I love watching these videos. I lived in Japan years ago, and one of the big things I miss (besides my friends) is the attention to detail and genuine pride craftsmen in Japan had for their work. From small shops to people working sales for major corporations, there was a real sense of responsibility and desire to do their best. That work ethic just does not seem to be as ubiquitous here in the US :( I'm so glad you're sharing products like this to the wider world, so that people can support these Japanese businesses and help keep traditions alive.
@@TheUltimate63 I miss my grandma. She passed away just shy of 80+ years old due to stomach cancer. It is nice to know yours still healthy enough to do so. On the other hand, I am in my 40s but feeling twice my age (due to stress) ^_^;..
Oh my, I can’t believe how much manual work is involved in these. It’s so impressive. And to have a 92 year old chairman still working the floor with his employees is so inspirational.
The chairman is so nice, when he said "ask me anything" it warms my heart 😢 Also, if the company is founded in 1959, he's been running the company for 64 years! That's awesome!
I officially love all the Midori family members we've "met" in this video, including the uncle with his hilarious "this is magic" line xD The grandfather seems like such a fun gentleman to chill with, Midori Daisuke also sounds like he takes after his grandfather's lighthearted personality as well.... just, such lovely people! Thank you for introducing them and their amazing business!
I'm baffled by the fact that a 20 minutes long video by Jun always feels like only 5! Time really does fly when you watch quality content like this! 🤩🤩🤩
That kitty going for and chomping on the grain was hillarious! Those jellies look so good. I love gummi bears, but they are very stiff. The softer candy with agar looks yummi. Only they are so expensive!
Poki is an extremely ravenous boy, so I am not surprised he chomped on that rice. That beast will eat ANYTHING edible; during the natto beans episode, he absolutely INHALED the bean he was offered despite natto being quite smelly. Love that rowdy little guy.
These videos are so heart achingly wholesome. Thank you Sakuraco for blessing Jun(And Rachel) with this chance. Thank you Midori Seika for letting Jun bring us along! It brings me such joy and peace watching these in a world so consumed with unrest and focus upon the bad. We need a bit more of Jun-shine and people like this to make the world a bit brighter for everyone. :) Stay safe everyone, take care of yourself and have a wonderful day. Love from Sweden.
Jun & Rachel are very inspiring to me. I've been watching for years through hardships in my life and they always give me hope of good things being possible.
Rachel and Jun will forever be my comfort zone, there's something so incredible in the way they love and live life that i get emotional comfort from it
Me too, watching their vidéos feels like a warm fluffy duvet, or petting a cat. And they care so much for their kitties too and I love that. Watching their vids always relieves my anxiety 🩵
I love how much Jun focuses on the people as well as the beautiful sweets that they are making. The respect he feels, as well as the joy he has in being there, make these videos so special. I want to see more! 🥰
I love all the cute bunny candies, and the little ghosts are cute too! I have to say how much I respect a 92 year old man still working just as hard as when he was a young man! I pray that I find a job that I love as much, that even when I am older, I wouldn’t mind putting in the same hours. What an amazing place to work! Thank you for sharing the day-to-day inside such an amazing company that is truly family first.
This is a cool way to work with a brand... You have an influencer not only show the product but, have them show where the products comes from and who makes it... I can't wait to see more of these...
I loved seeing the clip of you trying your hand at pressing/stamping! It really puts into perspective how talented the shokunin are and how many hours in practice it takes before you're able to create an acceptable product. Thanks for another cool look into traditional Japanese candy making! I can see why the kohaku candy are trending right now but I personally love the look of the original candy style (9:40); they are so colorful!
I've tasted Japanese gummy before and it is soft, chewy and very good. Each pieces is beautiful and artistic. The package is beautifully wrapped as well. Btw your cat never looked so good.
OMG! The cicadas are so real in the intro of this video. Summer video check! Thank you for sharing the candy-making process. I'm really enjoying this video so far, and the previous senbei making adventure was wonderful.
A jun video is like a one-two combo of pure wholesomeness and candy that looks so good that it makes your mouth water. Man I wanna try everything there now
If I were to see these I would think they were machine made. To see the care, thought, and love they put into the design along with the hard work, is amazing. It makes me want to go and see the store just to marvel at the details they put into their candy. Thank you so much for sharing!
Absolutely stunning. Such beautiful workmanship. The 92 year old chairman is as sweet as his confectionery. Those combination crunchy and soft lollies had me drooling.
Jelly candy are my favorite type of candy just cuz it's texture and taste. I would love to eat these just for it's cuteness(the thumbnail with cute designs and cats brought me here immediately)
Woaaah, that is amazing. In UK (where I live) companies usually rush so much and they don't really care how it looks as long as it look like a standard (low standard), but in Japan, they take their time to make it as perfect as possible. It's amazing. I have such a high respect for Japan.
@@hanna_noYeah. Japan is known for expensive products, but they tend to also be of very high quality and they also compensate workers well. The CEOs tend to have a great sense of responsibility to their company, clients, and employees as well (some have taken pay cuts during hard time for example). Of course there's outliers and the products do need to be made in Japan, not just by a Japanese company, but this is a reputation Japanese products and companies have.
I'm also from the UK and I think this is an unfair comment. There are plenty of equally high end food and other goods in the uk. You can't compare mass produced goods to traditional craftsmanship. There are plenty of amazing British goods if you only care to look.
@@DavidCruickshank That's the issue though, you have to look. In Japan it's as common as dirt. Not saying there aren't traditions and craftsmanship in the U.K or anywhere else than Japan, and those that do it deserve every bit of accolade and prayers of success. But via mass production and industries cheaping out (for many different reasons, all avoidable IMO), it's becoming the exception, not the norm.
I love this series. Jun is happy for the chance to see how the treats are made, and the craftspeople seem happy to share their work. And we are happy to watch!
Ahh, I want to eat them all. Jelly candies are my favorites and these look so delicious and beautiful! You can really see the craftsmanship that goes into everything you've filmed so far. It's so wonderful to be able to see it and learn about these traditional sweets.
this is probably teh best example of how to do sponsored videos.... I always get excited for these. its so cool to see the behind the scenes stuff that goes into making different food and snacks!!! everyone seems to be working hard and still having a good time. the jellies are super pretty also
I love how proud they are of their work. I love how they do it, with such care and mastery. And I love how excited was Jun to get to see all the process behind the making of these candies, it was contagious! I'm looking forward for this to be a series! What a gorgeous work, both from the candy makers and from Jun that brought their story to us. ❤
I love how the grandson looks at his grandfather with so much love, respect and admiration. Such an amazing company that you can feel loves what they do and translates into the final product ❤
Woah, I kept seeing Sakuraco ads from so many different RUclipsrs. I am so amazed that it gets this deep and wholesome. I can really sense Jun's sincerity and respect towards the candy making process and the people involved. ありがとう♡
What a wonderful video! I had a blast watching. I could tell even through watching that the people there are very passionate and work very hard. Those rock sugar candies look beautiful, I was so surprised they were soft jellies! I can see why they're so popular right now. Thank you for sharing!!
As someone in the food industry, I love this stuff. I've only really worked for large plants and companies, so to see the craftsmanship in these smaller places is great. Everywhere I've been has everything mechanized to the point where they just have a few people to make sure nothing breaks down and it's all produced in batches on the hundreds or thousands of pounds at a time, so seeing this is very refreshing.
Another absolutely wonderful video, Jun (and Rachel!). We appreciate the hard work you put in to filming and editing these gorgeous videos. I always love the gentle vibe they have. This series makes me so happy! Your ooooold shokunin videos were dear to my heart, so I'm glad we're getting these amazing tours of these businesses. The quality is fantastic. It is wonderful to see these people so well cared for in their working environment, especially nowadays. Also! Today I learned that 3pm is snack time! 3pm has a kind of negative association for me, but I think tomorrow, when I see it's 3pm, I'll have a little chocolate and a break. :) Thank you guys again for the wonderful video. I look forward to them every month :)
As someone who usually hates anything jelly like I was amazed to find out I actually like this type of confectionary in a sakura co box a couple months ago. Having them explain the difference in this video makes so much sense now! I wish they made stuff like this here in Canada!
It's incredible how polite and nice Japanese people are. I feel the kindness and lightness of your soul. I watch your video and smile. Thank you for these warm emotions ✨
the amount of work and attention to detail is amazing! makes me so happy to see traditional snack is still alive. also i love agar jellies!! definitely want to try these ❤️
What a lovely and amazing video!! The 92yo manager reminds me so much of my Opa, who was still playing the piano accordion at 92 and helping out with reading groups at my old school. He sadly passed away (peacefully) this year- (At age 97) and its so lovely to see how his legacy plays out. Wishing great endurance and peace to this 92 year old in his great career
ive been watching your video's for years and i truly appreciate how your channel has grown and what you do with your audience. your videos are so well made and showcase your love and gentle care for the world, i am constantly inspired by you and rachel :)
It’s always so fun and so touching to see people put their heart and soul into everyday food making. And I always imagine doing this kind of job must be so peaceful
i'm so happy to hear they use 100% plant based ingredients for their sweets. as a vegan i will definitely taste some of them myself if i ever make it to japan someday! thank you so much for this insight 🫶
How amazing! I love the attention to detail and creativity that goes into the designs. Creating intricate sweets is such a labor of love - I am currently learning to make traditional Chinese moon cakes myself. People always ask why I don't just buy things cheaply from the store. But understanding how something is made and connecting to that process, whether by doing it yourself or going behind the scenes like this, offers an unparalleled appreciation for things it's otherwise so easy to take for granted. Thanks for sharing Jun!
I’ve been watching another channel of late that is all about what you describe - making beautiful things and appreciating the skills & hard work of others. In case you’re interested, that creator, appreciator, & lover of beauty in question is Rajiv Surendra, formerly making vids for HGTV and now under his own name. Different kinds of creations and aesthetic to Rachel & Jun, similarly uplifting & life-affirming vibe.
OMG seeing those gummies get made looks soooo satisfying! I've been doing sakuraco for like 3 months and I'm super excited for this month's box, the little bunny dish looks so cute! It's become a fun little thing I share with my sister (who gets het own box) and my best friends whenever I get a new box 😊
This is one of the only times I've actually enjoyed eating ASMR with that Kohaku sugar. I have a lot of frustrating food allergies, but this is one of the few times I've been really interested in the snack boxes despite it. Also watching Poki go nuts for that rice was hilarious.
I love that companies like Sakuraco support businesses like these, where they craft things by hand and put so much effort and care into making every piece
I love learning more about traditional crafts like this, and I'm so grateful to you for making it accessible to those of us elsewhere in the world! I look forward to supporting businesses like Midori Seika :)
Thank you so much for making this! I love candies like that, and it's very impressive to see such works of art. I will thank Midori and Sakuraco by buying a sub!
Oh, I listen to a lot of ASMR and some channels I've followed actively have made videos with this candy theme. It was surprising to hear about it here being such a big driver of sales. :D
Your videos on the making process is the only reason I get the boxes now. I love learning about the making process and the companies. I hope you're able to keep doing these videos! Thank you for inedible videos.
I am so enthralled by the efforts and craftsmanship that goes into making the candy! Really makes me inspired to go out and explore craftsman makers in my own community.
WOW, I had no idea kohakutou were all the way from the Edo period! Wild to think how such an old candy is so popular online now hahaha. This was so nice to see it being made
The artistry and craftsmanship is legendary! What an impressive tour. I’m American and this vid reminded me of a Mister Rogers’ factory tour. For me that’s as big a compliment I can give! 💜
They all seemed so relaxed, laughing and joking even while making the same exact motions they've probably made millions of times. Shows what a difference atmosphere can make.
I love how excited and happy the shokunin are to show you around their workplaces and show you how they do their crafts. They all seem so lovely and kind! And it's always so fun to see!!!!
This was so cool! I'm also really glad you guys get sponsored by Sakuraco, because I never would have found out about them otherwise. It's such a nice thing to gift to people and it's delicious for myself as well.
I really love this series! Thanks to you and Sakuraco, giving us an insight of how these candy are made. Honestly made me much more appreciative of the efforts put into creating such tasty looking and pretty candies.
The amount of love, care, attention, and pride in their work truly blows me away. Even the packaging presentation is exquisite! It feels like this level of true care in your product is rare these days. Hand crafted items are so full of love, it makes me sad that consumerism makes people undervalue handcrafted things and is driving these skills into extinction. Jun is truly like a kid in a sweet shop in these videos! You can feel his joy and awe through the screen, even without seeing his face! Thank you for another amazing video Jun! I hope you get the opportunity to visit many more artisan factories! I adored the full moon sweets, the tiny bunnies were adorable. It's always been 'the man in the moon' growing up in the UK but I personally see a dragon 😅 most of the time. But sometimes I see a hare.
I love seeing these videos because a lot of things now a days are made by machines, its very refreshing to see someone taking time and caring for the way the product looks ❤❤
Those candies are beautiful works of art and they look really delicious too. And I agree with what you said in the video, I'd feel bad about eating them too. I love how much care they put into their work. You can tell they really take pride in what they do there.
I'm so happy I continued my Sakuraco sub!! These were delicious, and made even better by being able to know all the hard work and dedication behind making them.
This was so beautiful and inspiring! Thank you so much for the laughs at the end with the side by side cat candies 😅 I pray their candy shop continues to thrive ❤
Absolutely love this whole series of manufacturing snacks. Thank you so much for sharing. Stunned by the craftsmanship and how much work is involved into each and every product. It gives me hope for the future for things that are still handmade. Happy to know that people still do it and many appreciate it, thank you for educating us 😊
I really, truly love these videos you've been able to make in collaboration with SakuraCo. Candy making is something I really adore and I love getting to see how the methods vary between cultures and companies.
This is so amazing to see. My grandmother is 92 now and a seamstress master of her craft, seeing these passionate elderly people drives me to hone my own craft.
I really love this series of videos, Jun! All of them, from the osenbei to these jellies, have been super cool. Thanks for doing these partnership vids! :D
Thank you once again, Jun. Your videos are so beautifully done and very interesting. The behind-the-scenes look at these artisans is so educational, not to mention mouthwatering. Mr. Chairman is a most interesting fellow!
Thank you so much for those videos, I love them. I know they tend to gather less views than cooking ones but I assure you they deserve all the love they get. you put a lot of effort into the documentary aspect and it's clear you want to show the hard work and passion put into the craft. Thanks again!

I know these videos are glorified commercials, but your excitement is infectious
OMG seeing those gummies get made looks soooo satisfying!
I've been doing sakuraco for like 3 months and I'm super excited for this month's box, the little bunny dish looks so cute! It's become a fun little thing I share with my sister (who gets het own box) and my best friends whenever I get a new box 😊
these jellies are gorgeous! this was a really fun, fascinating look into this company!
I can't tell you how moved I am to learn that this sort of artisanship continues in Japan.
This is just so beautiful.
These were all so beautiful and delicious looking, it's sad that demand is low, I'm glad that Jun and Sakuraco are showing them to the world.
Your videos on the making process is the only reason I get the boxes now. I love learning about the making process and the companies. I hope you're able to keep doing these videos!
Thank you for inedible videos.
So much dedication on these candies. Would love to give them a try.
The jelly candy looks like jewelry! So pretty!
They all seemed so relaxed, laughing and joking even while making the same exact motions they've probably made millions of times. Shows what a difference atmosphere can make.
9:38 what beautiful candies! Even the “simple” starting candies are so full of life 🥰
I love how excited and happy the shokunin are to show you around their workplaces and show you how they do their crafts.
The amount of thought and detail they put in these beautiful creations is amazing! And all handcrafted!
Sugoi kawaii! I live in Germany, but now I definitely want to try these sweets. They are beautiful and hand crafted. Gorgeous .
knowing that they are handmade makes them more special
What a delightful video! It seems it was just like 5 minutes long, all those candies are SO WELL DONE! Thank you for showing the process to us!
Wow! To make that all by hand is impressive. The jellies look so cute~
Thank you for showcasing their process. I really like seeing these videos.
these videos always feel so peaceful and genuine, they really make me happy
Okay the candy is awesome and all... but the highlight must be 15:35
The kitty just noms the rice and will not let go!!! Adorable!
This was so beautiful and inspiring! Thank you so much for the laughs at the end with the side by side cat candies 😅 I pray their candy shop continues to thrive ❤
the bunny candy had me squealing! huge respect to these snack-makers for continuing on the tradition!
Absolutely love this whole series of manufacturing snacks. Thank you so much for sharing. Stunned by the craftsmanship and how much work is involved into each and every product. It gives me hope for the future for things that are still handmade. Happy to know that people still do it and many appreciate it, thank you for educating us 😊
The craftsmanship involved in the production is really impressive. I love this series of videos. 😍
このシリーズ大好きです!
今回も日本語訳ありがとうございます!!
this was such a lovely watch,,everyone so dedicated to crafting these adorably charming gummies
工場見学動画が大好きなんですけど、ジュンさんのチャンネルで、こんなハイクオリティで大好きな和菓子工場の動画が見れるなんて感激です!素晴らしい動画を作っていただいて、ありがとうございます!
Thank you so much for those videos, I love them. I know they tend to gather less views than cooking ones but I assure you they deserve all the love they get. you put a lot of effort into the documentary aspect and it's clear you want to show the hard work and passion put into the craft. Thanks again!
