I literally just shaved the lip on the exb where the esc needs to go so I could fit my max 6, the wires where short on my 1650kv so I had to extend them. Yours look perfect. Great video, I be waiting for the first run.
I have come back to this video since i might buy either the hobbywing max 6 1650KV combo or the castle combo for my XO-1 and maybe my future Infraction but i'm a little worried that the hobbywing motor wouldn't fit an XO-1. But the Castle motor is a direct fit for the XO-1 since the stock motor and the new castle are the same dimensions.

I burnt out two Firma 150s within six months. They're hilariously rated for an 15 pound car and these cars are right on the edge. Bigger esc means less strain on the system, less cogging and lower temps all around. It's a reliability thing really.
Love the vids super helpful and I put the max 6 combo with 1650kv motor in my exb and this thing rips wasn’t gonna put it on 8s put I had to it’s so freaking fast literally put my radio on 60 percent to have a chance
@@joelmuller8395 17/50 with a hobby wing heat sink with it getting a little hot but I change to a hobbystar 1730kv so my diffs would last longer though that’s been awhile and I think they fixed the problem😂
hi Jason, I have max6 and HW4274 motor already installed in e-revo 2.0. If You are wondering how does it look like if it comes to the space with "everything inside" I can take some pictures and send You. There is really not enough room to play with positioning but I sorted out and I am even using one original screw hole to mount ESC :D I am using a separe home-made ESC plate to achieve it and 3m red tape, it works great.

I put the motor wires towards the motor and it fits just fine. I trimmed a square off a mouse pad for a shock absorber and double sided gorilla tape on the bottom of the mouse pad and the top. I can send you pics of you haven’t already mounted your Mamba Monster X 8S.
I also have these electronics and they both do the job, the mmx8s seems to have huge power. I do like the max6 with the castle 1717 too and I have ran both setups on 8s mixed and matched. Overall I'd say the max 6 esc is the safe bet with either motor. The mmx8s with data log feature and precision tuning along with the power it provides and sensored smooth operation is by far my favorite esc motor combo but!!! I have now caught one mm8xs on fire doing a kv test with a tp power 2200 motor and melted the female C plug off of the esc on another mmx8s. I have used them in my kraton and limitless and infraction and love the power but now I will see how I like the warranty program cause I have not contacted castle yet. Maybe today.
Oh and I also have the xlx system and I was able to run more mph with my mmx8s than I could with the xlx. I was able to go 123mph backed up with a 119mph in my limitless. The best I got with the xlx was low 100s

Hey Jason: I'm in Sask. and if you're ever looking for an aftermarket fan for your Max 6 I have new, never used one from NTF racing with switch I'm not using as I decided to use MMX 8s instead. I'm also on Arrma Kraton fb group and Arrma Forum under Kingpin.
Hi, great vid! A question about braking (both EZRUN and MONSTER) if the truck is stand still and you press the radio trigger front: will it brake first and reverse only for the second “trigger press forward” or it is smart, knows the truck is stopped so start reversing for the first press? Thanks!
What sucks is that hobbywing doesn’t post the max rpms. So you wouldn’t know how close to max rpms you would be if you ran 8s on it. The castle has a max of 56,000 rpms, and with an 8s LiPo you hit 48,840 rpms with a 1650kv motor. I think the 1650kv HobbyWing could handle 8s.

Why not use the 1520 over the 1717? I wanna get the 1520 and he 8s esc cause its new but still run 6s

Could you notch where the screws are holding the plastic to the chassis maybe a mm or so to gain the clearance for the esc? Just a tought.
