in the fields.
@@randomsurfer3963 All the seasons have something special and unique about them.
I'm waiting for my beloved strawberries 🍓
In Japan the food and treats are often season themed. I loved this so much.
For real, that old lady had some gusto in her voice. I think it made her happy that somebody was admiring her sakura trees after she cared for them for so long.
"Guys I'm in a ghibli movie" what a dreams come true moment even only watching it! Thanks Jun and Hajime-san!
Japan is such a beautiful country, seeing you explore and vibe in harmony warms my heart
Everywhere i go. I see his face
Bro watches every youtuber
Your everywhere now

@@silent7637 right? How many others here also watch Darknet Diaries and Lockpicking Lawyer? Wondering what the algorithm is doing with us.
i don't know why, but the segment at the start, when you were talking to the elder lady, made me cry T_T she's so precious. i hope she's able to live a few more years and have more chances to enjoy the beauty of the sakura trees she cared for
Watching this now and yeah, I can’t move past that part! I hope she is wrong and has many more years to enjoy her beautiful trees 😭
Thank you for showing us an inside look into traditional confectionary making in Japan; it’s amazing and wonderful to see how lovingly-made confections can still live on today even with the help of modern technology, but still retain the original feel. I hope you get to continue on to show up more candy and snack makers, I highly enjoy it and it’s heartwarming to see people take such pride in their work. I hope sakuraco sees these comments and is able to continue to assist in showcasing more small businesses throughout japan❤
I'm enjoying this series, Jun! Such wonderful craftspeople, dedicated to their art. Japan is definitely on my bucketlist.
Aw, hope Poki didn't get burnt from the water 😢
And that scenic trip at the end... so lovely
The lady at the beginning is so sweet, and giving a little backstory to some beautiful Sakura trees and keeping them to let them flourish is heartwarming, and keeping a small part of the beauty of Japan alive.
Also, can we all just take a moment and genuinely appreciate how much hardworking and dedicated they are into their products from start to finish, even in light of modernization of tools and equipment being used to speed up the process, but yet the quality is still phenomenal. The attention to detail about the quality of their work and products is inspiring. I hope they continue to get lots of sales and their business stays flourishing
Jun is just giggling like a child throughout the entire video, so adorable haha
The little conversations had me hooked, it made me feel like I was in on the experience too.
Hajime-san is so good-natured! I had a huge smile on my face whenever he was being filmed. I laughed when he said nothing happens if the dough explodes, he just doesn't look cool 😂
Poor Poki... I hope his nose is all right!
i must say that i m really loving this series, meeting the snack makers and seeing their workplaces, the interviews, really a good job jun, hope that this series can keep going.
poki is always on the table like the previous video one, he's SOOO CUTEEE!
The conversation with the sakura train station lady was so cute! I hope she gets to enjoy her trees for a very long time.
Wow, its always so interesting to see how the things we eat from day-to-day life is made. And the workers are crazy talented. I'm seriously craving some Japanese candy now! Thanks for sharing this sweet experience with us Jun.
Hajime san is so humble. Loved watching this!
that interaction with the lady at the start was just beautiful.
I love this series so much. It's like a Japanese version of How Do They Do It? but it's calming and historically informative. And it has CATS~
Aw poor Poki, I hope he didn't burn his nose. Looks like he came back for another taste, so I guess he was okay. I really want to try that sakura candy.
I feel like we have a lot to learn from one another. In the states, you can make someone’s day simply by starting a conversation. I know Japanese culture is really reserved, but even so much as saying hello can really make someone feel acknowledged. We are human! No one deserves to be outcasted :(
東京に住んでいると見ない工場や景色ばかりで癒されました。まだこのような会社が残っているのは素敵ですね。
Hi Jun, thank you for taking us with you on these trips! Your patient and open attitude to learning and documenting the experiences of these family businesses makes me tear! It reminds me of my dad and the stories he’s told me about starting and growing his business. Hearing these 2nd generation owners share the founding stories is so heartwarming. Really hope you can keep sharing more of these stories and keeping their memories alive! love your work!
0:37 Thank you for caring for those trees! May they be taken care of forever. 😊❤
Jun, thank you so much for this tour. 👏
How fun watching you from start to finish on your journey and as always, your cats are adorable! 🥰❤️
Yes, I hope she knows her trees she saved bless so many year after year.
Thank you Jun for taking us along with you to the Sawahara Factory. I love seeing the traditional ways that the candies and snacks are made. I am so impressed by the kindness and politeness of the people. I hope you will make more videos like this, I really enjoy watching them. 🥰🥰🥰
Honestly just listening to the conversations is so nice and chill. Such genuine, good people, lovely to see.
Yeah so good, keeping the mandates and forcing others to do so too. Very nice people. And don't tell me its needed to keep them.
I have been a Sakuraco subscriber for the past 3 years and counting & look forward to every new box each month! Each snack and tea is chosen with the utmost care and from skilled and reputable artisans across Japan. For anyone considering a Japanese snack subscription box,I definitely would recommend this one!
I bet it is so good! I could not afford $50 CAD a month for candy tho 😭
I have thought about subscribing to sakuraco especially after this series. But i don't like seafood or green tea and i can only imagine those are prominent flavors? Is there a lot of either in the boxes in general?
EVERYONE IS SO POLITE AND HUMBLE. it's so refreshing watching videos from Japan, and of course seeing uploads from Jun on a semi-annual basis lol. Thanks for the amazing vid
This is literally puts "kid in a candy store" in a new light 🍭🍬💟🎉
It's so cool how long they can work with the candy, I can definitely see why people would love to watch the demonstrations and how it changes colour etc
Something about hearing their stories hit me with a weird sense of nostalgia/warmth, I was tearing up and I'm not exactly sure why haha. Such a nice treat to see the hard work and dedication of local workers, the journey and history is so engaging and fascinating. The treats all looked so good, and that tea is beautiful, I'm craving some hot tea and cake now haha. Beautiful place, it was like out of a fantasy dream! Blown away, truly!
Today is a good day when Jun uploads
Oof my english...
This makes me drooling... I wanna eat them man, i have sweet tooth...
Also the good ol' lady is such a kind hearted lady! Taking care of those sakura trees instead of letting them getting cut down. Hope she's doing okay
Junさんの動画楽しみにしてました!!
サムネ超絶可愛いすぎませんか😇
I've lived in Japan for a very long time and have seen more than my fair share of crazy inside cultural goings-on but nothing like this.
Thanks for the tour. :)
Poki nipping at your finger to get even for the hot water on his nose! Haku looking through the bag to see what you brought back from Kyoto for him as a gift. Pichi is probably napping. Where is Nagi? Taking a walk on the exercise wheel? Very interesting to see the candy making process. Also the natural beuty that is Japan and Kyoto. Thanks for the tour Jun!
I recognize a lot of this machinery and method from watching the American candy maker Lofty Pursuits! It's cool seeing that sugar behaves and is treated the same here too.
Lofty pursuits is one of my favorite channels!! Love of candy is universal 😂
Lofty Pursuits is great! Another is Hercules Candy...also American. Hercules still does much of their candy making by hand so you get a view of the skills required 100 yrs ago when they first opened.
I noticed the same thing! The candy cooling table, how the flavorings and colors were folded in after the sugar mixture was poured on. The candy pulling machine. Very similar approach to creating the final product.
I have asked for a Sakuraco subscription for my birthday this year. Seeing how much effort, dedication and history is in these artisan sweets and snacks is so impressive. I hope their businesses will always be successful. I am really enjoying this video series.
投稿お疲れ様です!
いつもなんとも言えない世界観を見せて頂きありがとうございます!
Such a beautiful video. The woman taking care of the trees is amazing 🩷 Im so happy you spent time talking to her. I was also so moved by the candy makers story and how making candy has impacted his family. I feel so at peace watching every part of this video and others. One day i hope to visit Japan til then ill be getting a sakura box too. 🌸
The sakura candy looks so silky and pink. Sooooo pretty!
Some people have a pot filler for water, they have one for starch syrup!!😂😂😂
This was so wonderful! It's lovely to see local shops like this, especially when it's family-owned and clearly puts in the work and craftsmanship to make something great. I thought it was really cool that some of the candies weren't super sweet so you could taste the original flavor ❤
Your videos are always so calming and relaxing with the beautiful sakura and scenery and the lovely background music! I watch you all the time when I have a bad day. I wasn't expecting a continuation to the "day in a Japanese senbei factory" video a month ago but I was so happy to get the notification!
Your videos and your voice are so peaceful.
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful traditional candy maker! 🌸❤🌸
Your videos are the most relaxing and calming things to ever exist 🥹
Everything is such high quality.
I love how Jun is like a literal kid in a candy factory during this, so excited! The candy looks amazing, and I've had Sakuraco boxes before and they are really delightful!
Your country and people seem so much kinder and respectful towards one another. I envy it! :)
Waw that village is so beautiful! You can really tell the people living there take the time to look after their homes and surroundings. Really lovely!
I was shocked that you got to meet the CEO. So cool!!
Getting to go and see the processes of all those snacks looked so fun to learn about, and to talk to the makers
I wish I grew up there also . Beautiful and Peaceful.
You can hear how excited Jun is throughout, and I love that for him. Everything is so informative but relaxing too, it’s absolutely wonderful!
Fascinating to hear the short interview with Hajime-san, being not only a confectionery maker but a teacher as well, and the behind the scenes!
The interaction between the lovely lady in the beginning of the video warms my heart. The way she said there's not much time left for her :'( Thanks to her neverending work, people can create moments with the sakura trees. ❤
How magical to meet that lady and see those trees she's cared for, for so long.
haku is giving a real 😼in that thumbnail
besides that, thank you for sharing all of your experience with candy making in japan! I find it so interesting and you being able to preserve that beauty is amazing
Hi Jun! I agree everyone said about, the ladyat the beginnigs, the employees and theirs craftmenship, BUT, the "Gibli" scene at the end, the nature, the colors, the Magnificient silver/white tree and the song of that bird....WOW!!!!!!!!! I was just missing feeling the warm Spring sun, and sniffing the subtile flowers perfume of the flowers, the grass and the tree, and It would has been 100%🥰🥰🥰 Thank you so much Jun, this was an exceptionnal video.
Every one of Jun's videos is like a magical journey and the last part was extra special.
Ancient Japanese Tradtition always contemplating the respect for the environment, the human interactions... even for candy, that is a luxury we can have with measure, to create emotional memories since kids to adults. Hooray! to conscious businesses, the love care and beauty they put into them💕
The obaa-chan was super cute. Bless her for taking care of the trees!!
I really love seeing the behind the scenes of all these craftsmen. That story of the lady who took care of the Sakura really touched me as well. When you put your heart into doing something it really makes it meaningful.
May the lady at the beginning have several more years with her beloved Sakura trees 🥺🥺🥺❤ great video as always Jun!
The first lady who taken care of her tree is really sweet, she had a lot of patience and passion into her Sakura trees
Thank you for showing us these places we'd never know of otherwise! I actually went to the seki seika store during my visit to kyoto in april and bought lots of snacks. The lady working even gifted me some senbei when I showed her your video. I will keep this place in mind for future visits. ♥
19:17 so glad that Poki came back and he wasn't hurt badly by the hot water. Still, you should've moved him away from the teapot😢
This is probably my favourite Vlog + short documentary of the year. First the lovely conversation with the lady about the Sakura trees and then the candy making, thank you for sharing this gem with us! And I love how your cat nibbles on your thumb during the candy presentation xD
I am overwhelmed by the politeness of the Japanese people.🥺🥺🥺
i’ve watched you since i was a little kid, im so glad that you’re still making content ❤️❤️
aaaaa i love this series SO MUCH. I love getting to know these incredible craftspeople, and their homes, and all the people who take care of their neighborhoods so lovingly. Sakura-san was so kind looking after the trees so long and sharing her story, and the Sawaharas are just amazing. It was lovely to meet the CEO of Sakuraco too! I just wish I could afford a subscription...
I work in the confectionery business in my country (a third world asian country). I'm used to seeing these big noisy cookers, shapers, rope sizers, and die cutters and it's so interesting seeing how in Japan which has the reputation of being at the bleeding edge of technology, is still able to mix in traditional methods of candy making in their manufacturing processes ❤
I really enjoy watching the content you put here. It is a factory that It's very heart-warming. The value of doing it with care Makes dessert a million times more delicious.
This was so lovely, I can relate how you appreciate nature around you. I hope someone at the train station will continue to take care of those beautiful trees and nature. Please if you speak with Mr. Hajime, tell him to be proud, he's a wonderful candy master and I hope many students learn from him. I wish more crafts were preserved here in America. Thank you for the content.
i love how jun always shows us sides that we don't really get to see, i really appreciate all of his videos and watching him interact with all different kinds of people with such an open mind and positivity ☺☺
their logo is so cute!!!
I just love these videos! I couldn't stop grinning watching the candy factory and interviews. Even the chat with the lady who takes care of the Sakura trees next to the train platform was so delightful!
Your videos are cleaning my skin, lower my blood pressure and relaxing my thoughts eventhrough I´m not into sweets💚
Woow its so beautiful there! And visiting with the founder of sakurako too!
I really love stuff like this, it's really humanizing to see products made with care.
Especially in a world where a lot of people tend to take where stuff comes from or how it's made for granted.
Even more so when we see the personal history side of things, as someone who grew up with a father
that worked mostly factory and other trade jobs most people choose to not think about, it's always touching.
Everyone is so humble yet carefully proud of their tradition. Very lovely
I wish i could speak better japanese and have a cup of tea with that lady in the start. she seemed so lovely
Such sweet cats and such beautiful candy !!!!
I think you got it the other way around...
