- Here I build a budget setup in my daily drivers. Sounds great for Very little overall money spent!
Equipment:
1-SDR-2X10D4 dual 10” ported subwoofer enclosure
1- Skar RP-1500.1d subwoofer amp
1- Skar RP-74.4AB mid/high amp
4- kicker 6x9’s
Sky high 1/0 amp kit
Big 3 upgrade
Optima red top under hood battery
Pioneer DMH-2660NEX
Even budget install no corners cut, true craftsmanship. I'm jus waitin to do my durango

You can dye the carpet black using fabric dye and paint the door panels and other trim black with the duplicolor vinyl and fabric spray. I sprayed my plastics black and it came out great.

Running 4 svr 12 s on a skar 3500.1d in a ford escape .Those skar boxes are nice boxes for prefabs.Big 3 upgrade and sounds great.Plenty for a daily driver.

I ordered a 1200 Skar amp and I’m hooking it to a Rockford T1. First time using Skar and can’t wait to shake my vehicle to pieces.

had that exact setup in a 05 Malibu. Sounds so much better with the subs faced to the rear. I recently upgraded the subs to svr’ a and used the box that had the sdr’s in. Much much better.
So I have 2 15s in my back seat, putting 2 12s in the trunk. And about 15-20 ds18 6 1/2 speakers throughout the car. What do you think I will need in terms of power and amps? I’m guessing a powerful main battery with a battery in the trunk, and then 1 amp for bass 1 for vocal?
That's when you know you're a real bass head, you're willing to take apart the car just for a sub.

Alot of people talk crap about skar but for the price you can't beat it every sub I've owned from them so far has taken well over rated rms clean. Currently I have a skar rp rp2000 on 2 vd 12s in my F150 soon to be DDX 10s when I get around to building my box and getting a seat lift

I just built a box for my brother n laws chevy.
He moved the seat forward.
2 vd 12s in 3.8ft³ ported.
Its a little small,but gets down pretty good.
Running a alpine mrx m100 at 1ohm

@@stanmondzelewski9253 yeah man that vd series is great but I ran across 2 DDX 10s on ebay 135 for the pair used I wasn't passing that deal up🤣 that's how I wound up upgrading now I'm gonna get myself a lmi lift kit and build my first box I should have more than enough airspace with that lift and if I front face the 10s

I have to 12" VFX with a 2000 watt amp that I'm trying to install in my 2000 Ford Mustang GT SALEEN....but I don't think I'll get it done. Maybe if they were 10"s because I had that same box
I like that box. I just recently got a HUGE PREFAB BOX. My box is for 2 18s and Atrend from Chicago builds them.

my buddy just got the same setup but preloaded with 12's instead of 10's and the 1200 watt skar amp and wiring kit. his is in a chevy SUV, and it sounds good af. I suggested adding another 1200 watt amp and a extra battery then running each sub on its own amp, because you can tell the subs are begging for more power
Not trying to get to crazy with it tho lol. I’ll save that for my Hummer build. 😆

If they fire into the trunk they need some room for sound to get back. As close as that was it would do good the way you have it.
What seats are u putting in ? I got so mad at myself for not knowing u can take apart the backseat n I ended up gettin 1 VXF-12 but now Ima see if I can put a bigger box thanks to u 💯💯
Hell yeah! They just some cheap ones off Amazon. Like $375. But they look and feel great.
Build two identical boxs for 2 12s to the factory Recommended size for the subs easy to get in and out you can bolt them together in the port after in place

I did almost the same setup in my 09 mustang. Kicker compR 10s .. I took it out when I noticed it sounded better with the truck up and also I rather hear horses over bass
That certainly makes me feel better running much larger wire than what the amp takes and using reducers. Lol

Try iraggi alternator that is what I have in my uncle nissan ad expert/wagon it is a 320 amp alternator

Hell yeah, I had two SDR 10s in a D4S profab in my jeep and they banged pretty good for all they cost. I would still be banging them if someone didn't steal them

If you let the subs fire upwards towards the trunk lid it'll hit harder than facing backwards. I found that out a few days ago 😂. And I been in the car audio life style since 2001 / 2000 era 😂. And use mainly sundown Xs and Z's SA 8"s X8s and Skar VXf 15"s ect. And I got to Messing with my smaller build and I be damned lol they hit real hard firing towards the side and towards the trunk lid firing directly up basically the sub / Subs are loading off the trunk lid or wall ect.. but if you got 2k + you can fire them into the cabin and be louder than most ppl. I got my VXf 15" firing into the cabin it's powered by a Taramps HD3k it's getting 3400 watts @1ohm at peak. It's pretty violent. My smaller system is two Sundown Xv3 8's and they are firing sideways looks really cool with the led lights ect. Plus hits ridiculously hard.

You think you got it rough I have a 95 gt convertible and the trunk is microscopic! It has my small system with a single 10" sub cube n half box in it and I practically had to grease it to get it in there. I had to take the spare out use the well to wriggle it in then slide the spare in, but I took out my pioneer gm9701 and replaced it with a 2k apcle1800.1 so I made a new amp rack now the space saver spare is about 2" to wide to slide in... Arg! Guess better get a tire repair kit! That amp made my custom 10" sub I built with 200oz motor from my vans old nvx vcw15 motor flat out slam! but after about a year of abuse It finally had a triple joint failure and the copper coil was now black coil... Lol but it didn't have any clip arcs and never got stinky just severe heat, I was bumping with the top down not a good idea and I got home and I could not even hold my hand on the t yoke! How didn't melt down is beyond me...the copper 3" quad 1 ohm coil from Robot underground??🤔 Very likely.

you should run another ground to the body... your amp grounds to the body and you still have that bottle necked with the factory wires... you helped the alt to battery with the engine ground and power wire but you still should get a body ground done. thats why its called the big 3. the engine is on rubber mounts so your not passing that engine ground to the body..
I get that. But I did not do an official “big-3” on ThisI install. I am getting more than enough current delivery for my needs as is. This is just a little daily budget banger mind you. Take a look at my latest Hummer build. That is where I dot all my I’s and cross all my T’s. Because it in fact needs it. Running at 0.23 ohm bursting over 17,000 Watts
So you prefer and advise facing the subs inside the car and leaving the seats down? I have a sedan as well but have people sit in the back often. Would it be worse if I had them facing the front just like your car but having the seats up? Currently I have them facing the trunk and have them right up against the trunk latch as I've heard that's the best for echoing the bass across the trunk and cabin.
If you have people sitting in the back regularly yes, I would have them to the rear. They don’t sound nearly as good facing forward with back seats up

Would not be bad. Just not as effective for this configuration. If we talking hatchback then that’s a different story

Hello, I have a ported box tuned to 30hz for (4) Skar EVL "10 woofers, what is the best but cheapest amp I can get? Should I get one large amp (eg. 8k) or two smaller ones (eg. 2 4k's) and bridge them?

If your configuration allows you a 1 ohm final load I’d do a single big one. Best budget bang for your buck would be a full bridge amp. Like taramps
That amp puts out around 2k+ RMS @1ohm.. it's under rated you'll be getting around 1900 or so out of it depending on how you got the amp setup and your power.. but regardless you'll see more than 1500 watts easily..

Didn't you have them facing the rear? Wth? I have a question how many transmissions have you been through in in that 95? That actually looks like 96 tail lights too? Anyway I owned two 95 GT's, blew both trannys, I only had about 75,000 miles on them when they blew. I mean the engine only makes 215 horsepower, I guess Ford came a long way with the newer ones, I'll never own another Ford again in my life. So I was just wondering if you had the same problem?
Faced then forward and liked how they sounded better, I did replace tail lights with newer. Never had problem with trans at all. Tho I don’t drive it hard either
How do I set my amp gains if I have a lc6i line out converter. Im good with the amp but the line out converter if not set right makes it sound off
I would try to match voltage coming from your head unit into your LC. If you boost your preamp voltage too much at the LC that could be the problem.

It should. But not 100% certain. The rear leather seats I have came out of a 99-04. So same dimensions there

I just got my 2nd set of super tweeters in the truck(1 in each door,1 in each A pillar)
I got a hiss in them i cant get rid of. All 4 of em hiss.
I can unplug the rca's and the hiss dont change.
If the amp is on,they hiss.
What can i try to get rid of the hiss?
Both amps ground to a block,its bolted to the trucks frame. Big 3 is done.
Tried a ground loop isolator.it didnt help any.
Turnning the gains down dont change the hiss.
Maybe signal to noise on the amp to high? Iv read these compression tweeters are real sensitive and high signal to noise ratios can cause noise in them.
Signal to noise on my amp is 68dBA(reference: 1 watt into 4ohms)
Mines hiss too... but nothing beyond ordinary tho. I’ve tried to get mines too dead silence, but that was a losing fight for me.
