5'8" isn't short. I'd call anything between 5'8" and 6' average. I always imagine 2 more inches as ushering me from 5'6" to my ideal height. I feel like anyone under 5'7" is short and over 6' is tall. Technically, though, I can't say you're wrong, as you refer to 5'8" as "not-so-tall".
You're right. Average height for a man in the U.S. as of date is between 5'8" to 6'. Short is 5'7" and below. I'm 5'7", therefore considered below average; short.

Short is when you have to climb the shelves at the super market to get to the item on the top shelf. I'm 5'3" Finding anything that will fit without cutting down is totaly inpossible. An Yes not every person runs in a small (Like also a little extra weight) doesn't help.

I'm 5'7" live in the UK and what you would describe as a senior mature guy. Even at our age some of us would still like to look stylish and care about our appearance. Do you have a video that would be appropriate for guys like me and are we considered still?

5'8 is NOT short btw. try 5'5 that is short. This man can buy anything off the rack. No need for Peter Manning clothes which is more for guys 5'6 and shorter.

We need a video for the tall man! There are so many videos for short men and clothing for short men, but where is the tall mans clothing?
Questioning the colour blocking effect of step 1 a great way to visually cut you in half and make both your torso and legs look shorter. Outfit 2 is much better, with the exception of cuffing the pants, which has a visual effect of shortening the leg (as does going sockless, compared to wearing socks that are similar in colour to the pants). Outfit 3 is a suit, not much to critique there, the socks matching the colour of the suit pants has the effect of lengthening the leg which I mentioned when discussing outfit 2.

Below 5'6" would be short. 5'9" would be tallish. 5'8" no way is short except for Netherlands.
2nd look i would use with chelsea or dress boots.

Your model is not short. If you really want to do a video for short men then use a short guy 5'5 or under. Nice try but this video in hot helpful at all. Disappointing!

I’m a woman and 5’7” I’m only a couple inches above average height for women. Yes, 5’8” is short for a man. I always thought the average height for men was 5’11” anything below 6 feet is short in LA, where I live. I’m Mexican and all the men in my family are between 6’2” and 6’6”. So maybe I have a skewed view of height. I don’t know any men that are 5’8”/around my height... but based on the comments I guess there are many short men out there...

5'8" is short? I am 5'2". I was 5'3" but I shrunk a little. Now that is short! Most guys I know are somewhere between 5' 8" and 5'10". I doubt you even have clothes for people my highth, I have a 24 inch inseam. It is very difficult finding clothes.

I think you should have selected someone shorter for this video. 5'8" is getting close to the current average men's height of 5'10". Based on the video, I would estimate your height to be about 5', about the same as my wife. I think women of modest height have it easier when it comes to finding clothes that fit than men of modest height. Do you agree?
In my country this guy will be on the average height for a guy, he won't be considered "short".

Japanese style is perfect for western men under 5'6 slim to average. Japanese sizes run small. A 36 short is like a 40 regular in US size.
