it doesn't matter how much RUclips drains battery when they are both on RUclips. iPhone 13 mini wasn't even similar but it was 2 hours worst than the 12 pro Max
@@Arman-fv8bb Exactly, it doesn’t matter what the test was, just matters that they were tested the same. Prove their claim was a big lie. You could test anything else, the 12 Pro Max will always beat the 13 Mini battery no matter what. I wonder what made apple say that.
Good videos, but would really have liked to see how the iPhone 11 compares (with 100% battery capacity), maybe something to add later? It's still sold and remains really popular.
Your test data is still the same as before and has not been retested. This is not accurate at all, because the battery life of the old iPhone has deteriorated, regardless of battery health, even if you replace it with a new battery
thank you very much for this review, I assume apple's tests were done with the same streaming video in a loop so perhaps the phone cached it the first time and then avoid downloading it again the subsequent times, this way the phone saves battery mainly because no network is used. I prefer the test you did here because it's more the way I use to watch videos, ie who watch the same video several times in a loop?
100% agree! I got my 13 Pro max this week and the battery drain speed made me wonder whether it has defect, because it’s disappointingly well below Apple’s claim of 25 hrs. Then I watched many drain test videos and THEY are the real numbers which closely match my device. But nonetheless a strong battery.
I am currently selling my 13 pro max and people just keep asking about battery health and don't care if i tell them it lasts over a day easy. So, I am doing same test as this one and currently at like 19-20h with 12% battery left! Expecting 21-22 with 90% battery health and medium brightness.
Thanks for that test, testing one discipline from start to end tells so much more about pros and cons in battery life than those tests who are switching apps every 30 mins. I warch a lot of youtube on my phone and this test shows how much better the 13 series is than the 12 series. Other tests have less than a hour difference between these.
I just bought the 13 Pro Max new from Apple Today and love it, but I’m especially excited for my Oneplus 10 Pro to secondary it to my iPhone and so that I can compare the two with each other. Seems like the OP10P is the iPhone 13 Pro Max of Androids. Best Battery Life, Fastest Charging, best brightest screen, great cameras.
@@JohnSmith-zn4uf is it your daily driver right now? And right?? Idk why apple doesn't have a rear mounted Fingerprint reader or at least under display
@@RogueHetero Not right now, no. The SE's battery is not at all enough for my current day-to-day usage. What's annoying about Apple is that they hold back on things they're clearly capable of doing so they can keep selling/milking iPhones with "new" features; they plan many of their future phones out in advance. They're likely saving under display fingerprint reading for a future iPhone, even though Samsung and Google have had it for years.
Is it because of the "notch problem" that was fixed or the zoomed screen has much more space? It kinda look like it's considerably bigger when zoomed than before.
Same level of brightness is the comparison between phone, if you want to know how Apple test you should talk about what is that brightness, 50% or max or auto. If you can only provide information of comparison between phones, you should compare the Apple number too.
Video Streaming (with the same resolution) over Safari in RUclips gets mucht better results, about 3% an Hour in Safari vs 5% (via WIFI only) in the RUclips App (both 720P)! For sure not close to 20 Hours, but much better. Video streaming with 4G is much shorter.
Good test but I don’t understand one thing. All the RUclipsrs who did the test never effin ever mention if the phone speaker is on mute or being used? Coz that affects the battery too
The shorter the clips in the playlist the more often it has to buffer. I'm thinking Apple tested this on one long video. Still misleading, no one plays a 15 hour movie.
It took me 30 seconds on Apple website to find out how Apple did this test so I am a bit shocked a nobody like me found it and they struggled? They play a video (over 2hr) on loop in Apple TV at HDR. Apple TV is an app developed by Apple and obviously, like Safari, optimised within a second of its life, where as YT is developed by Google and Apple's main rival! Trying to debunk Apple's claims by doing something different using a badly optimised rival's app is unscientific and bordering on agenda driven?
May be, may be the 13 Pros will have better battery life on Netflix when playing non Dolby Vision 24p content because the screen wil run at only 24Hz compare to 60Hz for every others iPhone
Kinda weird results, not even talking about the 13 mini and 12 P.M, cuz i kinda expected the 13 pro to beat the 13 by a large margin considering that most youtube videos are filmed at 30 or even 24fps. How many fps do you record at for your videos
Apple's test is done on the Apple TV app that is no doubt optimised to play at 24Hzz or close. We do not know if YT has updated its app to take advantage of pro motion below 60Hz and knowing that Google is a rival to Apple and they have not even allowed PiP on the iPhone YT app, I think that testing on YT is likely the worst case scenario and a poor choice.
I'm hesitating between iphone 13 pro and iphone 13 pro max, but whenever I see a battery test on the pro max, I have to admit I'm much more inclined to get a pro max
Tbh if you are getting any iPhone 13 this year (maybe except the mini if you are a heavy user) you shouldn’t really worry about battery life. It’s really going to make it hard for you to buy anything if we just look at battery life just like should I upgrade this year or not.
That’s bullshit.MKBHD said that he was getting 9 hours and he thought that was great.Anyway, who spends that long on their phone every day? If they do then they have a serious addiction problem and need to get a life.
Your test data is still the same as before and has not been retested. This is not accurate at all, because the battery life of the old iPhone has deteriorated, regardless of battery health, even if you replace it with a new battery
Not sure what you are doing with your phones but i am getting close to double the SoT! What brightness do you use as OLED display brightness is not linear, so the higher the brightness the quicker the battery drains per rise? Apple tests using a film (HDR) from iTunes looped and uses wifi and sound is through BlueTooth to headphones (how I use it). They are also not done on the current iOS so if it is buggy and battery drain is more than it should be that won’t help.
i think Apple’s claimed times are with 50% brightness? my 13 runs 80% to 60% when i’m at work then before bedtime i charge it back to 80%. for me the battery is very good 👍🏻 way more efficient than SD888.
@@jaffar1234 No, of course not, I extrapolate from viewing say from 70% and watch a film for 2 hr then multiply it out! GSM Arena gets 24hr in media playback so I expect Phone Arena has higher brightness which is fair enough, but they need to test with lower brightness if they are again trying to shoot Apple down!
I guess apple test at minimum brightness whereas you're at medium brightness levels. Those stats sound impressive. The reality for some of these less so although to max models are seriously good for battery and the 13 a decent improvement on the 12. 96 hours of audio playback also sounds unrealistic. I tend to lose 5 percent an hour on Spotify (galaxy s10e) and previous phones have been 4 to 7 which is about 18 to 24 hours. If apple is significantly better I'd still suspect 40 hours max
The part that people fail to realize is that apple almost guaranteed tests these results in a very controlled environment, all with the same exact network and network strength and most likely one phone at a time so no other devices clog the network, and they probably let it play through a video that is completely straight playback so that it doesn’t have to continuously load a play list and use the CPU more than it would just playing back an ultra long video, loading the next video and the next video after that uses quite a bit of processing power thus shortening the results. Apple probably plays a straight day long video and only has to load it once, then just let it play.
What fool idiot. iPhone 13 series has best battery life in every way compared to its predecessor series and 13 pro max has the best battery compared to ANY smartphone out there.
