- That's right, thanks to victoria 3 mods, you can try out a new victoria 3 start date. Victoria 3 start dates? Maybe in the base game in future, for now, dismiss the Victoria 3 qing - Victoria 3 ming is where it's at. Victoria 3 china can finally be unified under our fair rule. I think when the mod is referring to wheat farms, it is meaning the large scale private production, rather than just any old wheat farm, which would be subsistence.
Since he never mentions it in the video the mod is called "AD 1648" and is on the steam workshop

You know, the description would be a very nice place to have a link to the mod. Certainly more useful than writing a slightly awkward, hard to read text with as many relevant keywords for the algorithm as possible.
You'd be supprised how easy it is to mod paradox games, especially if you have prior modding experience of their previous games.
For sure. The only thing I’d say is difficult to mod compared to the rest is CK3 props and clothing, but that’s mainly because the engine scale isn’t the same as Unreal or Unity and because clothes are a bit hard to get right. Afaik there aren’t any official base models on which to model new clothes, and so you have to do quite a bit of trail and error to make your own without the help of others in the modding community. Same for Cities to an extent - you can’t really make new assets without knowing 3D fairly well.
Even that’s fairly easy though once you get a handle of it, providing you know how to use 3D like Maya and Marvellous Designer, but it is certainly a step more difficult than most of the rest of the PDX mods

The Ottomans actually did have full control of Tunisia and Algiers for a period until the early 1700s, when they gained great autonomy.
I've mentioned it once before, but Divergences is an amazing alternate history mod. It's basically the Ante Bellum or Kaiserreich of Victoria III, really got to give that one a try. Other than that, there's Three Emperors, a Napoleon themed mod, but that one hasn't been updated for the latest patch yet.
If you want a challenge you should try to form Carthage using my mod “Kikko’s formable and releasable nations” it has a ton of formables. Some should be quite the challenge, all with unique flags.
I don't think Laith has the skill to form Carthage. That is too far a reach.

When looking at an item in the market you can click on Applications and build the necessary violins from that tab, it also shows what building is needed if you don’t know yet like with the flintlocks
So you the reason that substance farming question makes sense is the highway issue. Basically if you have a small connector in the middle of a highway that then cuts down travel time will INCREASE time on the road, and while so would suffer those people will then adapt and plan for a longer commute. You should look at a video or two about it because it is a fairly complex problem that I can’t explain in a comment section. By having such an easy solution it actually breaks down everything

"Really stagnant forever" is kind of a major gameplay feature of this mod right now. They need to come up with a more interesting way to ramp the economy up, as most countries are unplayably underdeveloped at the 1648 start.
I never knew how much I needed other start dates in Vicky. 1800s is just a tad too late for my particular interests.
Currently, the Qing just won't put any troops on the front with Ming. They actually start with a bureaucracy surplus so its not that. So you can just not raise any troops and let war exhaustion tick down until you get white peace- or since war exhaustion ticks down so slowly at the start of the game, you can just wait until you've built up Ming until you win.
As an aside, tax waste means you don't get any taxes, not that they don't pay taxes
If you are going to continue playing this mod I think Poland would be a great pick. The Deluge is just starting when Russia and Sweden both devastated the Commonwealth for 2 decades, destroying its population and power. Historically the Commonwealth was decreasing its previous world-class racial and religious tolerance, which sparked the Deluge by dissatisfying the Orthodox and Cossack populations as the local nobles abandoned their previous culture and were Polonised and the previous streak of monarchs, ever since the first Vasa king, attempted to move the country to an intolerant Catholic state (which was a terrible decision in a nation with so many non-Catholics). I think Polish history (actual Polish history, outside of the obvious Winged Hussars obsession and the losses later on some fixate on) is very interesting and I think it would be fun to see you try to beat Sweden, Russia, and especially the Ottomans and create the wealthy, diverse state Poland should have become.
The Deluge is one of the great tragedies in Polish history - it practically ended the religious tolerance guaranteed in the Warsaw Confederation and resulted in mass reconversions to Catholicism among the nobility, which effectively ended any freedom for the peasantry to embrace the reformation
Very cool. Why are the mechanics so different for farming and combining production instead of further dividing production which is likely what we would’ve seen? IE: tree felling, drying, logging, wood making

Welp hours later the mod is pretty much unplayable because like half of the countries I tried to start with had a pink face for their arms industry production method that required oil and steel which means all of those countries are going to run military deficits I can only assume forever because you can't change it or click on it or whatever so... idk.

@@starhalv2427 they can teleport in eu4 also... but only ai ones... i proved this 100% while invading england... i send 3 lots of 40k stacks to land on ireland.. sent my ships back to get more troops... the very second i set my ships to head to land in ireland... 3 50k english stacks appeared in ireland.. all exactly the same size.. they sat on the land id taken so my ships couldnt land my new troops and then attacked & killed all 3 of my 40k stacks sieging down forts... so i reloaded... this time i sent my ships to NEAR ireland but not landing in ireland.. those 3 50k stack never appeared... i then send my troops to land in ireland and the 3 50k stacks appeared out of nowhere... so i went intoi console commands (after reloading) and did the command to show the whole map... i landed my troops... they had 0 troops on britain.. suddenly 3 50k stacks appeared out of nowhere.. full morale... not mercenaries that were bought or armies quickly made & joined together.. they spawn in full morale.. now britain did state it had that many troops and more.. so it wasnt building new units.. the number didnt go up.. what i think happens is it had them in the americas or something and it teleports them to the location it wants them.. which is also what happens when they go running away into terra incognita... they run away then suddenly appear 6-8 provinces away and u dont understand how they got there so quick.. its called paradox programs the game to cheat constantly cos it cant make a game that is both fair and challenging

ive been to China twice... i dont think its that they dont like you there.. its just they are generally less friendly than many other Asian nations like Thailand, India etc... Or, maybe its they dont see foreigners as anything special.. like, when i got to South America people are really friendly, generally... maybe its a Communist thing? In Laos they werent particularly friendly either.. although im not saying they are unfriendly.. its just they dont go out of their way to help you as an "idiot abroad" - i tried to find the bus station in China after arriving from train to the train station and i kept asking people for help and no one wanted to help me, no one seemed to want to even try to understand. I even showed them bus station on my chinese dictionary... i dunno if they spoke a different dialect or couldnt read... it turned out the bus station was right next to the train station.. people sent me eventually on a long bus ride around the city and back to the train station again where i found the bus station.. maybe they just couldnt understand why i was asking where the bus station is when i was actually right next to it? but when ur a confused idiot abroad, it feels like they are being unfriendly and unhelpful...

Sorry you had that experience yeah I been to china only once, want to visit again but not because of the people no offense they really aren’t the nicest, I’m sure it’s because they have a lot to deal with so I don’t blame them, but when I tried the same thing trying to find the Mao Zedong statue in Changsha showing people the picture and even asking in mandarin where are the monuments they just looked at me funny or wanted me to go away, eventually I found them but definitely made me feel like an unwelcome outsider
Edit: In case anyone comes after me for possibly offending any Chinese people asking where the monuments are; just search them up on Google and see how glorious they are new too opened in 2009. You’d want to see them for yourself and this was before Covid it was very popular there were many Chinese people and tourists there that didn’t even speak mandarin. They knew where this was. I'm pretty certain no one who worked on this mod worked for Paradox, given the translation issues. Furthermore, Paradox games are actually really easy to mod.
yeah not sure the specifics of victoria 3 modding but paradox modding tends to be ridiculously user friendly
Victoria3 leaked months before release a lot of modding teams refused to worked base of off the leaked version. I guess these guys did worked with the leaked version. Otherwise there's just no way.
@@viorp5267 You vastly overestimate the difficulty of modding a Paradox game. Especially for a mod like this, most of the changes aren't particularly difficult, just tedious if there aren't any dedicated mod tools to make certain changes easier.
@@Gustav_Kuriga I can imagine tedious. Was once is a quickly dead CK3 modding project where i spent 3 months doing the province map alone and was 1/3rd done by the end.
They'd still need to write up province histories for every single province. it's a huge amount of raw work no way this mod was done in 2 months

1648 is closer to 1836 than 1444. If you think economy didn't exist in that form, you'd be surprised.

@@genovayork2468 The world as a whole in 1648 was significantly closer to 1444 than it was to 1836. It’s not even comparable. The Industrial Revolution hadn’t even happened yet which is the entire basis of the Victorian Era
@@digiorno1142 Is industrialisation present in the mod? No, is it? Supply and demand drove economy then as well. Also, industrialisation sjould be a mechanic, but only accessible after, let's say 1770.
